So I am 1 Point of Interest from completing my World Completion, and I cannot find it for the life of me. I have triple checked every map and it shows that I have completed each zone fully. I am really confused. Is there going to be a new point of interest in the near future that has already been added into the database or something?
Please respond devs,
Thanks
All veterans can be solo’d and everything obtained solo while contested. You have it much easier than those of us who did Orr prior to the nerf.
I challenge you to cap the skill point at Gallow’s Hang without having stealth, the Mist Form commune trick, a distraction, or something equivalent. The champion baron or baroness that’s always hanging around there will murder solo players.
Yeah. I actually used my pet as the distraction, and had to kill all the mobs around the champ, then reset him. Because him + others meant my pet died before I could even get to the SP to commune. Then myself and 3 other people started losing to him (+ respawns), so they had to grab the point one by one. The champs and vets are incredibly strong.
So I am back with Another Problem! Orr being the first.
I purchased the Witch’s Costume set, back during Halloween, and recently contacted the GM’s trying to recover the set (I had deleted it on a character by accident. Not realizing until recently that I had done this).
Well the first GM told me that this item cannot be refunded (I had no idea the category, so that is where I placed it), I then proceeded to Reask the question. By chance that I had accidentally worded it improperly. Sure enough, the next GM to respond gave me the same response.
Now I am no rocket scientist, but when I spend money to buy a Virtual item. That can be manipulated in multiple ways, once created, and I cannot be given a Second Set of that item. THEN WHY SHOULD I BUY ANYTHING?
SO WORD TO THE WISE: Do not ACCIDENTALLY delete something. It will not be given back. They WILL NOT be lenient
I agree that Orr is tough but it can be done. I regularly wander around there as a Level 80 Ranger and I’ll not kid you, the locals can be irritating but they can be beaten. The best way to beat them is to take a leaf out of The Art of War and not to confront them directly when approaching temples for that all important challenge or POI. I have successfully entered such areas and managed to get such things by avoiding combat and using stealth. I even run errands for other players (Tyria Assistance Guild [TAG]) to help other players finish the region. It might be best to reconsider your approach AlecJPate.4605 as sometimes the best way to win is not to engage in battle at all. This said, if and when I do have to engage in battle I let them have it – maximum ferocity and know when you’re outclassed. That is why I NEVER engage Champions, but vets (even in Orr) I have for breakfast.
Well the matter of the fact is. That I do avoid combat trying to get the kitten Bathlazar SP, but there are veterans that auto aggro just by being in range. I THEN either, cannot kill them fast enough, OR die to the 3000000000 adds those veterans spawn (between 3 veterans. I’ll be fair). Then If that is not the problem. That stupid fire from the “Contested temple” keeps hitting me as I try to take the skill point.
Which server do you play on?
I moved over to Tarnished Coast around November and have been here ever since. There’s a nice blend of ‘everything seems to always be contested’ and ‘lots of people still around’. I usually just roam around and free contested camps when I can. Some are more difficult than others but you can solo a lot of the camps. Most of the major events you’ll want help and the major temples you need a lot (at least a dozen randoms or 6-8 well communicating guildies).
If you start up an event and map-chat it, usually a few people will come join.
As is, it’s challenging but not impossible. Defending NPCs can be a pain though, they definitely need to scale as the event scales (mainly their HP needs to spike if you’re expected to defend them or implement mechanics that allow you to shield them). All in all, it’s not bad.
If you’re on Tarnished Coast, just holler and people will come
Bring your rez utilities and AoEs.
On Crystal Desert no one is ever there. Everyone has just been farming Queensdale the entire time for the easy 80 loot, and quick events. Every time I holler, or other people. There is a total of maybe 5 people all together doing an event that seems to require a good 10 from how difficult it is.
And the temple of Balthazar when contested rains down fireballs that kill me faster than the veterans I am already fighting. I have been waiting for a week to get that stupid skill point, and still can’t.
Is there anyway you can fix Orr. The whole area is now barren, after the patch fixing the “big brother” system set it. I am trying to get my world completion, and I cannot obtain skill points because of the temples. Or I cannot get a point of interest because the event to make the area accessible is impossible alone.
The problem is that the area is made for a full scale raid, 24/7. This just doesn’t work when no one is ever there. I have done events with 3-6 people and we fail them. The enemy spawns in hundreds, and our ally npc health is ridiculous.
Is there any way you can make it so the scaling is more efficient. If there is NO people at all. Make it so the npc can Actually Hold Their Own. Instead of having places constantly contested and captured by the undead, and not being able to do ANYTHING about it.
It is seriously annoying. Please do something minor to make my life a little easier, and make me not want to send hate mail. Thanks!
There’s no reason to dodge when you’re invulnerable. That this skill can be canceled at all by things like a dodge is an issue that should be fixed.
Well there is no reason to dodge when invulnerable. But there is when it goes off, and the virtues don’t restore until after the invulnerability has ended. Which is why it breaks if you dodge right at the end of the invulnerability.
When I do spvp I dodge a lot to avoid damage, and I will dodge right at the end of Renewed Focus to avoid damage right when the invulnerability will remove. The problem with Guardian’s Renewed Focus is that the skill breaks and it will not renew any of my virtues if the dodge is used right when the virtues are suppose to renew and remove my invulnerability.
I would enjoy this being fixed, because I usually use this, then reuse all my virtus right in the midst of being hammered by enemy skills. This gives me an extra couple of seconds of bunkering before being totally destroyed by the multiple people. Thanks!
This is me just thinking aloud, and I don’t know how difficult this would be to implement.
I thought it would be interesting to base the dungeons on the class value. The loading of the dungeon analyzes the classes (possibly their stats) and adjusts the dungeon based on that. The idea just came up when I was thinking of all the different classes and how some are more efficient with dungeons than others. For instance a elementalist in ascalon catacombs is much more efficient than a thief because of their ice bow.
The dungeon could have a higher aoe mobs if there is multiple classes like an elementalist or engineer, and more condition (cripple, chill, etc.) with classes like guardians. I believe things like this would challenge the full potential of each class in the dungeon.
Considering there are 5 people that this would have to adjust I don’t know how efficient it would be. I just found it as an interesting take on dungeons.
Back during the IP authentication, if you set it to remember your network, it still does that and applies to the authenticator.
I don’t know if I am just crazy, but my network was set to remember before the authenticator, and it would still ask me for the code. I think it might just be bugged.
