Do the math. A 26% stat increase across the board with all slots filled with the new armour, weapons and accessories. ATM they are only releasing two items but more are promised. These stats will work outside the dungeon. Only the infusion slot is for the new content.
And BTW talk to us like adults please. Do not be disrespectful

26% you say. Not sure how you came down to that percentage, but the exotic ring stat total is 133 and the ascended ring total is 146, that’s less than a 10%. Or maybe my math is off. :P

Seriously though, people are over exaggerating. If ANet added entire ascended armor sets, then there would be cause for alarm. However, their only adding rings and back slot items. Only three of the fourteen possible equipment, that’s a small increment.

Adding only these few items make it seem like a test run. Once the content is released, and it’s really bad, then we can vent, and the situation can still be salvaged.

Your math is off because you are ignoring the MF stats on the gear , which most people ignore for some reason. If it were an other type of gear like knight , you would see the real increase more accurately.

they are adding 3 items, lest assume MF=Crit Dmg in terms of statweight, then you will gain an extra %9 crit dmg just from the patch they are gonna impliment. Assuming you have %80 crit chance like me ,

thats gonna be %7,2 dmg increase , just from 3 items

what i mean as in stat budged in the equipment,
For example a exotic MF legging as stats as follows;
48 power
48 pre
%3 MF
But exotic Knights gear has following stats,
48 power
48 pre
67 Toughness

you see you are giving up 67 toughness on leggings to get %3 MF , thats called stats budged.

The prime stat on the shows rings were MF guys , %3 mf increase worth more or less like 40-50 of any other stat, or %3 crit dmg . So the stat diference is not so low at all.

1 amulet 2 rings and 2 earings and a backpiece thats in total +%18 more Crit Dmg then wearin all exotics, and thats only the jewelery.

Atm Max you can get from Jewelery is %33 crit dmg, so basicly you are increasing your crit dmg about %64

how is that for a stat increase

I am still laughing about marketing people being smarter then us part his reply…lol

They are not smart at all they are thinking that competitors have tier progression , they are making money , ergo if we copy them we will make money too. Thats the whole chain of tought they have.

But if i wanted tier progression mmo , i can go play WoW with panda’s and TON of more end game content, i can go play rift with its new expension, neither game the the bugs of this game possess, and have pve content that designed alot better than this game.

I like the world they created, i like the jumping puzzles , i like the awesome armor and weapon skins, i like the WvW and that medieval war feeling they managed to capture so nicely.

And the most i like about this game is that Skill>gear and even to some extremes Skill>level.

Thats what they are changing and that is whats annoying.

But i thinki got my money’s worth with this game by alot. If they continue with this changed design philosophy then i ll just move on to an other game.

So…what will happen?

  • Makes all of our current dungeons obsolete.
  • Encourages gear requirement to even get in a dungeon group.
  • Leaves behind those who stick stick with Exoitc armor. (Also left out of experiencing new content/end game)
  • Forces players to dungeon grind for gear. (Because we can’t craft Ascended like we can craft Exotics)

This is an issue, this isn’t the GW many of us loved. To those of you who have apparently wanted this new change, I have to wonder if you even took your time to enjoy the beautiful world that ArenaNet has given us; not everything has to be a grind or be rushed.

It’s only been roughly three months since the games release! Have respect for this game and the way it works, the way it was meant to work.

There, this is the exact reason why we are disagreeing with this update. Its not that they are adding an other tier, its not that there is a small difference. 1 add teir wont make that much difference to begin with but we are adults that can extrapolate things, if we will be %5 stronger when we start 3 months ago, then how much more stronger will we become?.

With this update and the updates yet to come, they are not adding more content to us, they ae basicly robbing us the content thats is available. Check wow and see what happens with the T1-12 raids/dungeons , noone plays they because they are not playable / enjoyable when you can oneshot every mob in them.

Atm even with exotics you can still find challenge in lvl 1-15 zones, but if the stats increase , if you try to implement tier progression in to a game where its not designed for it in the first place, all you again will be losing ton of content thats been released before and intelligent player base that loves this game’s unique take on Mmorpgs.

I did not sign for a tier progression mmo, nor will i play an mmo for the pixel carrot.

I know its harder to desing content w/o a tier progression, and i know it seems tier progression might seem a solution, but its not.

When you design something you have to take in to account your targeted audience, and if you cant see that your playerbase does not want this kind of design already, all i can say is thanks for this beauitul world, but i wont be part of it any longer…

Full automated LFG usually breeds bad community, spoiled brats and tons of griefers. Its not hard to find a group or does it require too much effort. (for example kicking non-lvl80 player that come from the finder)

But for those playing at odd hours, a semi automated system where you can “find” and “group” with people from other servers would be a welcomed addition.

The thing is they are suppose to be hard. If you wanna chill out and relax with guild mates there are jumping puzzles and tons of events out there. Dungeons should be challenging in exp. mode.

@LordByron i can clearly remember when i was lvl 35 since it was two days ago. I bought the game 2 weeks ago, leveled two char to lvl 43 and 41.

Was the dungoens hard? yes ofc. Were they fun ? yes. And i pugged them all with no problem. Of course we wiped. But it was challenging and they teached me alot about the gameplay.

Is the AC for real ? it's ridiculous

I have done AC exp with both my guardian and warrior on all paths, (their lvls atm is 43 and 41 respectively, also my highest lvl chars) with pug groups of lvl range i 35-50. Are they hard, yes ofc. But certainly doable.

I am not a lvl 80 yet , i have only done AC paths and CM paths. But if what my little experience counts, its never a gear problem. Most of the time those people doesnt know what they should be doing.

Instead of kicking or being rude, you shold just detect whats going wrong when you wipe and help them by telling their mistakes.

They usually adapt and by just spending 5mins to explain whats going on you save yourselfs 30mins or more unnesseary wipes. I dont kick people and i only leave if a dungoen is taking more then 1,5 hours since i dont have much free time to play games, i’d like to make most of it when i do.

Kicking is not an option unless the person you kick is rude, have bad attitude etc..
