Reward Track Question

Is there a way to turn off a reward track that you do not want? Everytime my wvw reward track completes it defaults to Gift of Battle and accumulates there until I change it again. I now have enough Gifts of Battle to make multiple legendaries and since I am not making any atm, I don’t need any more. if there isn’t any chance it is easy to fix to just stay on the same reward track?

I am not suggesting that it be marked for all players. Just the ones with in line of sight. Similar to how you can see your servermates in the area show with a green dot the enemies in your immediate area would be red dots.

I am not looking for more gimmicks like scouting blimps, etc. It would be more interesting to be able to compare the number of red dots to blue/green dots in a fight. So many times you hear we are out numbered or they are so fat because the name tags make it look like more on the opposing side. this would provide a more apples to apples view. I am not looking for the entire map just within sight line.

Then perhaps I don’t have settings correct but the enemy groups on my mini map don’t show unless they are down or perhaps marked by a sentry. I will check my settings.

Not sure I get your point on the scouting thing since it would be in your viewing area so if you can see them they have already been scouted.

Not that I want to stop the salt that this whole your blob is bigger than my blob generates each and every night in WVW. But since no one seems to be able to count anyone that is not in squad, I propose that we show the reds on the mini map when we are engaged in fighting. Just on the mini map so that we have both sides of the picture when the hate whispers come and for the videos that we all know and love watching.

I wouldn’t think this would be a difficult change you have to show that information on each of the different servers maps anyways and since everyone says it is because red name plates look like more people it would give a more accruate perspective. Or make it a command that give a count in 2000-2500 range but the distance should not be anymore than you can see.

Personally, I would love it if you made local outmanned buff (not necessarily bonus to your skills – maybe magic find and kills bonus) since the fun of fighting outmanned for the challenge not to get special bonuses to offset your numbers.

How would you suggest fixing the fun factor in this case? For me the incentive towards blobbing on multiple fronts removes from that fun factor as you call it.

I agree. The same thing is to be said for blobbing. Though Anet has put down a foundation to make it beneficial, it is us the players that determine if it is going to be used and abused. Unfortunately, the player base has decided that blobbing is more important that strong skill play anymore

I would definitely be interested in the avg population during each timezone the different servers.

No one cares about server pride any more.

All WvW players and WvW guilds want now are fights.

You get more fights in the top tier servers.

So they are moving up to those servers.

Simply put it’s another nail in the coffin of WvW.

FA and DB seem to be different IME. Not that people don’t like to fight, and not that there aren’t people who just want to fight. But both have people that are trying to win the match rather than uniblob against the competing servers in the middle of an open field for no reason. I know there is server pride on FA. It might not be server pride on DB, but it feels like it.

Are you saying that the other servers aren’t blob mentality? Look at any other server and you will see the exact same thing. Every server has pugmanders tag that will have lots of people on it. But the lack of individual guild groups that are willing to run separately is dwindling on ever server. But to single FA and DB out as blob servers, you are being blind.

For local outnumbered, I would make it a PPK buff so if you are outnumbered your kills are worth more. Many times you may not be outnumbered as a BL but there is definitely a local outnumbered when you come against a group of 40+ with your 15. If they are going to increase PPK they need to do something to help provide incentive to fight as smaller groups because increasing PPK just provides incentive to fight blob v blob. I wouldn’t mind a better magic find off a PPK buff too though since the kills are harder to come by

The first week of the quad server, triple server and duo server pairing was a blow out so even if it was old data they could have easily changed it that next week when they swapped the dh pairing. At this point though, I am not sure that T4 is worth having. And I think they really need to look at their population formula because there seems to be a big flaw in it.

If you want to drive everyone to continue blob v blob then the current mechanic and many of your proposals will influence it to continue. There is and will continue to be no real reason not to blob. And it will cause people to play less since there will be little reason to defend things once you have reached your ppt cap. So the limited number of defenders will continue to shrink and then the server that hasn’t reached their PPT for the week will be left to pounding doors. But if you enjoy killing keep/tower lords then ya that will be there for you.
If you did –
1st World to “Rank-Up” – Status changed to “Completed” & their PPT Score Stops Increasing. – like you are suggesting it would be like when you are in a keep hoping pugs will get out of the cap circle so you can draw fights. Servers would beg their pugs not to cap so they aren’t the first. You would have to essentially put a cap to all 3 servers to make this work in my opinion

All I see is a movement to more blobbing with the increased PPK. I don’t really see the increase as a benefit to making guerilla tactics. People won’t want to fight outmanned since you will hurt PPK. You can see that in many of the servers already WvW have moved from smaller group fights to blob v blob even in the non T1 servers. Servers that don’t follow that are basically mowed down until they finally follow suite.

Perhaps that is what people want – blob v blob. That is not my preferred game play. I think if we want to get away from blob v blob there has to be incentive to do so and awarding PPK ranges (based on the fight ratio 1:2 , 1:3, etc) . You could change it to not have PPT but then there is no real reason to keep towers etc. Keeps and garri would still provide benefit in the form of waypoints.

Wouldn’t this PPT cap basically kill WvW for some servers once they hit the cap? This would likely help out some servers but others where they have people that enjoy "borderland mom like activities (defending) I think it would essentially have their players not log in towards the end of the week. I don’t disagree that something needs to change but not sure that this would help keep the population going just like many of the other suggestions that Anet has produced, i think that it would hurt more than it helps.

I agree outmanned should play a better role but I would suggest that it is even more than that. I suggest that it even be in fights some sort of outmanned in the proximity. Perhaps that would help provide some incentive to not just blob fight all the time. Instead everyone just blames the other servers for being the reason they blob

There is always someone on so that is unlikely to really help to say if 1 person gets killed. But I do think you could weight the points based upon the size of each server during that time period so if 1 server has a map queue, another server has a small contingent and one server has few that the points are assigned accordingly so it makes it less beneficial to just pvd with a huge mass. Same could be done with fights. Say one group has 20 people and the other has a queue the kills made by the group of 20 should be worth more than the kills by the map queue.

Reset Time Change Please

The problem I see for West Coast making reset at 5pm is that a large number of us West coast will end up spending our first few hours of reset waiting in Queues to get to play because we cant get on until after everyone has hit a map. So RIP running with your guild group for the first 2-3 hours of reset. I am for making it 6pm year west coast time year round.

I think that by increasing the number of points associated with a kill may actually promote blobbing more so because now people will be less willing to fight outmanned – thus the smaller group will end up running or finding someone to blob with. Blobbing has already started to take over the game play enough. If you are going to assign points on a kill basis it should take into perspective the number of players fighting each other and awarding it that way (ie. 30 players vs 10 so the 30 players should get 1 point per kill versus the 10 players would get 3 and when they were more even then the points would be 3 each. Plus if done right you would actually be able to see how many there are on the other team (ofc this would make some people sad since they could no longer say they are fighting with just “7 people in squad” when there are 30 people fighting with them.)
