If you have any overlay software (or maybe anything else hooking into the game to provide more features) running try disabling that. I know I had problems with RivaTuner Statistics Server (also bundled with MSI Afterburner) after the Creator’s Update.

If you’re using RTSS you can add an application profile for Gw2.exe/Gw2-64.exe and set the application detection level to None, effectively disabling it just for Guild Wars 2.

I used “your” because it was intended as a general statement. It just happened to be inspired by what happened earlier in EB.

E.g. “You know you’re going to have a bad day when your car won’t start”.

Actually, losing the keep and focusing on smaller objectives is better in some situations. During the SFR-Riverside attack on EB on reset night Piken had to let the keep fall and take other objectives leading us to slowly paint our corner in our color.

Defending a keep against two servers attacking it can cause you to stay at <50 tick for a really long time. Knowing that it would fall eventually, making that <50 tick last for many hours isn’t a good idea. Ignoring it and focusing on smaller objectives can give you a ~100 tick.

I don’t know if he let it fall thinking about it or whether he just stopped trying to defend it but it’s not a bad strategy.

A mix of frustration over people not following him and wanting to take other stuff.

Adding a paper keep to the list of paper bases doesn’t seem all that helpful if the double teaming continues after losing the keep. Reflipping might fix the swiss cheese walls for a while but it’ll be even easier to knock them down again anyway.

3. Add armor/weapon skins unique to WVW (or access to more PVE skins through WVW)

• A ground targeted version of Judge’s Intervention
• A Signet Elite skill that is useful for solo play

Weapons:

• An offhand weapon with a Symbol ability
• Faster swing time on Symbol of Protection (Hammer 1.3)

While you’re updating stats on items for the next patch could you please take a look at the item budget for the ascended celestial trinkets? They seem to have been left behind when you decided on the stat budget for the newer celestial items (exotic set from the Bazaar and the upcoming ascended weapon).

Depending on how you do your calculations there should be room for 10-50 extra stats and 3-7% critical damage spread across the trinket items.

Regarding the symbol changes, here’s a bug report with a screenshot of how they act pre-patch.

Looks like they streamlined all symbols to be the same size and with a spell effect that covers the entire area. The increased size on Symbol of Swiftness will be nice for making sure a tick goes off while running across.

As a primarily WvW player, I don’t particularly care if the achievement system rewards Badges of Honor. They were already easy to get in the jumping puzzles for anyone wanting to avoid WvW fighting.

I’m curious where my free Ascalonian Tears are though.

There seems to be a target cap bug when using Symbol of Faith with Writ of Exaltation.

Symbol of Faith without any symbol traits will hit 5 targets, like the other Guardian symbols.

Symbol of Faith with Writ of Exaltation only hits 3 targets, while the other Guardian symbols still hit 5 targets.

Tested in Heart of the Mists and Lion’s Arch. Bug is present in both PvE and PvP. Haven’t tested if the same is true for the regeneration application. The other four symbol modifying traits don’t seem to cause the same problem.

There also seems to be a bug(?) with the base radius of some symbols. Symbol of Protection/Wrath have a larger radius than Symbol of Faith/Swiftness. Attached screenshots of the difference in radius between Wrath and Faith, with and without Writ of Exaltation.

I think for the Gift of Battle to actually mean something (in relation to the other parts of a legendary) it has to come from participating in WvW PvP. You shouldn’t really be asking to skip a part of the game to make your legendary, unless there’s a jumping puzzle out there that awards Ascalonian Tears and Charged Lodestones so WvW players can skip dungeons (or the equivalent materials for other legendaries).

Personally I think they need to overhaul the Badge of Honor reward system in WvW before they touch badge rewards from the jumping puzzle chests. There needs to be a way to share loot tagging between groups and individual players. And a way for support builds to be eligible for more loot even with lower damage output.
On top of that they should add ways to gain badges that takes out some of the randomness, i.e. badges added to the rewards for capturing bases.

This has been brought up a few times and I wonder if there is an overhaul in coming? As it stands now there’s little reward for a non WvWer to participate if they just want badges, particularly if they’re like me. That being said it’d be a great way to pull them in if they got more badges. Not suggesting it rain badges, but an increase in percentage received.

Also if you really need 500 tears Asur I can help you get those very quickly with little pain.

I don’t know what Arenanet’s track record is with providing balance fixes, but I would assume an overhaul to the badge system will come eventually. Badges already rain pretty liberally if you have a full party that can AOE in zerg vs. zerg and stay on their feet. I was mostly hoping they would even out the drop rate for support specs and people who are participating but aren’t in a (full) group yet.

And thanks for the offer, but I’m not in a hurry. At the rate I’m earning gold in WvW it’ll take me a year before I need them. I end up spending my gold on food, making myself look pretty and trying out new gear sets anyway.

Did you check if the guild names match? Guild tags aren’t unique so there can be multiple guilds with the same tag.
