How about..you get some quickness in your build ?
Its funny you mention that, the recently NERFED arc divider and headbutt are not affected by quickness. Go ahead, try to cast your 1 second arc divider with quickness on.
How do you keep it alive? It is killing itself. Its a meta-biased cyclone of toxic psychopaths who will outwardly rage at you for even playing a build that isn’t the top Metabuild for your class. Be it on your team or otherwise. People who will rage in full caps over the notion that you dare play something that isn’t the standard, on top of the fact that everyone screams at each other if they start losing.
Pvp is a septic wound. An ocean of free floating hostility fueled by rage induced tryhards who will whisper you and then immediately block you to avoid retribution.
You can’t fix it. Its a societal decay of the utmost degree. And as a result, these morally bankrupt troglodytes will completely destroy the pvp scene until its as toxic as league of legends.
A lot of the situations enveloping Tyria seem to point to Primordius as the next dragon to be on our list. As such, I couldn’t help but think to myself, how can Anet give such an expansion with a show stopping announcement? Well, the fanfic-nerd in me immediately thought of the possibility of a new playable race. One I personally… miss a great deal.
Dwarf playable race.
The magic of the great dwarf weakens…. Long has the dragon fed on the magical energies of the depths, and now, it turns to us as a source of its hunger. Stone crumbles and falls to dust from my hands, a surge of blood once again churns in my ashen veins. All around me flesh restored to my kin, their confusion is as profound as my own. My sorrow is immediate, witnessing the devastation our war on the destroyers has wrought. All around us lay broken bodies of my people, perpetually cast into a stone silence.
No longer can we sustain the endless assault of the dragons minions. We have no choice but to retreat. Reluctantly my people leave the war scarred crags of the depths to the surface. However upon our surfacing, we witness something awe inspiring. Grass and trees, deer and fish… life in all its splendor and beauty. The sorrow of defeat no longer weighing upon us, as we realize our sacrifice was not in vain. The world had grown bright and cheery.
Nearby animals curiously watching us as we rejoined Tyria once more. It was then we knew, our fight was not over. With help, we could protect all that was pure and beautiful in this world. We could rise once more! We could succeed…
We set our sights upon a nearby outpost of some sort, where a group of soldiers seems just as bewildered as we are at our situation. They tell us, they are from the pact. Hesitation grips my kin, but upon the sight of two Asura and a Norn in their ranks we soon realize… this could be exactly what we need. A joining of every race in Tyria. Each with their strengths, and none of their weaknesses. Hope fills us for the first time in centuries, it is a welcome sensation.
Today, marks the day we shed the shackles of our legacy, and forge a future worthy not just of dwarves, but all of Tyria!
This is my story.
Nerdy as hell I know, but hey, one can dream.
Had two characters reach 1460 days old today, and I logged into both to claim their rewards, however I was only allowed to pick from the very awesome selection of backpacks 1 time.
Is this a bug or is this actually how its being done, you can only get 1 of these 5 insanely detailed backpacks for your account E V E R ?
Anyone?
There is a myriad of awesome, unobtainable items in the game that can not longer be acquired, even beyond the means of old skins on the Trade post. Giving players another chance at these, would really show a lot of character and support for the community who happened to miss out on these items. For example : I was out of town when the Halo and Horns tonic was released a ways back, and missed out on giving my character a Halo, which would suit her so nicely. But this goes beyond that, this is not me saying “GIVE me these items”. Its me saying “Give us a chance to EARN these lost items.”
Guild wars 2 has holidays throughout quite a few months every year, and there is no reason not to take advantage of this to give players a chance to earn old rewards!. For example. Halloween is nearly upon us, Why not allow players a chance to get The Thoughtful and Thoughtless tonics as a reward for 50 Candy corn cobs. Or have the 2012 Halloween Skins as a possible reward for players doing Meta event where you fight the mad king. The only players out there, who do not want others to get the Chainsaw greatsword, or the Scythe staff, are those who already have it. There is no reason not to allow players to have access to lost skins!
It doesn’t have to stop there, It never did, Take things that the economy desperately needs to have filtered from it, like globs of ecto and then in for a list of very old back skin items that don’t exist anymore.
Want that Jet-pack backpack for Halloween? 250 Ecto and 250 Watchwork sprockets at this ghostly Dredge NPC vendor and its yours.
Missed Tequatl’s Meta event where you could get his wings? Step right up, another 250 Ecto and 250 piles of putrid Essence of from this mysterious Ghostly npc that is only around for halloween.
Did you miss out on those Shatterer wings from 2 years back during the Dragon bash? Cough up 250 Ecto and 100 Stabilizing matrix’s to help balance the economy and give players back what they want!
Ultimately there is no reason not to re-introduce these items to the game for players who are desperate to get their hands on them. In fact, you have already basically done this in the form of the Laurel vendor with S1 items. The fact that his Laurel list is so limited, is the only real downfall that it truly has. Out there, is a wealth of lost items, that never see the light of day, items some people may have even salvaged before the wardrobe was released. Help us to share the wealth of history the game has, even if it means pumping more laurels or even spirit shards into a vendor to get them back in players hands, where they belong.
I encourage anyone out there, who has an item which is no longer obtainable to write it on below this post, to share with the community what you want to see back. We got the Legacy pvp armors back, so don’t think this is impossible if we have loud enough voices.
My examples are.
Decorative Molten Jetpack
Wings of the Sunless
Halloween 2012 Skins (there are a lot of them)
Selfless & Thoughtless Potions.
Holographic Shattered Dragon Wing Cover

Overall Feeling.
Extreme Discontent not only for the future of Pvp (this was my first season) But for pvp in itself. 90% of matches came down to a a shouting match between not only players of the other team, but players of my own team. If we so much as got behind, everyone started yelling at other players for not performing. And if players afk’d to try and give the other team a faster win, they would be mass reported for not playing, even when the match was 50 / 450 in terms of points. Suggesting they were simply doing it out of spite, and to blame someone else for their failings.
Then we had people who I kid you not, would Que into our game on a f2p account, and afk in the starting zone. When asked why they were doing this, the response was "to ensure the MMR balances out for players who are still in the lower brackets. This guy, was a legend on his main account, and was purposefully trying to hinder players from reaching legend, so that he could have the prestige of having the wings, and prevent others from acquiring them.
The term toxic is not a good enough word to describe how I think pvp is in this game right now. The term I would use is Septic. It is a Septic wound, festering with boils and weeping sores. Be it people yelling at players with low scores, or hearing the classic #Rabbit being spammed in map chat by the winning team. This game oozes negativity, and it has made me seriously consider ever stepping into a pvp lobby again. Keep in mind, this is coming from someone who went to T3 ruby, Solo Que only, so I think I have a pretty fair grasp on the pvp, despite the incoming barrage of metalords who will spam me with their 90% win-rate screenshots, further highlighting the Septic nature of pvp in this game.
Then we have the “Meta” Which is a term used to lure people into playing a specific way, ensuring there is no growth or advent of challenge in maps. We have a term for this in a game called Dark souls 3, whenever we see a player with an Estoc or a Darksword, we call them Tryhards. Where players Use specific weapon setups because they are outright broken, ensuring bad players can bypass their inability to play the game, and playing anything that gives them an edge. I specifically went out of my way to avoid the Meta Bow / mace shield for warrior, because in my personal opinion, Meta’s are for players bereft of imagination. Take that as an insult if you prefer, but I refuse to let a Meta define me as a player.
The funny thing, is I know exactly how every single match beyond the middle of Ruby went for you all. It consisted of these four classes in some shape or other. Scrapper spamming reflects and his broken stomp which no other class has access to. Tempest negating all ranged damage effectively rendering O N E H A L F of the weapon setups utterly useless.DH setting traps like they are going out of style, before yanking everyone into them for half of their HP even with 2k Toughness. Reaper Filling your entire bar with Dots and withstanding TWO TO THREE full healthbars worth of damage, if you can even burn them. Oh and lets not forget the occasional Daredevil spamming his wonderful rotation of #5, Evade, #5, #5, Evade, #5, #5.
Do I have a suggestion to fixing this issue? It doesn’t matter what I think, I am so disheartened from my first season experience, that I am honestly not sure if I will play ever again. And ultimately I have to think to myself, if I feel this way, how do the players who have a 15-20% win rate feel about pvp right now? Do they feel “good” when legend players stroke their beards and write their passive aggressive / mockingly posts about “you found your place in the game, you should be happy.” do you really think they do? That’s all I guess.
I’m in the same situation you are in, because I refuse to play the Flavor of the month Elementalist who negates all ranged damage, has 40% protection, and healing auras. Or a boring Dragon Hunter who spams traps and without fail yanks you into them. Or the Scrapper, who can reflect and negate projectiles (effectively countering 50% of all the playable weapon setups) while his little gyro stomps you without him needing to even be looking at you.
These people are efficient at adhering to whatever meta is thrown at them, and are completely bereft of imagination. And yet, they win, because they, much like the Estoc spamming tryhards in Dark souls 3, know they can make up for their shortcomings, by playing the most broken things in the game.
Oh, and of course, we can’t forget the Current peak of toxicity infesting ranked matches when the winning team gives you the mandatory #Rabbit. Suggesting you are not even familiar with pvp. Just more of that great GW2 community everyone hyped me up for when I started to really try for pvp this season.
Here’s a suggestion. Leaving items up for more than 3 days at a time. Getting angry every time I see a new glider go up on the store, only to realize I don’t get paid for another week and have to wait an arbitrary amount of time before I get the chance to snag it in its next 3 day cycle. I’m looking at you Phoenix Glider skin.
Incentives to buy things are not encouraged when you hold a clock in front of people and say “BETTER HURRY”. It is just frustrating.
I spent 50$ USD on 50 boxes. No tickets were in said boxes, and I simply had a giant empty space in my bank where money once was. And for what, 500 taffy, some random food buffs?
If you are reading this, please, I beg you to spare me the lecture of “its a gamble”. No, its not a gamble, this was faith. My faith in Anet to reward me for supporting the game (which btw, ive already dumped over 750$ into the gemstore). And what have I got to show for it, moreso, what do we ALL have to show for it? No really, stop typing for two minutes and think about the implications of what these practices have earned us. For all our sacrifice, we still have nothing promised from launch onward.
We still have no Polymock, we still have no barbrawl. We are promised dungeons with challenging content which can be 2 manned (Null comes to mind.) We still have a distinctly broken economy where those who exploited have 6 legendaries, while the honest are broke. And worst off, a game, which not only has become a bigger grind than AION, but one that has no diverse reason to grind.
Where is the litany of unique and themed skinned armors ready to be implemented into the game? Is that going to be put into a future gamble box as well ? I mean have any of you even looked at what took place over the last 3 months?
We have Forged ticket, South sun Karka ticket, and the Dragon skin ticket. All back to back, in a uniformed Ncsoft fashion.
Am I supposed to just smile like some letch and mindlessly enter my card information in, in some hope that I get JUST ONE of the skins I want? Despite having 3 characters, who all would enjoy displaying these beautiful weapons?
I… I just feel, like I have a deficit of negative adjectives I could use to describe the current, money grabbing situation we are facing, MONTH AFTER MONTH.
I know nobody from Anet is reading this, and I know furthermore, that none of them really care about my little drop of money that I spent in the grand scheme. But if this is the state of the game, where me wanting to support the game, is met with a giant and swift punch in the gut. It is obvious to anyone with even remote intelligence, that I certainly will not be supporting this game from here on out.
And for the first time since I started playing. I honestly feel a sense of Shame, out of having 45/50 Hall of monuments. Knowing that my effort, has led to a game supporting a practice, aimed at rewarding only those who have the deepest pockets.
I have said my peace, I will type no more, and I will read no more.
Please google logical fallacies and learn from the list of incorrect arguments, if you insist on trying to have a unbiased response to my feelings. Otherwise you will simply be ignored.

People are upset because its an obvious cash grab. Its little more than a dev saying to the support team. “How can we make people buy more black lion keys.” And one of them says, “lets put some more rare skins in them, people love rare skins. But lets also make sure its less thakitten% chance, ensuring that people have to constantly buy to even get a shot.”
I know this is true because I just took a little expendable income I had, bought 60 Keys. Which btw is 5,600 gems(75 dollars). And out of those 60 keys, I got an additional 20 keys. Making the grand total attempt’s to get a Fused weapon ticket, 80.
Out of those 80 tries, the only items of value i received were.
~ 1 Hairstyle kit
~3 Dye kits
~1 Charr backpack
~3 BL salv kits
and 1 Fusion ticket.
I know they don’t want people saying “don’t buy this” but if you want to gauge your risk vs reward in this type of rng system. Prepare to be disappointed.
1 out of 80 tries.
I think the masses have spoken, the small guilds are in agreement that the current system alienates them from the guild mission content.
So what exactly is the Solution you are wondering.
Well the solution is actually in game already.
————————————
GUILD LICENSE
————————————
Yep, The guild license is the key to Making it easier for EVERYONE to experience the content provided with this recent patch.
So here is an example of what I am talking about.
Guild A has 9 players in it.
Guild B has 85 players in it.
& Guild C has 160 players in it.
Guild A has the default tier of guild status, and therefor does not need to update to tier 2, meaning their total influence cost to unlock the guild mission is 10,000.
-
Guild B has the tier 2 guild status, due to needing more members, and has the total influence cost to unlock the SAME guild mission is 20,000 influence.
-
And if you are following the pattern here, Guild C would be 30,000.
So with that in mind, I’m sure some of you are saying, well what is preventing people from exploiting this, and just branching off into a smaller guild to only have to pay 10,000.
Well that’s where the beauty of the license system comes into play. Every time the guild upgrades to the next tier, their missions become locked until they pay the remaining influence needed for that tier.
So going into an example again.
lets say Guild A has an explosion of members and needs to upgrade to tier 2.
They have unlocked their 10,000 influence quest, but now have it blocked again, until they pay 10,000 more influence to get up to the Tier 2 guild fee of 20k Influence for said mission.
Do you see where I’m going with this ? And before you scream at me that its unfair to block players from simply upgrading their numbers, you are missing the point entirely.
This is not meant to be a punishment to deter people from forming larger guilds. It is simply a balance to ensure that every guild pays their due for having a larger license.
Make no bones about it, if guild A went from 9 to 75 players. They would make that 10,000 Influence fee in absolutely no time at all.
I am bringing all this forward, because I know, personally, hundreds of players who feel discouraged that they have to expand their guild… when they formed it due to RL relationships. Or simply want to have a tight nit group of friends.
This should not be discouraged, but embraced. As we ALL have different preferences. And in guildwars 2, the main point of the game is to play it how you want. From the class, to the weapons, to the traits. To how you find your gear.
Crafting, Dungeons, farming, WVW… its all about choice.
And with this recent update, the game has moved away from that level of choice, in favor of the masses. Where you join a guild and become another faceless body in their endless ranks.
I for one, vote that the power be balanced in a more reasonable way. Ensuring that players can always do the things they want. And never feel that they have to abide by some arbitrary ruleset that demands they genuflect to the next big thing, less they fall behind in the content
If you approve this message. Please mark this up and Quote it in your post, that way Anet can see, they have a solution right in front of them. They just have to notice it.
:)
