First few bits – nice
Final Fight – Confessors end? Personally having my hand trapped in a meat blender and having to gnaw my arm off at the shoulder to release the trapped arm would be a pleasanter experience. How on earth your ‘game play’ testers passed this off as worthy of GW2 is simply beyond me. Counter Magic Icon – disappears far too quickly. Dying instantly when you have just used the Portal to get back into the fight. Having Countess Anise res you (which takes far too long) and then dying instantly as soon as you get back on your feet.
I’m still in the middle of my first characters fight as I type this – All of his armour is damaged beyond repair and I have no way to repair it in the instance.
The best bit? I’ve supposedly got to have fun whilst doing this with all my other characters – the sad part? I only have two arms to trap in a meat blender, so heaven knows what I’m going to do after running two characters through this travesty.
The Asura who has an aversion to Owls in Snowden Drifts – always makes me laugh, despite his obvious distress.
Rikkiti in Metrica Province, especially when he exclaims that he isn’t stupid.
Any news on this one? Just been to the area and yep, still spawning level 80 Harpy Hunters – one shot you to death.
Didn’t the person who apparently ‘fixed’ the bug causing the event to stall actually play through the event and ensure that it was ‘working as intended?’ or perhaps they were called off to make another urgently needed glider skin for the store….
Personally I loved the look of the Desert Borderlands – the graphics were superb. The biggest problem with them though was that they were just too big.
The introduction of the old Alpine borderlands will highlight the opposite. With the server sharing, they’re too small.
Atm it looks like there is a massive turnover of keeps, camps etc dominated yet again, not by skill but by strength of numbers. Biggest zerg takes all. With the size of the zones its like a steamroller just rampaging through smaller guilds/groups.
Give it a few days and you’ll probably see most of the BL’s stagnated in the colour of the dominant server in the matchup.
There needs to be a fine tuning of the zones. Desert Borderlands needed some ability to move around the zones a little, albeit with a penalty for reuse – perhaps something like one way transporters with a resuse timer, whilst I think Alpine needs stronger walls/doors on the keeps and towers to slow down captures and allow counterattacks.
Took the advice given and downloaded the 64bit client. Managed to get through a successful DS attack without a crash so that is a good sign. Will have to see what happens on future run throughs.
Anet still need to step up to the plate and sort out the bugs in the finale of the HoT story mission though. Don’t get me wrong, I actually like HoT it is challenging, but to have the end event as bugged as it is, is simply not on.
The only fear I have now is that the Spring update is incoming in a few days I really do hope it has fixes for the HoT story ending rather than a case of “ooo shiney object over there look, see, oh what was that HoT?, oh no, just move on nothing more to see here, look shinies that way……”
Well this is a first for me, I’m not a big user of the Forums. I’m not a hardcore user, just someone who over the last few years has hauled 7 characters through normal PvE content, done the storylines, followed the Living world episodes and managed to do 508 levels in WvW (most solo, but some with guilds).
I like Guildwars 2, it’s can be played in short bursts or all day if you want – and I’ve always found it to be fun. Some of the content can be challenging, but if you plug away at it you’ll succeed.
That is until today.
I’ve just busted my **** off in work for the last three days, you know the sort of really crappy shifts that make you think “thank god there is a day off coming up”.
I’ve done a few things that needed to be done and this afternoon I thought I would try to get my Revenant through Hearts an Minds. You know, play the game for a bit of fun and stress relief (!)
2nd biggest mistake I made today. Absolute frustration – bugs galore. If I ever see Canach in real life I’m going to find his non existant shield and shove it so far up he will be able to see his tonsils in the reflection off it.
Gave up in the end.
Soooo I decide to do Dragon Stand (this is the biggest mistake today). I get taxied into a nice full zone. Wonderful, here goes. Central track, we’re doing well. We get to the gate, other two tracks get to their gates not long after us and then we all run around in circles for a bit (hey this is a really good taxing mechanic Anet content designers – well done… /cough).
So we all managed to beat the respective champions and off we go into the Island phase. Hey we’re not doing bad here either, short while later we get the mouth of Mordremoth to about 15%. I jump into an updraft to get to one island that needs some help and BAM……
Yep, you guessed it crashed to Desktop with some sort of serious error and the Anet box telling me I can send them a message “to help improve the game”.
Thankfully I’m in a squad/group. Log back in. Can I rejoin that map. Can I hell. Get some message telling me about some network error. Weird because I’m actually connected to the Internet and GW2 other wise I wouldn’t have been able to see the network error message n the first place!
So Anet programmers. Thank you, really, thank you for an amazing night…….
Perhaps at sometime you could take a break from Glider skins and do something about this sort of thing.

Just logged in and selected my warrior. Got the daily log in chest. Another chest popped up alongside it. Opened the daily log in chest and then opened the second chest. This second chest told me that I had completely trained my warriors Berserker trait line and gave me a Helmet as a reward.
Erm ok, considering I hadn’t completely finished training this trait line last night when I logged off (I was round one third of the way round), this was a little bit of a surprise.
Bug? Intended? Who knows, perhaps Anet can take a look.
