Guild Wars 2

Me and my husband managed to get to level 80 and to get decent exotic gear from the Black Lion some months ago. We always wanted to make world bosses and our first was the one from the swamp in Queensdale (when we were barely level 20). Every time I see a boss spawning and no body is there I relay the event in Map Chat and I got to Lion’s Arch to ask politely to send some backup to kill that boss, but to no avail.

It’s been like 6 months now, and even with Tequatl being revamped, every time I go to ask for backup no body comes, ever, only a handful of people that insta-teleports away when they get killed by an AoE or a mob. I asked why our server don’t do world bosses any more and I got trashed verbally (or like other pointed out “kitten d verbally”), and no body jumped to at least call him off from being rude to the others. I found out that this server apathy grew exponentially to levels of having Map chat impersonating /v/, and even after 2 hours, they would keep on and on with their arguments non-stop. Someone told me to just block them, but my block list is already quite bloated and if I keep blocking people, there will be no one left to ask for help.

Why I am writing all this here? Because… this thing keeps dragging on since years ago and it was one of the main reasons I left WoW a year ago. I get offended too easily because I’m a very shy and underwhelming person, and it is like some sort of stigma that even crosses the boundaries of the computer; every time I type something in public, someone is there to trash me, even if there is no apparent reason whatsoever. Even as I type this I’m afraid I will get scorned because I’m saying this in the open public, and I don’t know why this happens to me. I never had anyone to stand for me whenever I tried to talk to other people and got backslashed (even they shun me when I log in and say in Map chat “good day fellow Tyrians”). I never did anything bad to anyone, just trying to socialize and it is like I’m talking to Kraits that want me to suffer and die. I thought Guild Wars had more mature and easy going people, but the passing of time is proving me wrong, and every time they open a wound on me, is another reason for me to lump GW2 with WoW as for immature demographics and another game to avoid because:
-Can’t get people to help us clear content in the game
-Can’t talk to anyone at all (not even to get into a guild with strangers)
-Can’t ask a question about items, mechanics nor anything because everyone should read guides (?)

LFG was a boon for us but when we ask them something like “why we must stack here?” “how close to the wall?” “what I should do with my pet here?” “why we must walk up that ramp?” “what should I kite?” and everything else that it is unknown to us, they restrict their phrases to 4 words per line and never answering the questions, only repeating phrases “stack here” “hug the wall” “don’t move” “run” “go over starits” (sic) “ranger oul” (sic). Everything ends with a wipe and plenty of cussing and leaving us alone. I read guides about dungeons and when we do a LFG NO BODY FOLLOWS THEM (or at least the part about killing, cycling, phases of the boss, etc. because everything is RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN HEAL RUN RUN RUN REVIVE and it beats the point of yelling me to go read guides).

TL;DR It’s been years and I get never used to this kind of mental scheme everyone has for online playing. Like, everyone assume I am a man because I use male characters, and the most words used against me are “moron, kitten, gay” etc. like out of /v/ and other derivations. After telling this to my husband, he decided to buy us some gems to move to a new server but, I don’t think we will ever find a good server nor a guild with good mature people, be it in this game or in future games. I’m a good person, I love this game and its history and I work hard to understand mechanics and everything even though no body likes to share information like ol’ Communists, but again, the only thing that kills it for me is the people I’m forced to depend from…

We don’t have anywhere to go, and our only choice is to ask for asylum to a server with more manners and a good guild to where to spend the rest of our Tyrian lives. If there are truly players that help players, will anyone accept us for what we are so that we can enjoy the game without the spiteful players that loves to ruin the game experience of everyone?

PS: I apologize for the wall of text… Wanted this out of my chest, but I still feel uneasy at how people will react at it. I’ll kneel here and wait for my lapidation sentence if you wish.

I’ll stick to my pretty Dreadnought Visor until I see something better. Until now, I believe only cultural armor is the best fit for the Charr, no tail clipping, plenty space for almost every shape of horns and our ears can dance about without any problem. But yes, wish there were more options for all of us proud of our horns and pretty ears. I’m glad we can transmute from the start though!

CoF’s set are good on Charr too but, because it’s made by Charr for Charrs, it strikes obvious. I saw the Kodan’s Set, looking good even with no tail clipping, but horns and ears stick out like sore thumbs from the pretty helmet

Oh and I’m waiting until level 80 to transmute this thing for my necro because reasons :P It even changes the texture of the teeth, which is a nice touch (how many helmets out there in other games changes the texture of your own tusks and teeth? lol).

9/10 because for a Necro it suits them well, and with a Charr with a pointy grinny mouth it fits perfectly. I see it sounds like he’s a Gladium, and we all could benefit from their actions outside the Citadel and outside the matters of the Legions.

Mine is called Vargos Fleshmender, from the Flesh Warband, a Warband centered on healing and supporting in the battlefield (medik!). He’s over protective, Euryale’s BFF, to the point he takes his time off at the Priory’s library seeking for ways to resurrect his dead friends, without the emaciated and mindless side effects :P

It is sad to see that after all these months there is no fix nor continuation to Charr personal stories. I also released Vallus and I was trying to dig a little to see if there is something important about what he is helping to clear and to where he flew away. By what I get from Rytlock’s last dialogue is that Vallus was in the middle of sabotaging something that might affect Charr and Human relationship, that he was framed to guard an idol that was intentionally left there with his entire warband so that it would arrive to the Separatists without the hassle of stealing it directly from the Citadel. I believe Emer didn’t know she was forced to play along with that, because she was way too narrow minded to question why they had to “walk” the idol outside the Citadel after it was found.

There is also a glitch on the finished story Misplaced Fate, saying that they managed to save Sesric when it is not true and the humans killed him after they got their hands on the idol.

I hope they retcon everything or at least the Honorless Gladium part, and make the Charr home to reflect their choices and give some dialogues to our warband members and such. I recall around Bloody Coast, there is an event in which a Risen general appears from the water gloating about your dead partner (with NAME and all) from one of the Orders and you need it to kill him, and it is the only time I see an event in-game recalling you from something about your personal story.

Charr personal stories need more love or more polishing after we are done with all these dragons, at least to make them less “sketchy”. Sorry for the necro but it still needs some attention.

After so many hours I suppose I should do a mild spam request on Lion’s Arch and see if that works before deciding to move with my husband to another more active server. Really, it sucks there is no “Guild Recruitment” interface inside the game where other guilds can announce themselves to conscript players

I’m aware Anvil Rock seems devoid of good active guilds, or they announce themselves too scarcely and I can’t find any at all. I would like to join an active guild in this server, PvE friendly, loving the story that GW2 delivers, helping others to get their personal stories and story dungeons done and sharing secrets and tricks for jumping puzzles and such. I’m not very interested in PvP or WvWvW, but if needed, I can jump there and go bonkers on all the enemies at sight that dare to trespass our realm!

I would also like to join some RP friendly activities if any, since I love to play as my characters.

Failing to accomplish this, I believe I will end moving to Stormbluff Isle just to find some good community to join (hopefully NeoGaf’s one as those guys are doing awesome in that server).

So… hmm… please, pick me and lets have some fun defending Tyria from these rabid dragons and planeshifters in the shape of feathered snakes

Are you clicking the panels with the looks and the stats to chose which ones you want from each one? That’s not clear from your image.

Oh dear, I didn’t figure it out I could slide the panels around until you told me. Thanks all for the help and sorry for bothering you with this small intuition slip

Greetings. I’m having a little problem with my transmutation stones, or perhaps I’m not getting it right yet since I’m new playing GW2.

The thing is I got 5 [Fine Transmutation Stones] and 9 [Basic Transmutation Stones] y won from completing charting several maps and completing Story quests with my characters. I found a staff with a design I liked a lot for my character and I want to carry on that design on better staves with better stats.

The problem is, when I use the Fine or the Basic stones, I get to the panel, I place the weapons there but the button is still grayed out and I can’t transmute the staves at all.
They both are two-handed and such… I’ll provide a screenshot to see if anyone can see what is the problem and why I can’t pass the looks of my old staff onto the new ones.
