Yeah having two cats here, and playing the game one night – I kept hearing that and looking around to see what they were doing. Only to find they were nowhere in sight!!

…then I realised around the 3rd time it was the hallucinations in game :P

No kidding, Scarlet is the best enemy we could possibly have at the moment, aside from maybe the Elder Dragons.

Seriously, she rejected her place in Pale Tree’s dream, decided that only SHE would decide where or what her path was. She studied for eight years in the Grove, with Sylvari engineers and realized she wanted more.

So she went to Hoelbrak to study under the Norn smiths, to learn the art of metal working so she could build her creations. So she became Beigarth’s pupil and apprentice, his forge tender. Learning the art of metal working. But she realized it wasn’t enough.

So she moved on, and began to study under a gladium of the Iron Legion. She wanted to know more, and more. She learned all his secrets, everything she could. But it still wasn’t enough.

She went to Rata Sum, and she wasn’t just accepted in automatically, she wasn’t some instant genius. So they tested her, and she impressed them, time and time again. The Asuran colleges allowed her to continue studying. Because she was dedicated. And they were intrigued by her ability to learn. She STRUGGLED at synergetics, but refused to give up. Headmaster Omadd took her under his wing, because he saw something in her. He introduced her to the eternal alchemy. The Arcane Council even rejected her thesis, though it was 100% backed by her by Omadd.

Afterward, she joined the Inquest to learn from them. But she was eventually thrown out by the Arcane Council, when she broke into the city’s archives with a fellow classmate who abandoned her. But still she perservered. Because she wanted to know more.

After she was thrown out, she learned alchemy from the Hyleks, so she could stay close to Rata Sum.

Headmaster Omadd, seeing her potential even tracked her down and offered her a chance to the see more of the Eternal Alchemy, to know as much as possible.

Inside Omadd’s machine, the Pale Tree reaching out to her tried to convince her not to stray from the path. But Scarlet was too interested in seeing the way things worked, the way everything was put together and the design of the world around her.

So much knowledge, she learned so much everywhere she went and from everyone she studied.

You want Scarlet to just “up and die” and be done with. But you probably don’t even know her story.

Scarlet is here to stay for quite a while, and I’m entirely interested in seeing what she is going to do next. She saw something in Omadd’s machine no doubt, she saw what was coming and even if she isn’t a Dragon Minion, Scarlet is not going to disappoint.

Great post – But on the other hand, Scarlet is somewhat reminding me of Sylar from Heros :P (The knowledge thing, the needing to know how everything works and the obsession to that end leading to control over others!)… interesting!!

They had to “corrupt” them anyhow, even breaking back Chernobyl, just to not mess up with Guild Wars Lore. They couldn’t mix regular Kraits with Nightmares, salad people, magitech and Scarlet because true Kraits by themselves are very xenophobical and wouldn’t accept any alliance for simple reason: They think about themselves about greatest race of all, every other is good to enslave. They believe they’re unstoppable force for other races and they have no fear so I can’t find any reason why they should ally with “slaves”
So here we go. Epic manouvers on the LS just to mix everything with Briar and Aetherblades&Magitech&plants&salad and don’t break the sense of actual lore.
If I’m not wrong and we’ll see things as I forsee… I think lore will be non-existing and action without a reason once more. Could be pathetic patch if so

Equally there might be various Krait groups that have perhaps deviated from this traditional view (after all their religion and knowledge that they live by is passed down by each generation not by text but by word of mouth and even then, it has been known to be potentially ‘tweaked’ to serve the priest’s own agenda).

So could it be possible as Xenophobes, and their self proclaimed superiority over other races; they have aligned themselves with “something” (Mordremoth perhaps?) of a clear greater power to enable them to exercise their ‘enslaving’ tendencies upon the other races through more extraneous means than commonly thought – and corrupted in the process as the trailer/text suggests (in only as far as the corruption that is)?

Can a lower numbered server not arrange itself more, and also act more continuously in a guerilla fashion? Break away from Zerging (if that is what people persist in doing regardless?) and be more tactical.

At least in the meantime until this match-making is perhaps tweaked some more?

On the other hand, I’d be interested to know, formally, as to how the servers respond in terms of the changes in population on a given server as well as how well that server is doing and match make accordingly? Also if they do indeed do this as would be expected, over what time frame??
Although a very simple and outside view on my part, it would seem logical that the match-making should draw from this in some form (or more).

The nostalgia for what was, and the fact you can come in to it anytime, I see it not hurting to keep it permanently in the world. Am sure the small team that originated on this can steadily add to it over time too.

Perhaps because they are looking in to it (as they’ve said) and are still looking in to it now, and nothing has surfaced yet to constitute to anything direct to why, and thus unable to give us an update (yet). – Other than the already seconded response to encourage for peeps to continue to report the issue (and the Community team are clearly monitoring the forums, and redirecting people who are creating new threads to this one to consolidate).

Not really rocket science. Play/do something else in the meantime.

Hopefully it will be rectified soon – as my guild have an event up for tonight.

Personally, I’d like to have the option to always ask me for the 6 digit code regardless of where I go to log into my account.

Add me to the list of folks who chose to be paranoid. Would really like this feature.

Ditto – Very much prefer to use the Authentication as a step within my log in process.
