I tried Kilic Bela’s workaround and it worked for me. You must clear the entire cave before going back and killing the abomination. Then walk slowly to the end killing grubs as you go. It worked for me I hope it will work for you. Nevertheless, when I started this quest it was Saturday evening and now the sun is about to rise on Sunday morning. I hope Anet fixes this.

This instance is still bugged. The group does not follow me even if I keep Trav alive. I get to the the end and nothing I have now tried this quest 4 times and a total of about 6 hours of messing around and reading forums trying to complete it. Frustrating! I am playing as a Vigil Ranger.

I agree. I held off on doing my story line. I decided that I would spend a Satuday working on it and emersing myself in it. Then I came upon this part. It is frustrating. I have now attempted it 4 times. According to other posts if you keep the main guy alive you can complete it, but I have been unsuccessful in keeping him alive. There is this one wave of undead that just pound on him. I have now spent 6 hours trying to complete this quest. It is difficult to begin with, and totaly frustrating to come to the end and find that you can not progress because of a bug.

It is still bugged. I wasted most of a Saturday night running the quest multiple times. Same bug each time. Arrrrrgh. I just want to complete my story line.
