what different will it make if they create two packages
1 Gw2+Hot and another standalone HoT?

They will both cost $50 (Gw2 is free for the billionth an 1 time) and they will work exactly the existant package does.

When they sold Guild Wars 2: they said you can buy this House and some time later you can add a pool to it, but still you will need this House that costs 50$.

Now they are selling Gw2:HoT: if you buy the pool we will throw in a House for free and it will cost you only 50$ you dont need to own a house anymore.

The question is : IF you allready own a house do you need the pool? what has the pool to offer? Maybe it isnt even a pool, just a puddle!!

Im just wondering what were they working on for these 3 long years. They did not fix the neverending “Zerker Meta”, Endgame is a grindquest for gold unless you’re blessed by the gods of RNG , ASC gear added only more grind… And besides this “Fun stuff” that ppl were complaining about for 2+ years (Grind philosophy) there was LS witch i don’t care so much about… I get a feeling that when in bought GW2 i got myself in to a BETA the changes they implemented over the time were mostly for new players anyways, while ignoring the veterans as would Vayne say “Vocal minority”.

Well after reading the thread i came to a conclusion. I have winter here in Poland and lots of free time and so i spend lots of it by my PC or console, i have the game for like 2 years have smth like 6300 AP points and a feeling that i did not rly do anything meaningful in GW2 i tried 2 get legendary because i felt that would be it, so i played more than ever before with the mystic toilet and that did not work for me. So i tried different method and did more dungeons to get that gold and buy it from tp so i grinded them for like 1 week straight AC/SE/COE/TA/COF/Arach i did not do every single path in each dungeon only the fastest ones and failed with it because i was borred of the grind. Im the kind of person that rather does stuff that is exciting fun and challenging so Collecting stuff like the collections is not for me i hate that, just like gathering those AP and Crafting i hate it. PvPin GW2 its some of the worst experience in my short 29 years of life. When i buy a game after finishing it or just having it, makes me feel good like: This game was worth the 60$ for example: Tekken games they stay like 80% of the time in my console love them and online pvp ;] totaly worth the money
Counter strike is a cheap shooter but i play it for 14-15 years, i like it. Gw1 is among those games i had fun with it. But Gw2 is a complete 180 turnaround for me i tried too see smth more in this game try to understand ppl like Vayne who are loving it and i just can’t, maybe its a state of mind or whatever so the conclusion is:
This game is simply not for me!!!

As this is probably my last post: Cu guys in another Place different corner of the wast internet ;] and probably some other game ;]

If people feel the ranger is bad enough to quit over, that is indeed their opinion. And they expressed it. I expressed a contrary opinion. Other people share my opinion. I don’t know why you have a problem with this. I didn’t say this person doesn’t have a right to his opinion, but I do believe he’s overstating his case.

Considering how many 80th level rangers I see running around, I’d have to say I’m not alone.

Class is not so tragic ppl playing it are, push backs require positioning and pets demand attention.

This is a completely different topic:

“Having an endgame, thinking you need one, and designing your game around it — this is the core problem of the MMO genre. No matter how hard you spin it, when you create a game with an endgame, you create a game with an end… and not much else.”

Quote from: “http://massively.joystiq.com/2014/03/14/working-as-intended-endgame-is-the-worst-thing-that-ever-happen/

I feel Gw2 is exactly that no endgame you do what you have been doing since lvl 1:
“So the endgame is a endless repetition of Dungeon/Fractals/World Bosses and more.. while collecting collections in order to unlock some Cosmetics that grant Achievement points upon finishing the Living Story for the sake of distracting you from the endless Gold Grind to buy some more Cosmetics.”

While a endgame should be essential to game as it should provide challenge, reward for the veteran players that’s why you have ppl soloing dungeons because after the time has passed they do not provide any sort of challenge, not only that but soloing a dungeon path can earn you much more gold than a 5 man full run and this should be an MMO after all.

End game in this game could be:

Living Story (Lvl 80)
Explorer Dungeons (Lvl 80)
fractals (Lvl 80)
WvW (Lvl 80)
Achievement points
Collections (Lvl 80)
Cosmetics
World bosses (most Lvl 80)
and more…

Sadly there hasn’t been and updates to Dungeons, fractals and WvW for a while and the so called End Game content has been old and booring and thats it.
Call it Stuff, content or End game content it is still stuff to do once you hit level 80. I do not call it End Game content becouse it is not the end of the game. GW2 is evergrowing and it never ends, I see no end in this tunnel.

So the endgame is a endless repetition of Dungeon/Fractals/World Bosses and more.. while collecting collections in order to unlock some Cosmetics that grant Achievement points upon finishing the Living Story for the sake of distracting you from the endless Gold Grind to buy some more Cosmetics.

The problem is that people still have the ancient MMO mentality that the level and the gear make the end game, and that isn’t how GW2 was designed. Gehenna, Alvagon, the very first thing you have to do before continuing is throwing everything you’ve ever experienced in previous MMO’s out the window, because GW2 is not now nor will it every be like them, and you’ll continue to be sorely disappointed if you keep that mentality.

Y i can see your point in previews MMos i did lvl up got the gear grinding threw the world with my Guild/Clan only to get too the point where we felt rdy to challenge others and the world itself striving for a common goal witch was obtaining a castle
buy a clan hall kill the biggest boss in the game fight for the glory and make name for the guild, Help pll to get to the point in game where the rest of guild was… I miss this…

Yea i fear that after 2-4 weeks after release i will be in the same exact spot as im now.

What would you want to do as end game?

Duno make WvW more a Strategy + skill rather than a numbers game. Maybe events in PvE impact the world smth like COF event, Guild influence tune it so that doing events not only guild missions gives rewards for your guild not how its now when we sit at stacks of it and don’t have anything 2 spend it on.

What is the endgame in GW2 what do you do after getting 80 lvl and full exo gear ?

After seeing this topic " https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Your-goals-in-the-world-of-Tyria "

I feel like this is the answer, and in reality Gw2 is a Pokemon game with the slogan “Get them all” and because im not that type of a person that gives a kitten about collections, Achievement Points etc… I’m getting bored instead longing into the game i write stupid stuff here, like this topic and the concept of endgame in GW2 witch is a sad mystery too me. Well in quest for my answer i found this:

“BY CHARLES ONYETT Right after creating a character and taking your first steps into Guild Wars 2 you’ll be able to participate in what’s essentially end game content. Player versus player arenas can be accessed at any time to hop into short-duration battles between two teams. Or you could drop into the World versus World system”

“Though there’s a lot of complexity to the skill system, its intricacies might be drowned out by the chaos of huge groups swarming into each other and using superior numbers overwhelm all else. ArenaNet hopes to curb the effectiveness of this ‘zerging’ tactic through a variety of objectives and methods to alter the tide of battle”

And this is exactly why i dont like WvW (Endgame):

“So zerging is effective but what we’ve seen is zerging is generally the first step of acceptance into the game. It’s the easiest thing for people to understand. You’re just in a big group, you’re running around, don’t really know what’s going on but [you’re] doing stuff. And then you start picking it up.”

Sadly i have only that kind of experience and am still not able to pick it up.

Source “http://uk.ign.com/articles/2012/08/25/guild-wars-2-the-end-game
GUILD WARS 2 / 24 AUG 2012

And if this all is rly true and the Endgame in deed is, or are the pvp modes that i hate so much because of there shabbiness. Did the game end for me even before i got that 80 and exo ?

Because right now, yes, getting Ascended Armor is either a very expensive endeavor, or a very long grind of doing the same mundane tasks to get the materials needed to make the armor. Hiding behind the arugment of “But we have more then one way to get those materials” doesn’t work either, as like I said before those other methods are either just as repetitive (replacing World Boss grinding with Guild Mission grinding for Dragonite Ore, as an example) or so unrewarding (PvP Tracks), that there’s very little reason to actually do it.

OK but that’s inventing your own definition of what grinding is so of course you conclude you have to grind. The relevant one is from Anet’s perspective because they design the game. If your definition of grind includes multiple methods to be done to get the mats then no reasonable content can be devised to ensure you don’t think the game will be a grind for ascended gear. Literally, Anet would have to devise content for EVERY instance of need some portion of the mats you need to satisfy an extreme definition of no grinding. I think we can agree that would be insurmountable.

he clarified what he means by grind, but regardless of what he means, the “grind” that people often dislike involves repetive non interesting tasks that you have to do many many times to achieve your goals.

now if he means by the definition i just gave, masteries, and this expansion wont be grindy, then many will be happy.

But if he simply means it will either not be required for survival, or that there will be multiple repetive, uninteresting things you can do 1000s of times, they wont be that happy.

what people in this thread are trying to point out, is that regardless of what colin means when he says grindy, the game overall in fact feels very grindy to them. So much so that whenever they mention a lack of grind the players feel a strong disconect with how they expereince the game, and what the developers think is happening.

this bothers them a lot, not just because grind exists, but it makes it seem like the developers arent really on the same page as the players.

a grindy game where the developers are like we want people who put a lot of time in to feel rewarded, or we want you to be working on X item for 3 months. At least you are sure the developers intent. But when people hear them say gw2 isnt grindy, they are often like wait what? you mean you didnt do that on purpose? Im not supposed to be gathering gold or grinding cloth for my ascended armor for 30 days?

I agree too pretty much everything that phys.7689 posted in this thread, nicely done Sir!!
to ppl like Stark…. please read the post 2 more times before replying….

As for myself i like too ad only that the nonexistent endgame is what bothers me the most, after getting my Toons to 80 and full exo etc there isn’t rly anything to doo, just the option to repeat all the content that the game has too offer for all eternity. The Pvp in this game is so bad i can only compare it to Call of duty the skill lvl is so low,
at least in my eyes. For pvp i play games like: CS:GO, Tekken, LoL, SC2 trying to get into it, need more knowledge xD

As for games that had fun endgame in my opinion was Lineage 2, Perfect world…
Castle sieges, Territory wars had an impact on the world and ppl in it… War system and clan wars ohh… I miss the hunts for ppl at 3am etc… Fun memories ;] Of shaping the world in witch you’re playing in ;] and spending time ;]

At launch 1st time i tried pvp i was trying 2 hit an Asura behind a rock or smth and could not, while he was kicking my kitten attacking from behind it so i thought that it was a good spot and was standing there with my Norn well it turned out that it was only a good spot for an Asura and the broken hitbox… It was a GG for me and left the mode for years…

Recently i went over the whole hassle switch some gear, take some builds etc…
And went unranked of course the option of same models does not work there,
decided to give it a try anyways. At first it was smth new, after 3rd mach it become boring…

Now my biggest Problem with Pvp, Wvw is that you need 2 go over the whole switching gear change skills witch some of those work differently, Wvw is still a numbers game rather than strategy and cooperation. Because of the changes they are making for PvP, PvE is less and less enjoyable. They are trying so hard to get on the whole E-Sport train when they should focus on the game as a ONE, not 3 different mods. Also as some one mentioned before the maps in PvP are a cluster f… 2 small…

I do try to log in everyday do some dungeon etc.. in hope for a better future… but every patch note i’m losing hope more, and less i feel like i want too login… And i don’t even want too watch Gw2 pvp on twitch… It discuses me seeing it…

For Pvp i play regularly games like :
CS:GO, Tekken, LoL, recently ive been trying too learn SC2 witch has community lvl of toxicity close to -10% just awesome ppl.

PS.
I did rly enjoy pvp in Lineage 2 back in the day ;]

Don’t need so many zerkwars. Optimised groups run 1x zerkwar 1x S/F ele 1x zerkthief 1x zerkguard 1x zerkbombengi/assassin-zerkmes.

While it’s less suboptimal than 5x necros, 4x wars 1x guard is nowhere near optimal.

Whether or not it’s ‘meta’, defining ‘meta’ as ‘most popular party composition’, that would depend greatly on your timezone, chosen content and/or your guild’s preferences, but popularity does not necessarily make things optimal.

orly?
These guys don’t. They seem pretty “optimized” in this here run.

I highly doubt PvE was even remotely considered with the changes coming to might, I basically stemmed from the need to tone down the might-stacking celestial built spvp elementalist and engineers

This. If you think this change has anything to do with PvE, then i have a bridge to sell you.

Because, like, you know, e-Sports!

Yea and we drifted out of the topic of might xD

As for e-Sports and PvP in this game i hope it DIES so they maybe start treating the game as One, instead of 3 different mods.

“Guard is there for snip. +150 Toughnes etc….”

Its not a quote its manipulation of my post.

“The whole " group in one spot" thing is relative – the range on a lot of these is big.
GW2 was never intended for players to stand still. Even in a small area you can still dodge around and run in circles and remain on the move while still in that same small area.
Stacking Warriors is the way to go only if your party is terribly bad. There’s no excuse for needing a warrior to stay alive in GW2 right now given that the game has been out so long there’s an abundance of guides to make you improve your game and learn the encounters to the point where you don’t need to be a warrior to survive."

My posts are about maximizing DPS and efficiency of dungeon clearing and why Zerker Warriors are the best choice for that in a scenario of 3 Zerk wars 1 Phalax war and 1 Guard, the Guard fills the role of Buffer, Healer, Protector, (Mesmer as he provides quickness to all nearby allies). In witch case Stacking is a tool just too do it even faster…

“A guard is not required for dps. Guards are there for survivability – and to compensate for others making mistakes – which can, and will happen even amongst the best of players.”

Exactly that i just wrote it detail what his job is…

“Guard is there for Condi removal, block projectals if needed, Timewarps, Boons
Wars have trait that gives 1% dmg for boon and guards max it out… while keep them making dps… +150 Toughnes etc….”

So i do not understand ?
“I highly suggest you go away and learn the meta before commenting further.”

“Moving around =/= not attacking. If this is the case for you, rethink the way in which you move in combat.”

“I all comes down too efficiency ,and type of the encounter”
Wariors do not max dps with bow or rifle and some bosses drop aoe direct under them.

“A guard is not required for dps. Guards are there for survivability – and to compensate for others making mistakes – which can, and will happen even amongst the best of players.”

They are there for maxing might and Vulnerability.

I all comes down too efficiency ,and type of the encounter yes you can doge and runn all day long but at the same time your DPS is going down hard coz your not attacking. Staying inside a symbol is not a easy task and those are Combo Fields witch grant you additional benefits. And yes Party composition is important with 1 guard and 1 phalax war you can pull the max DPS that warriors can do and maintain it.

I’m afraid this will only encourage more and more the “Zerker War or kick” meta. Now days if you have like 3 wars and 1 of them is phalax you can easily fill rest of the party
with what ever classes, just so you can start the dungeon alrdy… Coz you know you have high enough DPS to run it with no problem.

“Speccing for armor was never designed to be viable in GW2’s PVE because the whole concept of the game revolves around organic combat where you move and avoid and time your defenses instead of standing still – being hit – and just not caring”

Duno about that coz some skills especially Symbols, Wells or even Shouts etc… Force you to group in one spot. And because of that and the fact that in heavy armor you can benefit from those while not dying in 1 hit Stacking Warriors is the way 2 go.
Only TimeWarp has a decent range that allows you 2 doge easily and not move out from it.

I think it won’t be a full expansion just a LS continuation they will tell us how GW2 Great is due to lunch in China and how many Daily Logins they have (Daily rewards will boost this greatly while guilds disappear…) etc…

What i would want from and big patch or a game update would be:
1. Less grind like they promised when i bought the game.
2. RNG this is just stupid…
2. Mobs aggression now its working same as RNG…
3. Skills – Skills – Skills
4. Jade quarry battles from GW1 (Moba style pvp) – Loved it!!!!

55 Hit ting a group of mobs with a GS and landing a strike just on 3 is just dumb its not so Great anymore i hate target caps on skills that makes no sense….

6. The game is called Guild Wars but there is no “prestige” smth that tells you “man this guild is awesome” its just “After Team Prime and Team SALA were eliminated in the semifinals, the Abjured and European team the Civilized Gentlemen faced off in some of the most heart-stopping tournament matches in Guild Wars 2 history.” or just change name to Team Wars….

7. WvW make it less Zerg 2 win….

And the most important part what would i want too see is Anet work together on content and game, not like its now “teams” working on WvW, PvP, LS …..

Just my humble opinion.
:P
