I have a question.
What is the need for Enrage Mechanics in GW 2 Raids? What purpose it serves?
I thought that developers wanted to stay away from Zerk Meta? At the moment it seams not only that the raid has some tough mechanics ( which I love ) and are not the easiest, but on top of that you have that rush DPS DPS DPS! Which I find to be a dumb and boring mechanic as a fake difficulty. Is it just me?

Tonight I had a super frustrating moment, as you know Teq has been boosted and it is bit hard to kill him. So failing some attempts, we were finally doing good, everything was going well. Until…. 1% hp.. we are about to kill him and I crash… Got thrown out of desktop with the sign ‘’ would you like to report this to ArenaNet’’ , I rushed to log back in the game, and found my self on completely different ’’server’’ where teq event has been failed. I tried to jump to the server my friends where, but once I arrived was like I never participated in the event, not even 1 chest. I did all the phases, wasted 15 minutes of fighting… all for nothing.
Question is. What kind of server system is this and when will you fix it? System where if you DC , the server doesn’t reserve a spot for at least 2-3 minutes? Or doesn’t remember your contribution even though you contributed for the last 15 minutes?
I am really upset..

That screenshot kinda looks like you’ve got ambient occlusion enabled in your Nvidia driver settings.
The effect tries to analyze the images produced by the game to detect small corners and cracks where ambient light doesn’t reach, then applies some extra dark shading there. It’s not smart enough to consider the in-game fog and often ends up drawing the extra shading on top of it.

I CAN SAY that Changing from Windows to Full screen our any other resolution does not FIX this
Anyone have any idea how to fix this? You can see in the distance the objects walls etc are kind off blurred with white and black streaks which is really annoying I am not sure what is causing this. Find Screenshots attached with m current settings and the issue.
I feel like these Achievs. were rushed and just placed because they had nothing else to do , just dropping around random teeth and call it an dragon ’’clue’’, This could have ben way more interesting , like the event long time ago , where you received clues in your inventory and had to find the place after ( I think it was on southsun patch) THAT was a hunt for clues!
I feel the same and have the same concerns, in a week, 2 weeks or even a month or 2 from now, would will be willing to put hours of there time into 1 fight with almost no reward that has a very high chance of failure?
I hate wow now days, but they did make some kitten good boss fights and the loot that dropped imo was very well balanced (Im talking pre wotlk). That being said, it was an instance and I truely feel we need hard fights, much harder than this.
BUT open world is no place for it. It just puts a bad taste in the mouth and no one will do it in the future.
Sorry , are you talking about the 40 people raid where maybe 4 people go any ITEMS at all? Talking about no reward there vs difficult content. At least you get something!

No not AQ40 and stuff I was talking about 10/20 mans or even like GW1 dungeons from EotN those where amazing dungeons and good rewards too. GW1 where 12mans (I still go on gw1 sometimes and try to do frostmaw, UW, FoW and SoD b.c they’re more than what gw2 has).
I want nothing more than hard 10+ man dungeons in this game, I love hard (not long and boring fights with 1hit kills, thats not hard just annoying, I mean hard has in takes real coordination and trial/error to learn the fights) dungeons, but it seems anet doesnt know how to balance a game.
We have auto attack zerk gear content for along time and then BANG! content that is p/t/v tank gear that needs so much coordination 1 person can fail it for 80.
I understand where you coming from , and I would like to see 5 man dungeons that are as hard. his fight is he hard fight , a real fight. Don’t like it , don’t fight. Just don’t complain about rewards, GW2 have the least selfish rewards. WoW , 3 people out of 10/20 would get some sort of upgrade or reward, I used to go for months without any usable equipment dropping.

If you had 100s of gold to waste on completion back then, it probably won’t be hard to make enough gold to fill it up again. This change benefits 99% of players- you can’t place a group of super elite, super wealthy OCDers above them.
And as you’ve all said- it cost you hundreds of gold, but clearly that’s no issue if you have enough cash to be a completionist (it’d have cost you tens of thousands after all to collect all the legendaries). Frankly- you could get all these discoveries again in what it’ll cost to discover one or two ascendeds.

WONT SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
We all used expensive & bloody rare materials to make exotics, along with buying the recipes on tp or via karma.
We also had to often make more then one, just to try & get to 400 in crafting.Now, all those recipes we have to rediscover. I want my wasted materials back!
This non grindy game is already the grindiest game I`ve ever played & they just keep making it worse.
Wasted materials? Did you not get a weapon at the end? Only thing you are upset is that the weapon won’t show up in your list of craft able stuff. Other than that it is a minor inconvenience !
Because it still accounted for the balancing of the item when they created the celestial prefix, back in november.
Do you have a source that backs this up? All gear except celestial uses a common balance formula while celestial has an entirely unique balance formula. Without another stat set using the same formula as celestial for comparison, it is impossible to say definitively that MF is part of the balance. Has A-Net confirmed this somewhere?
Short of a confirmation, we can only speculate. And since A-Net is not planning to adjust celestial stats, the most rational conclusion is that MF was not considered when the celestial stat was originally balanced.
Celestial gear was acquired on the basis that it had MF. That us all that matters. If that MF is removed, then Anet need to compensate people somehow. Optional refunds, or new stat distribution are two options.
I am sorry .. need to? NEED to? They don’t NEED anything, you know that little thing that says ‘’This is an Online game and experience my change’’ , legal hey can even make Celestial gear give you 0 stats and they won’t NEED to do anything.
They should do something maybe, I still see celestial quite balanced. If they add extra Stats it will make celestial too combat efficient. !

Why would they replace an non-combat stat with a combat stat?
Well, if MF was the reason you were using the armor, why didn’t you make a MF set exactly?
MF was just one of the reason why i got it. It gave me a bit of everything. Now they’re simply removing it without any compensation – something they told they would have done along with the removal of said stat.

Because they were balanced with all those stats originally – magic find included.
Since celestials were introduced since november – far before they thought about removing that stat. So why should i be glad of a straight nerf on my items, especially without that compensation – that we thought being simply replacing that stat – mentioned above?
No one said you should be glad, but just move on. I am happy they are removing and imo if the MF is one of he reasons you got Celestial gear, it is a wrong reason in my book.

Except it isn’t fine. They were created and balanced with magic find as a stat, now they’re removing that stat without any compensation on those items.
A straight nerf just after they’ve introduced celestial armors and weapons, and without them saying anything about this nerf beforehand. And ignoring all they said about a compensation that had to be given along with the magic find removal.

Regardless of whether or not SAB is a ‘good’ thing for the living story, equating it to a “slap in the face” is so absurdly hyperbolic that it completely nullifies whatever merits your argument might have contained.
Did you read my post , the slap in the face occurs when an individual like me is excited about the LS that we have now with scarlet etc and can’ wait to see what will she do next but then you get an LS which has noting to do with the Last LS , cutting last LS off and leaving us hanging. ( as far as we know). It is like some one is telling you an awesome story and in middle of it they start telling you an different story.

Why are you worried about the 33% stat reduction being useless later when it is that way now?
Because people spent time and money making magic find gear. They spent consumables to craft armor and jewelery. Now that aspect of the gear (the only reason they made it, disappears). They should be able to go to a vendor and “turn it” in for gear of another stat type. This is on a piece by piece basis, not account wide.
This also affects weapons including exotics that they just released with MF attributes. Why would Anet release new weapons with MF (a few weeks ago during the champ update) knowing they would remove MF attributes? I thought that the day I saw the new weapon skins and stats…
Then there is magic find to infused armor that was purchased with laurels. Those laurels should be payed back, since they cost more than any other infusion. I have faith that Anet has thought this through somewhat. I just hope that it is done fairly.
They mentioned before about some kind of conversion from gear to the account system. If they keep this true, then the MF gear user will get a bonus to account MF right away. Thus they lose very little and the “very reason it was made” isn’t lost. Although, I’d be okay with them just removing MF from the gear and boosting the remaining two stats to meet other set standards. This way would be a bonus to me as just a boost to easy the getting of new gear – which isn’t all that hard to do.
I too, wondered why they announced the end of gear MF to only still release new gear with the stat on it.
As for Laurel related boosts, I can definitely see the need for some kind of refund. However, I don’t think it’ll even be considered looking at their previous record.

People loved SAB, so it’s nice it’s back. Besides, the Living Story has just been really terrible — if more time to work on the next chapter would give us better content, then this break hopefully will help.
Off Topic: IMO Sopranos ending was great.
IT wasn’t about the quality of the ending but that it was cut black was supposed to be a joke :P

I love Guild Wars 2 , I love every living story , I feel like I am par of it and story is happening in front of my eyes. I loved Scarlet and the event and couldn’t wait for next week. I was so exited what will happen again , what threat we will see, what will she do again.
But today I see the new update and it felt like a slap to face Sopranos ending. I understand it hasn’t ended yet and it will probably continue. And I will enjoy SAB of course but… I just can’t help but feel , let down, it is another semi Festival event, nothing major happening as far as we know. I really hope something else will happen.
Thank you Anet for the great work and amazingly paced content with this B2P game. I love the game but would like to see more seriousness to the world and the lore.

The Sopranos ending was great. It lets the viewer make up his own ending.
If you ask me, Tony and his whole family got gunned down by that shady guy you saw go to the toilet. There’s an Israeli made Uzi in the toilet cistern. The guy takes it out, locks n’ loads, aims for Tony and shoots him and his entire fam, dead. – OR – He aims for Tony, but shoots his whole fam dead, Tony survives, then gets locked up for life. Or he survives, his fam dead, he kills himself.
Either way, there’s so many good endings the viewer can come up by himself, and that’s what the writers of the Sopranos had in mind for the ending of the series.

The Living Story has been nothing but GLOOM AND DOOM THE WORLD IS ENDING for months now. I think lots of people, myself included, could really use a break for something a little more lighthearted.
And it’s not like Scarlet is going away. She’ll still be invading zones after the current LS ends, just with less frequency. The point is she’s still at large.
I am sorry where was the gloom? Pirates shouting yar? Politics? Dragon Bash? Queens Pavilion?

The events scale based on how many people are around. Last time I did an invasion I did several events by myself or with 1 or 2 other people because I was avoiding the zerg. It was mostly only regular mobs and the occasional vet so doable solo. If a champion spawned and it was only me I had to leave it but then you already get this with group dynamic events on the map.
If you don’t want to do the events you can avoid them since they aren’t tightly packed or go to a different map for 45 minutes. They don’t contest way points so that won’t be an issue either. Since they aren’t going to be every hour after this LS ends and they can be in a number of maps I don’t imagine you will encounter this issue often unless you are very unlucky.
But how would that work, lore-wise?
I mean… Unless we will keep killing Molten Alliance, Aetherblades and the rest of Scarlet’s army for years to come. Oh dear…Alright, it is fun and all… For a while. Maybe it won’t be “permanent”, but it will just take some months until they are removed? I mean, they will be removed after Scarlet is gone, right? She will be gone someday, right?
I would like to put an end to her plans someday. It is already bad enough that Orr is still full of risen even though we killed Zaithan already (LS-wise). She is cool, I like her, but fighting her forever… I don’t know.
They might just keep invasions as a system eventually. If Scarlet is defeated for good they could replace the minions and boss with the inevitable new villain who will crop up after her or they could make a few different variations of something relevant to the map like a dredge invasion, nightmare court invasion, fire legion invasion ect
I don’t see the point in that to be honest. Why re use an event that was specific for Scarlet? It is like saying , dragonbash event would stay permanently in game but will change to different animals , aka Quaggan bash ,Moa Bash , doesn’t make sense…

After Clock work Release , as I said it is no after the end of the Living story , what I think they mean by that is that on the release day the events were more frequent and the latter it goes the less frequent they will get. So I still can’ find anywhere written that that event will stay after Clockwork Chaos event. It wouldn’t be logical to leave it..

Well, the invasions haven’t become any less frequent after the release day, so I’m guessing it means after the living story release (meaning until sept. 3). Also there’s a post somewhere (I’ll try to find it) where someone comments about invasions being temporary, and Colin (IIRC) replies with something like “who said invasions were temporary?”.
EDIT: aparently the whole thread was deleted (either a mod deleted it for some infraction or the thread creator deleted the first post, which deletes the whole thread). I can find it in some dev tracker sites, but not here. In general the thread was called “Time Anet Needs to Decide” (won’t talk about the contents so I don’t discuss why it might be deleted), in it Colin replied with “Who said the invasions were temporary?”
Really? I have noticed that they are less frequent. Before on the launch date , a new event started probably 5 – 10 mins after the other one ended. Now it is around 30 – 40 mins. I for one wouldn’t like the invasions to stay. I don’t see the point, nor lore wise , nor content wise. That event requires a lot of people. And I think after 2 weeks people already are worn out. What I understand is that a day after or few days after launch events will start to slow down. And that is happening already , when I logged there was an event every 50 mins. Now it is every 1:30 mins or so. (including the time when event is actually happening
That’s not what the patch notes say. It says after the event is over Sept 3rd whatever the invasions will continue. The invasions have not slowed yet, they are every hour on the hour, give or take a couple minutes.

Closing Ceremony
•Witness the high point of the Queen’s Jubilee! Attend the ceremony and hear the Queen’s Speech in the Crown Pavilion of Divinity’s Reach. It’s sure to end with a bang.
Clockwork Minions Invade
•Scarlet’s clockwork minions are invading entire zones across Tyria.
•Watch the World Event UI for new invasions.
•All overflow maps created within 10 minutes of the start of the invasion will host a concurrent version of that hour’s event.
•Complete additional waves of the invasion for an increasingly lucrative map-wide reward.
•Map-wide rewards are limited to once per account, per day, per map. For example, players who claim the map-wide reward for an invasion in the Gendarran Fields will not be able to claim invasion rewards in this map until the following day.
•Complete all waves of an invasion to unlock a bonus battle with Scarlet.
•Defeat Scarlet for a daily world-boss reward of two guaranteed rare items.

They’ve already told that they will significantly slowed down after the current LS arc is over ( that is, with the next patch ). And I assume they won’t be so crowded once people get used to them, providing a decent challenge for the (lower) amount of players.

I think it would be utterly stupid and pointless to leave the event permanent. I haven’t read anywhere that it will be permanent.

As far as we know, she isn’t from this Pale Tree. In Sylvari story that is established that there is another tree somewhere. As well when Ventari found the seed , there was more then one seed of the Sylvari Tree.
Sorry have you done WvW. Where ever we placed the siege we got hit , the walls are to thin. And aoes shouln’t hit you harder than single target spells , I was geting hit by 4 k per hit (thats just from ONE aoe) , it defeats the purpose of Defending the Keep , everyone just stand a spam AoE and you can’t do anything about it .
I just think the AoE damage is to high , The other night we defending the keep and we have like 10 + AoEs on us on the wall … you can’t build anything , you can’t help player get up , nothing .It just feels so lame.
I think they should reduce AoE damage and Let Only Siege Weapons be able to hit the walls.
Maybe Scale AoE damage depending how many players? Like the more player the more the damage is shared? AT this point it makes WvWvW AoE zerg and no other build can help.
