Sry I didn’t read all posts – just wanted to give you a few numbers.
I, myself, am pretty high on the leaderboard -currently between 10 and 12 in EU.
The AP come from 21.705 (9.055 Daily and 1.751 Monthly)
For your info – I have done every monthly so far (not counting around 20 from a bugged month) and every Daily. I just stopped doing the PvP-Tournament Dailies that were released this December. I guess therefore I missed around 400 points.
So I guess the maximum Daily points lie somewhere around 9.500 at this moment.
People will start hitting the cap in around a month or so – counting 20 total possible dailies.
For the monthly it will take at least 3 more years to reach the cap – if they don’t overhaul the system as it is now (which they said they will do – in the Blog-post).
I am really thrilled by this update, because in like a few weeks i can sit on my hard work and (theoretically) never do dailies again without losing out.
This might leave a bitter taste for some players – but yeah – we high rank players did the work – we deserve it.
All of you will catch up to us sooner or later with way less effort.
And one last thing i just can’t stay silent about – as much as I respect all of your opinions – please stop kittening about the changes if you are nowhere near the cap! (and maybe might not even play the game long enough to reach it) xD

Not that it matters that much, but I really think something went wrong with their new Matchup-system!
According to the new system the chances that Abaddon gets Drakkar is around 1% and to get Surmia it’s even less than 1%. (EU)

The other way around it’s nearly the same. Just Drakkar vs. Surmia seems probable.
Guess Abaddon was left and distributed to us lucky ones! xD

Although when I look at the last dev-post in this Suggestion category i fear we won’t be heard…
Did it drive you as insane as it did for me to leave those Ap behind? One thing I thought of is the other day I spent a bit of time doing 30 keg brawl matches as i never did go back when they updated that place. 30wins got me 5ap. If I am hunting down achievements that get me 5ap, the 4 from the PvP dailies are really going to start to add up.
I ended up losing all interest last night and just logged out. I realized after that there were new crafting achievements, and 2 living story categories to get, but I just didn;t care enough to log back in.
1.) WTF!? Are you serious! Raging like crazy!
2.) Going in neutral state and analyzing it closely. Doing some Team and Solo-Matches and picturing me doing this every day…
3.) Falling in some kind of depression while realizing – I can’t keep this up… or rather I don’t want to keep doing this…
4.) Get reminded of all this time spent in the game and doing dailies in the nights before updates, because I feared A-net would screw something up again with the daily/monthly… – getting even more depressed.
5.) Getting indifferent and having a look at the new crafting I really looked forward to and had planned out everything for months.. who cares…
6.) Shedding a final tear with the start of the new daily and knowing those missed 2 ones will never come back…
7.) Feeling bad, but still deciding to keep up my regular daily…
Honestly it’s really everything or nothing for me and I don’t want to quit (the achievement hunt / the game) completley, but keeping this up while feeling bad about a game I should enjoy? I hope it won’t lead to…
8.) Quitting the game! xD

After some kind messages/mail in game, I will continue for a little bit, but I will not be going for the new PvP dailies. It seems several of the other top achievement hunters will be doing the same. Anyone who thinks this is about staying at the top should recognize that some people are stepping aside from the opportunity for an advantage just due to the fact that this is not the way we want to play.
Yesterday I really struggeled with myself and came to the same conclusion. I too will boycott the new dailies – maybe trying for 3 SoloQ-wins while completing my “regular PvP-daily”, but not on a regular basis.
To be honest I feel like I lost some kind of purpose in the game – it will never feel the same and just somehow unfinished…
Let’s see how long I will last playing this game…
Also I am really curious when the guys who seriously try to complete the daily from now on burn out – but not my concern as I have already run out of fuel…

Please tell me if I forgot someone in this list. Considering it, the only negatively affected players would be the ones from the third category (and the fourth, but as I said we are asking for it).
That sums it up pretty nice!
I totally agree with Ewon that they have to do something about the current system, considering they plan to increase the “daily load” even further with PvP-tournament dailies.
I deliberatly used this term as I really see the daily grind as a chore. And of course a change to the system would make it easier for us, but why can’t we ask for this. If this provides an improvement for our style of gameplay, why not?
If it doesn’t negatively affect those around us, it should be perfectly fine. People all around the world are asking for things that make life easier for them.
About me – I led the leaderboard in EU for a few months and am currently 4th – lost out on PvP achievements and that stupid Skyhammer-Farm I despise (but that’s a different topic).
So right now as I don’t have much time on my hands, I just log in for dailies and that’s it. I can’t really enjoy the game to it’s fullest…
Of course “I don’t have to” and “I can stop” – but I STILL WANT TO.
As stated above – back in the day daily achievements were done in like 20 mins and achievable through normal gameplay. That was perfectly fine. But with recent additions it gets bloated up to an extend that it’s not enjoyable anymore.
Yeah the leaderboard system is totally flawed – I second that – counting dailies, monthlies, etc. – It has no point.
But people like me (and Ewon I guess) wouldn’t be up there if we just did it for the leaderboard. It was added in March 2013 – more than half a year into the game and rewards were added months after that…
Without our completionist-mentality (doing every daily, etc. even before there was an actual gain) we wouldn’t be up there.
Of course it fuelled our ambitions to get even more points, but that’s just a side-aspect.
Screw the leaderboards and rewards altogether – I would probably still do all dailies without having any actual “gain” from it – just like to tick of everything on my “To-Do-list”.
I would have no problem if they get rid of the leaderboard altogether or rehaul it to permanent achievements…
So we are not suggesting this for the “fame” and “we don’t want anybody to catch up”-mentality as many of you like to reduce this discussion to.
We want to come to enjoy the game like we used to and get rid of those “compulsive dailies”. Enjoyment is all a game should be about – and the current development is ruinig our “unique kind of enjoyment”.
Screw the leaderboards altogether – I want the game to be FUN (for me) – cause that is what it should be about.

As I am one of the Top AP-grinders I really understand those concerns. I can understand why many people shake their head and point their finger at us…
But please guys, all those posts with “if you can’t keep up, then don’t do it”/“the problem lies with you – not with the game”/etc. really don’t help us.
Everybody is different and plays games differently
At the most part we are completionists – it’s our mentality to play games. It’s not that I want to brag about what I have achieved and even look down upon the rest. I am even getting every achievements in SP-games and doing it to 100% – that’s my way of enjoying a game. If I miss something it really gets to me… (to the point of not having fun anymore).
We just want to “cry for help” as it’s too late to change our playstyle – we just ask to ease our load a bit. I really enjoy the game, but as described above – in a way it’s “all or nothing”. I think if I miss too much I might consider leaving the game for good. There are many games on the shelf that want to be played.
So let’s not discuss how you can’t understand us and nobody cares about leaderboards anyways. Please keep the discussion constructive.
We desperatly want to enjoy the game, but with every AP added it becomes more of a chore.
We just want a CAP on daily Achievement-Points – that’s all there is to it and i really think it’s a valid request!

Sorry to get a little “off-topic” here.
I really like that you are re-vamping PVP and the rewards to make it more accesible to everyone and proper reward the hardcore PVP-players. Honestly I don’t really like all of them and see many problems on the way, also described by the posts before mine. But I don’t want to further address this.
As I am an EXTREME Achievement-Point Farmer, my concern lies elsewhere. I know it’s my own fault and I can just stop, but I just want to speak up, as I believe there is a fair amount of people like me and we are your most loyal customers as we really (have to) play your game every day.
So my major concerns are the following:
1.) 4 more dailys in Tournaments
With introducing your daily PvP-achievements I really got my first PVP-experience. There was a time where winning tournaments was even in there. I must admit it was a real pain having to go through that every day, but at least I got better and really started to enjoy PvP to the point I got a regular Team to make tournaments.
To be honest I really don’t like the idea of re-introducing Tournament specific dailies. But I guess we just have to swallow up and do those additional 4 dailies…
I just wanted to beg you that you don’t introduce daily “Team-tournament-specific” achievements. Just make it possible to get everything via Solo-queue as that eases it up a bit.
On a side mark: I would love if you just cap daily achievement points (like 5 or 10 points per day) – That would solve all my problems!!! PLEASE!
2.) Removing Ranks & Glory
If you remove Ranks from PvP, please have a look at the Rank-specific achievements that are connected to Glory – Gladiator, Mercenary, Avenger,… and either keep the achievements in there (regardless of the rank re-vamp) or remove all points gained completely to equalise all players.
But I guess leaving it as it is will still work as points towards this are still achieved by getting points in the PvP-matches (capturing points, killing players,etc.) and even now not directly connected to the earned glory /rank.
3.) Slayer & Conquerer changes
So even more points for Skyhammer-Farmers sigh…
Just my 2 cents. Sorry for the elitism. But these are things that really concern me, even if it isn’t understandable from your point of view.

I am on the same boat – please make it tradeable!
Someone can farm all day long for the keys, having no luck at the chest and other guys get more than one and can’t really do anything with it…
It would be ok if the content was permanent, but it isn’t..
So please have a look into this!

As stated in the opening post:
Just stand on a teleporter and the villagers are revealed as little red dots.
You can easily guess where they are running and maybe ambush them by teleporting to another side of the Map.
You can also set a personal Waypoint to not lose track of those campers.
Hunt them all down!
There are a few “safespots” out of this “radar-range” – but they are few and easily checked.

Just wanted to bring this topic to your attention.
If you complete the “Lunatic Inquisition Regular” you get 5 AP.
For most activities the cap is 50 AP, but in the description it states that the achievement is repeatable infinite times.
The number in the Tooltip might just be the max number you can represent using 32bits
or something like that (2^32 = 4,294,967,296) and therefor a placeholder.
I haven’t reached the 50 AP for the achievement myself, but on reddit it is stated that you get points even after the 50 AP (see Link).

I really got to like the game I must admit, as hunting down camping villagers is a lot of fun :P – but I find it bad having to play so many games in this limited amount of time (Halloween).
So, I would appreciate it if anyone could have a look at this – get an statement about how many AP are possible or fix the Tooltip.

According to the Blogpost I interpret the leagues are split up according to the actual rank at the start of the change on October 4th.
On the other hand I heard people say that its taking an average over the last years matchups.
Can you guys enlighten me?

Hi guys!
Just wanted to ask a question for the Achievement “Flawless Defense”.
It says you must kill Tequatl without losing a Hylek Turret.
It’s pretty self-explanatory…
But on the other hand I heard that people got the achievement without even killing Tequatl – just getting him to around 90%.
Or like some people suggest he must have brought down to 25%…

Can anyone confirm that this still works and you just have to defend the turrets till Tequatl disappers – dead or not.
If it works servers/overflows who don’t stand a chance of beating Tequatl can at least try to work towards this achievement!

The past achievements and the points you earned for them for the activities tied to a living story event in the past are exactly where they were when you earned them, under that living story’s tab now moved the historical section because they ended.
They added new achievements for each activity for you to earn now, under the activities tab, that has no bearing or affect on the past achievements already earned.
Generally you are absolutely right. But in this case it is bugged.
Review again – For “Cutthroat Politics” there were no Achievement-Points awarded for repeating “Southsun Survival Regular” – just a Loot-Bag for every 6 games.
If you wanted all the other achievements – like collecting 2500 points – you had to play the game a lot.
So now comes the problem.
The new Title-Track in “Activities” quotes how often you already played “Southsun Survival” INCLUDING the games you played in the PREVIOUS Living Story – “Cutthroat Politics”.
It says something like – Southsun Survival Regular – comleted 7 times (more or less).
And beneath that it quotes that you earned the equivalent amount of Achievement points (5 Points for 6 games).
That wouldn’t be a problem if the rewarded Achievement points were infinite. (in fact that really would be a problem for us Achievement-grinders! xD ).
But the Achievement-points tied to “Southsun Survivor Regular” are capped at 50.
So the games you played before it got an own Activity-Achievement-Tab were carried over and the potential points you can earn for it are lost.
(What I don’t know for sure – did we receive the points retroactively? – I honestly don’t remember getting them – if so – then my thread is invalid! xD and sry )

As we all know there are now activities in a daily rotation.
For example the Southsun Survival.
In its Title track there is an infinite achievement that gives you 5 points for every 6 games you play. Thank good it is capped at 50 Achievement-Points (confirmed with a friend).
The problem is that the games you played during Cutthroat Politcs counted towards this track as well. So If you already played like 72 Games – the title track would say you already completed the Achievement 12 times and got 50 Points (capped) for it.
But actually you didnt get ANY points for it.
So for those people who played the game like crazy to get 2500 score-points last month, these Achievement-points seem lost.
It is the same for Refugiums-Sprint.
(Not for Kegbrawl and Crabtoss – there it works fine)

Doesn’t work for me either – tried every hour…
Our teams investigated the bug that occurred after Wednesday’s maintenance and is causing some Achievements to display incorrect numbers. We will be deploying a fix for this bug in the build for Flame and Frost: The Gathering Storm, coming at the end of this month. Thanks a lot for your patience!
