Pre purchased HoT but glider skin does not show as available in hero pannel

core i7 4690k with 2 gb video and 16 gb ram running on kitten hd keeps freezing in Hot Beta is there any special settings I need to look at a much lower spec’ed pc has no problems. there is no overclocking or anything running watercooling and not temp problems

My reasons for the original post are that I love this game. I have enjoyed a lot of it very much but much of the new content is temporary and very repetitive. Even to the extent that the basic idea is to do a (different) group of of similar activities each 2 -4 weeks. Mostly running from place to place pressing the “f” key to perform a predetermined action. Other than moving about the game my only involvement is to press “f” repeatedly.
I just want Anet to (hopefully ) read this and just maybe take on board that what they are in-fact doing with all this temporary content is exactly what they set out NOT TO DO !!!

My wife has 7 lvl 80’s 6 with 100% map completion…..she was in the top 20 achievement points on Yaks Bend….but now there is just more grind for her to stay there…..She only logs on to do Guild missions and events she is now 62nd on Yaks…She prefers to play mindless Facebook games.

Is this what Anet want us to aspire to??
I want to play GW2 with her and the rest of our Guild.

I LOVE GW. I played GW1 for 5 years and have been playing GW2 since BWE1.
It is just that Anet is spending so much effort on temporary content that if you go away on hols for a wee or 2 you miss. this temp content is exactly what their Manifesto says they do not want to do….SO WHY?
It is because I LOVE this game that I don’t want to see it go this way.

All the “New” (sic) content is just the usual MMO Grind.
Go light 50 Effigies…….Go bash 300 Pinatas…..Go kill 300 this or that……..
Come on Anet don’t fall into that stupid trap like all the other MMO’s
Give us something that the other games don’t………. meaningful content that stays longer than 2 -4 weeks.
This game once you have done the basics is becoming a GRIND FEST

So much complaining on this thread… I bet within a month everything will settle back to normal so who cares, it’s a game, and sometimes it’s fun to see different competition, even if that competition is way better or way worse than you are.

Besides, how nice it will be for Sorrows Furnace or Ferguson’s Crossing to get a week or two in a higher tier before they’re right back down to tier 7 for the rest of eternity… or what if it actually get’s some PvE’ers from those lower ranked servers to start WvW; “holy crap, my server is in tier 1??? Maybe I should stop chaining events in Orr and go do that WvW thing?!?”

Easy to say coming from one of the ROLFSTOMPING servers!!!! Try being on the receiving end week after week after week!!
Having to put up with being ganked, spawn camped and Greenwashed week after week after week will only serve to put people off playing GW2. Yaks might get a week off from it this week ….but it will be S.N.A.F.U. after that for several weeks to come as the top tier servers (from close tight matches) climb back up the ranks!

Do you seriously suggest that any of the current T1 or T2 Servers will proudly proclaim they love being T7 or T8????
To alot of players it is not about which Tier you are in but the quality of the match. A hard fought close match at T4,5,6,7,8 is way more enjoyable than the high pressure T1/2/3 matches anyday

Yaks Bend WvW is largly made up of "Casual PvX players lead by a core of very very able hard core WvWers. When things in WvW get too depressing the PvX ers just go level another Character in PvE for a while!!! (or play another new game)

For the last 4 weeks Yaks Bend has been getting PvDoored by the big winners in the last call before “end of Free Transfers (EoFT)” mobs of DB, Mag, and Kain.

Next week those 3 will meet up making for a very interesting/even match. All 3 have very even coverage across the day. Yaks proved that we can match at reset but not for the whole 24 hrs. My gut tells me that Yaks hasn’t lost players to other servers but we have had many of our WvW players get sick of being PvDoored and not bother turning up for most of the last 3-4 weeks. Being spawn camped almost 24/7 by Kain hasn’t been fun and only the most hardcore WvWers have been turning up.

At the same time as we have been meeting the very fast climbing winners we have been also meeting the equally fast dropping losers of the EoFT lottery, IoJ, CD and Emery. with many of our PvX casuals deciding not to WvW (or even GW2 at all) it has essentially made T4 each of the last 4 weeks “almost” 1V1. Where Yaks Bend has lost out each week is in not having sufficient 24/7 coverage….having to reclaim greenwashed maps against equally matched servers in our NA prime has been slow and the points have ticked away to the dominant non NA-prime server almost 24/7.
this comming week I think the matchups are where they should be! After that they willl be back to being so stuffed up for several (up to 10) resets that it will again not be fun in WvW and our casual PvX players will simply stay away. Alot will not only stay away from WvW but GW2 altogether ………….Maybe even permanently !!!!

Hehehehehe Had a fun couple of hours running round Mag BL flipping camps and sentries ……Maguma ended up having to dedicate 20+ zerg to stop just 2 of us ..a warrior and a Mesmer from creating havoc……..I was Rotflol seeing the over kill from Maguma just for 2 pesky Yakers

This is one match-up I don’t want to see ending………No server deserves to be dropped to T5. It si just that EB have so dominated the T5 match-up that someone WILL be dropped which is a pitty….You just cant afford to go to sleep with these 3 servers DB have brought a new dimension to T4 WvW. I suspect that EB have gained some mercenary guilds since last match. If they haven’t then they wont last long in T4 and if they have …How long will the mercenaries stay around???
