The proposed changes to critical damage gear aren’t specifically PvE-focused, but focused rather on the stat weighting of critical damage itself. We’re not aiming to make crit damage unviable, just to bring it closer to other gear sets.
How about dire gear. In PVT you can’t deal good damage but stay tanky. You need precision and critical damage for good amount of damage. However people can reach massive condition damage and still stay tanky with dire. I know because I have that gear. In berserker vs dire comparison dire has the advantage in my opininon (WvW).
If idea is just bring it closer to other gears, start with dire. I’m ready to give up my dire gear. But condition damage is not important for PVE. People farm low AI mobs/bosses with berserker gear in dungeons. But increase their AI is a harder solution. So solution is nerf the berserker. Sorry but this is the reality in my opinion, this is not about WvW. In WvW berserker vs dire duel, berserker user need to be more skilled than dire user for win the fight. In generally berserker gear requires more skill for survive in WvW. Also this nerf will affect mainly kinght/cavalier/berserker mixed DPS builds. These builds will become more useless. Sorry for bad English.

OP Tell that to the theif that killed me (warrior in full Knights gear) in 3-4 hits.
Why are people complaining about these miniscule nerfs? Try other games like AoC or D3 where they nerf your damage by half…
That thief can kill you after that nerf. This is not about his gear or yours. If you let him to kill you in 3-4 hits don’t blame his class or gear.

I have 5 level 80, 11 exotic armor sets, 12 exotic trinket sets. I won’t craft any ascended. No time, no need, not worth. In my opinion ascended is totally unnecassary. Wrong step by developers. This game doesn’t need any grind content.

1) Remove ascended or keep it same stats with exotic. Only functional difference would be infusions without power, precision and vitality. Agony resistance and WvW guard bonuses are good. Main difference should be well designed appearance.
2) Add duel mode in special areas. In that mode players won’t effected by other players buffs and enemy players damage. Also other players names become disabled for create a clear duel environment. Include some duel achievement system.
3) GvG mode in special map like Obsidian Sanctum with similar design of duel mode. They will do this fight in paralel server without other players. Include GvG leaderboard. But there would be weekly limits in GvG for protect the WvW population. For example 3 GvG for weekly. More than 3 GvG won’t counted at leaderboard.
4) Remove soulbound. Some special items like ascended, legendary will work like achievement point skins. All characters can reach at hero menu.
5) Account bound dungeon story mode.
6) Small scaled fights in WvW grants more experience and loots.
7) Defend grants same xp and award with capture in WvW.
Bonus: Do all these changes with optimised game wtihout skill lags and low FPS at WvW.

Character slot discount.
Hmm? Fighting in a BL JP offers no contribution to WvW efforts. If you’re one of the many against this post, and intentionally prolong your time within a JP, then do your server a favor and log-off so someone wanting to WvW can join. In actuality, you shouldn’t even be at the JP. I only just today completed the BL JPs (for meta), and I’ve played WvW heavily since the start.
JPs are basically PvE anyways. ;P
You have a good point at BL JP’s but what PvE? EB JP is the only place you can stack your bloodlust sigil with killing players. No guards, no PvE events, no capture points etc. It provides more PvP than WvW. I like the small scale figths and EB JP is very good place for find them. Btw only mobs are in arena but when you defeat them they turn green and you can’t stack your sigil with killing them. Also I remember when you kill a player with using finisher you provide a point for your home world.
edit: Also when you enter the Eb JP you leave the EB map.

If you see a player with [JUMP] tag don’t wave him. Because he will keep you in down until you give up. If he thinks you are an aggressive wvw player than you can see his finisher lol. Kill or die at WvW area, it’s simple. Lots of JP’s at pve for peaceful players.
Like people are afraid of low skilled players that camp in a jp. Dream on boy =)

Warriors are now the only viable class in the game. I used to love to play all different classes in this game but arena net has balanced this so poorly i could cry. My son and i play this game together in pvp and wvw and warriors are the only class that we or anyone else can play and beat any other class in this game with your eyes closed. Here is an example, Warriors get 400 health per tick with their healing signet and with a Thief you only get 300 health per tick while in stealth, warriors also have almost 10k health more than thieves. Warriors can hit with skill 4 on hammer up to 7k while a full berserker thief hits for only 6k to 9k [depending on the toughness of the character] in stealth on a backstab. I could go on forever about class verse class. Warriors also can do amazing condition damage depending on the build even better than most classes. One more thing Hammer Stun really?? they can use it like every 4 seconds depending on their build.
I think it’s time to change the name of this game to Guild Warriors 2
Please nerf the warriors now or I and my son are done playing a game with only 1 fun class because all the other classes are second.I have seen many good and viable points from all of your posts so far but i also see many rude comments like name calling. I feel sorry for those people.
I have lvl 80’s of elementilist, thief, ranger, warrior,gaurdian and neco. I have been playing this game since beta and I am also a vet of GW 1. I have plenty of experince with this game and almost all classes. Yes as a thief you can troll zergs or irritate a group 1v5 but that’s all u can really do is irritate them. You can heal zergs as a ele or a gaurd, etc… I could talk forever about this. The fact remains since arena net has nerfed the warrior i have not been killed once as a warrior by another class besides a warrior and I know there are better players then myself in other classes, PvP and WvW. Try to 1v1 some other classes as a warrior and you will see. Please give me more feed back and TY
First of all I have both level 80 thief and warrior with different sets. I both play WvW and spvp with my chars. I want to say play with warrior is easier than thief. If you are a bad thief all class can kill you easier. If you are a bad warrior with good build you can survive better than thief but they can kill you anyway. However if you are a perfect thief you can handle with 1v5 and you can kill all of the party. Warriors maximum limit is 1v3 I think. I will suggest Yishis videos on youtube for perfect thief play. But warriors borders are limited enemy always see you. Also you can track warrior moves and can dodge their stuns etc. But if you meet with a good thief, he will hit his backsteps to you. Thief is the most connected class with player. Thief is dependent on player skills. Warrior is warrior, front line combat class with easy play. In conclusion I think when skilled warrior and thief meet, I bet for thief.

Summary: Just remove it.
First of all in the beginning of the game there are no ascended. Also exotic and legendary stats were same. Ascended gear not necessary in WvW. It is only useful in Fractal becasue of agony resistance upgrade. Also they came with Fractal. If people want to use ascended gear in any area of pve this is fine for me. But I said this lots of times in different topics. Lots of player plays WvW with alterns.
I have 5 level 80 characters with total 10 armor sets, 11 trinkets and lots of weapons. I like use different class in WvW and I don’t have main class. That ascended thing limited my fun understanding of this game. I should choose my one character and build for ascended set. When ascended armors come there will be a full exotic versus full ascended comparison. I mentioned before when they announced ascended armor and weapon my guild quit for react to Anet becasue of this decision. Some of us return but we are not happy. Before ascended this game was more easy and funny without grind.
Also not all people join huge zergs and blobs in WvW. I rarely join zergs. I prefer small party roaming and solo duels. Obsidian Sanctum Jumping Puzzle is an unoffical duel arena. I have lots friends in other servers for duel at that area. I do not want to WvW bloodlust buffs, ascended pieces in that fights. I don’t want to win that duels with buffs and ascended pieces. So as I said before I don’t want to ascended, WvW bloodlust, orb etc. at WvW. If you decided to design ascended like legendary (convertible to all stats) and account bound like achievement skins and available for all characters then I will become an ascended supporter and still do not want to increased stats.

I’m a Seafarer’s Rest player. When we fight with Piken Square there is no lag. When Vizunah Square involves to fight we can not use skills. Yes skill lag is Vizunah Square’s fault. So Vizunah Square do not involve our fights with Piken. Also Piken you should not join our fights with Vizunah. Problem solved!
Oh WvW is a 3 server fight. I forgot that little detail.

The addition of the bonus WXP for laurels/badges is simply intended to give WvW players an additional option they can spend their laurels/badges on, it is not intended to fix any issues with alts and WxP.
We’re aware of, and actively discussing the amount of progression we’ve added through WxP and the difficulty for playing multiple characters as a result. When we make changes to help address alts/WxP rank, we’ll make sure to specifically call out the change is to help address that issue.
Do that for Ascended gear you love so much as well. As it stands you are making the most Alt unfriendly game in history. STOP WITH THE GRIND.
I totally agree with you after that ascended things I gave up to defend this game. How can I bring ascended sets for my 5 alterns? I play WvW with 5 characters. I levelled all of them for play WvW.
2 weeks right…. if you have infinite money.

lol I can’t count all my exotic wepons also when ascended armors appeared this will be an impossible mission for me if i want to convert all my sets to ascended ones. This ascended things are restriction for me.

Yeah I’m pretty much in the same boat. If GW2 wants to be a modern MMO, it’s going to have to have the lifespan of a modern MMO. One year, it was a good run. This is what happens when you cut corners for time sink instead of engaging content.

I totally agree with you, it was a modern MMO but started to become an ordinary one. Unfortunatelly, we are looking for new game too.
Me and some friends decided to quit GW2 l will talk about it in this post. This game was very friendly to who wants to play with alterns. I have 5 level 80 characters with full exotic sets. I got 8 exotic armor sets, lots of exotic weapons and 9 trinket sets. Because I like to play with different classes and different builds. I mostly play in wvw. I done with pve when I have got my armor sets from dungeons. Now I have enough gold and Badge of Honor for more sets. Honestly I don’t like map complation, living world events an other pve things. I like to try new builds and classes in wvw. Also I had plans for 3th exotic set for my ranger and 2nd exotic set for my guardian. I bought a bank slot for these lots fo sets.
We have a small guild consist of wvw players not zerg members. We generally do small party raids and duels at wvw. We have lots friends in other servers also they like duel in wvw too. So me and my guild mates have lots of alterns for fun in wvw and duels. We like to play this game in that way. So we don’t farm loots in both pve and wvw in zergs.
When they anounced first ascended trinkets we didn’t support this idea but we can handle with it. Personally I only bought 5 ascended amulets for my alterns for their new sets. This is effected our play stlye but not much honestly. After wvw xp things appeared and they said this is character bound. This was also bad thing because I play with 5 characters at wvw. But we can handle with it too. However now there is a full ascended vs full exotic comparison at wvw. This game started to force people for play one character. This is not a good news for players like me. After the last ascended update me and my guild mates decided to quit GW2. Because this is enough for us! Before that patch I had goals like achieve some nice pvp finishers for use in wvw and buy some finishers from trade post. I liked to work for that. I still like this game but this is about react to ArenaNet for their attitude against to players who like to play alterns and wvw players. There is a lots of pve contents but they give little things for wvw players like masteries. I’m sure there is a lots of wvw players they look forward to their flame ram masteries lol. In conclusion our fun understanding and playstyle ruined with these all patches. [JUMP] is leaving. So I agree with the topic.Thanks for funny hours (more than 1.3k hours for me). I am a wvw focused player and I like to play with my both 5 level 80 characters. In totally they have 8 exotic armors and 9 exotic trinket sets and lots of exotic weapons. So when I wanna do solo duels I’ll go with berserkers sets. In zerg play I change my gears. Also sometimes I want to play with condition way and change my sets.
Ascended trinkets effected my “what I want” play style but I only bought 5 ascended amulets for eachother and I handle with it. In these days I’m trying to decide for full ascended trinket set for my one character. However after I read the incoming ascended update I decided to quit this beautiful game. Because this update will ruin my fun understanding from this game and I can’t work get lots of ascended weapons and armors for my 5 characters. This is very sad for me. Maybe I will continue only play spvp sometimes when I missed the GW2. I have more than 1.3k hours play and still I like to play this game until that update. In pve this may be not create a big problem but in wvw It will provide an advantage to your opponent clearly in full exotic vs full ascended comparison. Sorry for bad english.
