Lich Form bugged?

So, everywhere I’ve read has told me that Lich Form is supposed to make you immune to most (if not all) slows, stuns, knockbacks, etc… From the official wiki to random forum communities and GW2 websites.

But, every time I’ve used it in PvP, I have been slowed, stunned, etc… As soon as I pop it up, I get the obvious reaction of everyone targeting me, but then I get massive stacks of stuns, snares, slows, etc… and literally can’t move and insta die, even if my health was full when it started (which I think is about 40k in lich form?)

Originally, I thought maybe it was because I was getting stunned and slowed before I entered Lich Form. So, just a few minutes ago, I decided to test it and I entered Lich Form before going in to the fight. 3 seconds after the fighting starts, I get stacked with every kind of condition imaginable, cannot move and insta die.

I’m kind of annoyed, as I could have used the 30 points it took in a bunch of other skills that would have been a lot more effective.

Is this a bug, or did they severely nerf the Lich?

What keeps you playing?

I continue to play because I’ve yet to see an end to enjoyable content. I have been playing since the pre-release at least 2 hours a day and have reached level 46 as a Necro. I want to reach level 80 and max a few crafting professions. I am not going out of my way to explore any of the map, as I want to leave stuff for me to discover on my other characters I want to play.

I have yet to get in to crafting, even though I really should. I would like to try out a few of the different craft schools, as well as make a legendary or two.

My “end game” goal is to deck myself out in the absolute best gear for WvWvW PvP. I plan to spend a lot of time and effort getting the best of the best.

I also have the goal of being able to afford a bunch of bank and bag upgrades by only using the in-game money to purchase gems.

I have no doubt that I will get bored of GW2 sometime, but for now I don’t see when that will be, and I’ve got to admit I’ve already gotten more than my moneys worth of fun from the game.

I’ve also got to say that the community is pretty nice. On rare occasions you run in to the odd kitten, but generally everyone is nice and helpful. I attribute this to the fact that a majority of people are to busy having fun playing the game to be idiots.

I’ve seen some people in some truly amazing and unique looking armors and weapons that are top-notch thanks to transmutation stones. With them, you can combine the stats of one items with the looks of another.

I would like to see #2 as well.

To #3, I believe ArenaNet has said they will add in a dueling feature if enough community interest is shown in it. Until then, they are prioritizing other things.

I disagree with #4. I believe you should have to actually communicate with a person if you want to find out what they’re wearing. But that’s just a personal opinion.

I am trying to figure out the “perfect” condition build for necromancer. I mean in terms of skills, traits, and gear. This is for WvWvW.

Right now I am going with Scepter + Warhorn and Staff. I am also just looking for the most condition damage possible when selecting armor.

For skills/utilities, I am currently using the Minion heal (forgot the name :P) for 6, 7 is Spectral Grasp, 8 is the Signet that stacks a bunch of conditions on your target (I forgot the name for this too, it’s late… I’ll edit later with correct names), 9 I am currently experimenting with different Wells, I have the trait that allows me to ground target them. My elite is currently Lich as I thought he was supposed to be immune to stuns, slows, etc… but I learned that isn’t right in WvWvW last night. I will probably switch back to Flesh Golem.

For traits, I am taking the lines that give +Condition Damage and +Condition Durations. I am completely open to suggestions in this area.

Any suggestions different weapons to take than what I am currently using?

Also, is there anything else I should look for in gear? Toughness? Vitality? Precision? Or should I only pay attention to condition damage?

Thank you for reading and for your time if you decide to respond!

Nop. 1 Gem =/= 20-30 Silver. (idk what that graph is showing but it is not the price of 1 Gem)
For 1 Gold 40 Silver I get 510 Gems, so it is pretty easy to get them.

Wow I need to come to your realm :P

Cause you are telling me all it takes is 4 days of farming to get 8G to get over 2000 diamonds so people can upgrade normal retail to digital deluxe?

Does that sound right to you?

Especially when in my money £8.99 = 800 diamonds.

EDIT: You are right just checked lol That doesn’t seem right I think they may have bugged it lol

The worth of gems fluctuates with in-game economy data. Some days, gems go down to 21gems per 9s (I use 9s as my “base”, idk why), while just yesterday it went as high as 40 gems per 9s. Once more higher levels come in to the game and more money is being made, the worth of gems will probably go down a lot, or it might continue to go up. Not sure yet. On day one, though, in the pre-release, 9s was worth 24 gems, and it appears gems are getting cheaper.

The only time I would pay for new content is if it were almost a completely new game on par with the original (in terms of content added). I will never pay for DLC content (I never have and never will, for any game) as the concept, to me, is just criminal.

I think Arenanet will bring in a decent amount of money from the gem shop alone, seeing as there are a few million people (a guesstimate) playing currently. It’s a proven fact that games that offer “cash shops” pull in money on par with WoW, even if they aren’t anywhere near the same sub base. GW2 also has the added benefit of charging a decent amount of money to purchase the game.

I honestly don’t think they’ll have a real need to do purchasable DLC at all. They may add in more stuff to the cash shop, but I don’t think they’ll do anything else in the realm of “micro-transactions”.

But, if we look at Guild Wars 2, they are probably likely to release an expansion for GW2 here in about a year to year and a half.

Honestly, I’ve always preferred the subscription and expansion based model, as it requires people to put in more love and care in to the game, which makes the game an overall better quality due to the higher quality in community, if that makes sense. I enjoy expansion-based systems as it gives a lot more content (in most cases) than DLC ever will.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

To be honest, I probably wont buy anything from the cash shop, either. To me, part of the game is gaining enough in-game money to be able to purchase stuff from the cash shop without ever having to invest any more money in to the game. Similar to how some people make it a goal to be able to afford their subscription cost via in-game currency in games such as Eve Online or Wurm Online.
