There is an interesting game with WvW style in development.

revolution! The sucesfully destroyed one of the best PvE enviorments ever with this stupid dungeon. Nice design, k. But its just the typical gear grind every 0815 MMO has to offer. All other parts are non-existent now. Woh, what a revolution man
I call BS. Nobody and I mean NOBODY has ascended gear yet. There’s no way someone made 1300 tokens in the period of a weekend unless they played in shifts with friends so someone was on the character 24/7 and in a fractal the whole time.
Not true! there are a lot ppl having it allready. 150 Gold and you can craft the bag. scale 10+ and you can get dropped the rings. Gear cheack will come to GW2. Oh it allready is, but it will get even worse, I promise you that. Its just like in other MMO. Eat it or be left behind.
Why people are “whining” I try to explain it for you:
Imagine you go to McDonald’s and order a Happy Meal, you get your burger take 1 bite and then they rip it off from you, replacing it with tofu sausages. And than they say; Hey no problem at all, a lot of people want it, now we deliver it. But of course it was not necessary to tell you, before placing your order. We also know the restaurant down the road sells tofu sausages quite successfully, so we also jumped on the train. And hey no way to be worried, at least you have something to eat don’t starving, so whats your problem.
Would you ever place on order by McDonald’s after this?
it’s so horroble. No way to get into this. Just plain elitism and the community isn’t very nice anymore. The comunity has allready been redered “hateful” with this update. I’ve seen ppl got kicked from groups, becaurse the had noth enought account medals (only 900) or for not beeing lvl 80 and all this. It fells like the WoW comunity allready in decent points, or at least as they are descriped buy others, course I would never play a crap like WoW. And sorry, such a comunity is really not what I was looking for. I know there are a lot of “nice” guys here and I don’t mean to attack anyone personaly. Its just how it feels right now. Take a lock at LA mapchat ~ 100% elitism. I really trieded to give this all a chance, but as more as I try, as more dissapointed I become.
I’ve allready got some infractions for mystirous resons. The way to deal with angry costumors is just, well unique.
its pretty hard to find any low level group. players on scale 1 are pretty much screwed allready. I’ve tried several times, always more than 1 hour and no chance. And it won’t get better in any way, since there is no reset. So you have 2 choises: Jump on the gear grind treatmill right now, or beeing left out forever and from all future content. Easy as that.
and btw. I never had a problem with spending real money on town cloth, if they are nice designd and even when I could have transfered gold for it. It was more about to support the devs.
Pay 2 win would be an improvement over the current system. At least then you could avoid FOTM if you don’t like it and still get the best stats.
Also, it’s not pay to win unless paying is the only way to acquire the stats. If they can be acquired with reasonable effort by non-paying players, it’s only buying time to reach the end quicker.
You can craft the items with 150 + gold per item or start farming a dungeon over and over again for more than 300 hours (only for 1 item). Well you either spend thousend of hours grinding or lots of real cash in order to buy the requirements. Its pay to win, even when its hidden

I would love to pay 4 skins. Unfortunatly I only see pay 2 win options. I’ve planned to waste hundreds of € in the gemstore. No I don’t see this happen anymore. So what do you think? Do you prefer pay 2 win or pay 4 skin mechaniks?
With all the negative topics, just thought I’d say I’m freaking enjoying this game. One of my best purchases EVER. Bought it 1 week after it came out and still enjoying the hell out of it. Grats Anet.
I do share some of the worries of my fellow friends here about ascended gear, being left out of groups or falling behind friends (pretty casual myself), but you know? not all that worried really.
I’ll keep my own pace, and trust this is just what they say it is, a mechanic to help introduce new high end stuff on the long run without sacrificing players that play casually like myself.
I also keep in mind one of the best features, no monthly fees, if this where a monthly subscription MMOs, I would never have even tried it, but now I’m pretty sure ill be buying the expansions too.
Anyway, I guess I just wanted to give a thumb ups to Arena Net on what they have accomplished so far Feels like you guys need a pat in the back after reading through the apparent negativity floating around. Then again, I’m sure you already know satisfied players like are busy actually playing than posting here. Looking forward to what they plan for the future.
Lol, in a weeks time you and your casual play won’t even be able to get a team for the FotM.

I can only say, thanks for the treatmill, thanks for the grind. I don’t like it, I don’t need it. I cut it of right now. When you’re fine with “beeing left out” well, enjoy it than.
I only logged in to take a closer look at the event, but ragequit after a fwe minutes, besides that I havent logged in since the first words of gear progression and I won’t do so anytime soon. Theres just no motivation on playing this game at all right now. But theres a ultra high motivation to be active here, yes its way more fun than the game, atm.

gear treadmill are horroble. Your Char gets worse everytime you log in after a new update. Its not progression at all sice it means to move forward. Gear treadmills are making you move backwards! Its worse and is a huge fun killer.

@ invizo.5408: thats not right, I run 40-50 FPS+ in WvW with nvidia :P.
Never had any problems even in the crowd battle with maxed out settings, guess it’s high end at work…
And for the CPU use, can be rather ticky, mostly it takes more performance to split the data package on several CPUs and put tham back together, than processing them in one core. That’s why most games only use it if necessary, or where it makes sense.
