Idea - Claw island survival raid?

General idea: Take the Claw Island map and make this a survival defense map.

The idea is not to “win”, but to survive enough time. After each 5 waves, you fight against a boss. Each group of waves have a different kind of undead or dragon-themed group of enemies. Like Zaithan = Undead, Primordius = Fire-earth monsters, etc.

Players inside can’t respawn, but others can revive you. But you can use siegue structures, special weapons and others.

After a certain amount of waves each LIVING player in the group get a reward or/and token to exchange. More time, better rewards.

Have 3 kinds of survival:

1 – Free : You can play using your character, with your own stuff.
2 – Survival : You start with a “native” soldier of your own class, but with standart stuff and locked skillset. After each amount of waves, your group can vote to spend improvements or repairs in the fort, siegue structures and other things before the next group of waves.
3 – Extreme : Same of the before, but you start with a “native” soldier level 1, and after each wave, you have a small amount of time to level up, choose how to spend your hero skills and upgrade your base.

Idea: A Private group instance

Function : Add a private, additional instance to your character, with new features without the limits of the “free home instance” everyone get in each race. You can have to 5 private instances, account wide, but only one can be actived per time in each character. You can have type A in characer 1, type B in character 2 and etc in the same account.

Price: Around 5000 gems, you can choose one of five kinds of scenes.

Scene A : A boat in the sea, with a good discount of resources and materials of crafting. Can have a random chance to fish or make treasure hunter undersea or fight against pirates.
Scene B : An airship in the air flying in the sky with free access to any waypoint in the game, with player bookmarks (to work like the guild portal). Random dialy chance to fight agains flying creatures, pirates or dragon minions
Scene C : A private fort in an insland (like the claw insland) with a private arena, to summon any mob to train (without loot) or pay for a real challenge (you pay gold to fight for rare mobs, like special version of bosses). Random dialy chance to fight agains invaders, like undead, pirates and others.
Scene D : An underground laboratory (like the scarlet under the durmand priory base) with crafting tables. Random chance to make portal to bring enemies or stuff.
Scene E : Anciente temple with library and a theater. Random chance to make a ritual to bring enemies, like other examples before.

Resources:
1 – The same nodes you have in your home instance,
2 – merchantes
3 – A special option to take 15 people inside at same time,
4 – You can craft scroll portals to give to your friends to share the same place, paying 20 gold for each scroll (or use scribe skill to make one for yourself). Only can make 15 of each, and you can manage to activate or deactivate each scroll
5 – Option to craft invites for one use only to pay a visit to your private instance (1 gold to buy)
6 – Each private insance only works if the owner are online.

People have friends with other guilds or guildless. Everyone wish a way to meet and spend time in groups.

HoT have a relation of Love and hate.

You love the new class, the prestige class, new weapons, new fractals, guild halls, and a lot of things.

You will hate the HoT maps, because is too dificult to play alone, you are forced to farm mastery skills to not die in the jungle.

First thing, sorry about this topic.

I know a lot of people love, enjoy Hearth of Thorns expansion and the jungle. I respect you. But let explain… This topic… It is an exhaust valve, all the stupid frustrations of this game.

I love GW2 Core game like I love deeply GW1, love several of the new changes of the game and the HoT expansion. But there’s a lot that prevents me to enjoy 100% of this game. I just place here to discharge any frustration. Since it’s better this way than to stop playing and go to another MMO.

Thanks. I have no reason to chat more about this, or patience to try again. But this is a means to vent any frustration that I have had to play. After months reading forums, watching videos, following tutorials, I realized that the best for me to continue to love this game as before, is to stop playing in the jungle.

Being honest, I do not expect answers. I do not wish to respond back. But it is a feedback which no developer of the Anet will read or bother to understand the frustrations of a player, after months, trying to adapt to the Hot expansion, unsuccessfully, without seeing any reward or compensation valhe worth every frustration achieved.

I HATE HoT jungle. In the GW2 Core, you can enjoy to explore the world, enjoy to fight againt monsters in PvE, can join in events, can solve puzzles. Can play alone, in group events, in world boss events and dungeons or fractals.

But I never find HoT Jungle enjoyable. I never find exploration in the HoT enjoyable because you can’t play alone. And is really painful to find enough friends in the same time, to play with you in the HoT jungle because have no rewards or in game reasons to worth the high difficult challenges. I never find enough people to join in any raid. I never, never find exploration in the jungle decent enough, with tons of pornographic lag (In the exchange of a worse word), with a horrible framerate or a worse, demoniac enemy IA attacking you in large groups, with attacks can use a one-hit kill you. You can’t find decent gear in the HoT expansion or core game to protect yourself good enough to enjoy the HoT exploration in a decent, enjoyable experience.

I can’t find any decent class or especialization class to enjoy HoT. I find the chronomancer umber uselless with tons of not-so-WELL area attacks, and no enemy stay in the circle enough to fell the effects. My disappointment was so great, I had to stop trying to play HoT with a chronomancer for two whole weeks, realizing that all work to access this prestigious class was useless. In any other part of the game is very useful, fun, challenging in any part of the Core, fractals, dungeons and others.

But in the jungle is the icon of the most useless prestige class in the game. Their wells do not provide no pratical, useful effect in the HoT Jungle. Its range is fixed in a fauna where everything moves and nothing stopped waiting you to draw a pink circle in the ground, taking several seconds to start and in each update, nerf more and more the effects. Even their healing effects are idiots, because the other players will not stand still, turning easy prey for enemies, getting running after them or running away, not taking advantage of the effects of the wells.

Guardian, Ranger, Engineer, necromancer and other classes gived me frustration to play in the HoT jungle. I can write down a lot how each class and the prestige class have flaws, but trust me, I’ll just focus on Chronomancer because I am leaving aside and avoiding the most use the other classes in the jungle. I do not want to become sick of getting frustrated.

I have a strong, uncomfortable feeling of frustration when playing this HoT jungle. I do not see a good story that excites me to go further. I do not find goals that make me want to overcome the challenges ingame. I do not see strategies, ways, tools or people to help to go face the jungle that compensates for all the frustration.

I can’t find raids enjoyable because is really painful to find one to join. I can find anyone to play fractals or dungeons (before and after the updates) to play in group in any moment easily. But never find any good motivation to join or to find people to join or make a group. The “This is new” or “Have good rewards” is not enough to motivate people to join.

I do not identify in the jungle scenery. I can’t find NPCs with personal stories that are worth follow and pay attention. I can’t see elements of the scenario that make me wonder, ponder or theorize about the history of the game.

In core GW2, I can feel victorious, feel like exploring, win like a hero, have epic challenges and enjoy a decent, great challenges. You can be weak and spend more time to win fighting agains a strong enemy. Or can find a trick, a strategie to fight in your own terms.

In the jungle, every 5 steps I die miserable, in the worse, stupid way. There are places I have to spend 500 years joining useless xp just to get on the other side and find other new stupids ways to die. I can enjoy dark souls, why, in spite of difficult and extremely deadly, has a sense of victory, prestige and you can reach a feeling of challenge rewarding every time surpasses anything. I honestly can not find the same feeling in HoT. Honestly, I’m trying to find, without any success

I can play in the Core, winning challenges and achieve the masteries, which after all, are accessible. But in the jungle, I have to quit. I gave up to follow the story. There is no good feeling dying all the time, everywhere, with a degree of challenge beyond good will, patience of a player. I do not want to form groups of 5 players every time you play this stupid area. They hate a lot, don’t like, or have other excuses to avoid HoT jungle. Started a relation of love and hate. Love the core game, hate the HoT jungle. Getting a instant lvl 80 boost is not enough. Getting a shared inventory slot, gold, bags and items is not enough to find people to join in the jungle.

Is not hard to bring new people to play GW2. They fall in love after playing some hours. But start to quit, hating HoT jungle. Season 2 is difficult, but have charismatic characters, good, variable scenarios and some stories to follow. Sorry, I can’t think anything in this terms in HoT story, sorry.

Before the expansion, I loved to play 3 or 4 hours on my free days. Or at least two hours a day exploring tyria, fractals, wvw. pvp and other things. Now, barely stand 15 minutes playing in the HoT jungle, so much anger, frustration and discomfort to deal that this game provides. I can play more in the Core game, like the usual time. But every day I try to play HoT Jungle, I have to stop early and quit, because I lost all pleasure to play.

I can’t say anything good about HoT rewards, because I can’t enjoy HoT jungle, I have no good experiences finding anything decent. Everything requires a token, a key, a crowbar, a unwanted item to take space in your backpack.

I really tried to join in the HoT “adventures”, but again, no luck. A lot of them requires skills you have to play HoT enough time to access or enjoy. Play in the wild is usually frustrating, limiting prohibitive. Play the adventures and access your rewards have become, by extension, more inaccessible too.

Maybe I get this topic deleted or have my account banned just trying to vent all frustration that the HoT jungle game caused me. Probably this topic will be trolled. But I’ll be honest, it’s better this than give up the game. Still I love the GW2 Core, fractals, pvp, dungeons and WVW.

I just want to make clear how much I hate HoT jungle, and honestly, if I could, I’d rather have never played this area of the game. I try from time to time without success to find ways that are worth. But never find.

I could never feel anything rewarding, positive, fun going into that area of the game. And even with friends, frustration, anger, discontent was so great that never compensated in any decent way to enjoy any part of the HoT jungle.

Dungeons, although they have no attention of developers now, but If have the return of money helps but is not enough.

We had the season 1 and 2, HoT and will have season 3 in the future. As updates (appear to) have a gradual rise and that could improve the game experience.

And if only it were added the option of daily rewards for dungeons, will encourage players to create groups to play.

Lately it is possible to play in the first three dungeons because of xp to level up, and one or another specific reward (tokens). Other people play more to produce weapons.

Perhaps with some minor improvements, the dungeons can attract new and old players

Feedback & opinions always help. Even if they are negative.

Even if the developers do not move a finger to improve something in the game, at least it is better to give a fair, clear opinion, than be silent and go play another title without doing anything to try to improve.

After the game turned F2P, Anet need to seek quality and variety to attract and retain players. If you do not, the amount of players decreases and does not become economically viable to maintain the servers.

But despite your opinion be negative and even rude in some way, it’s your opinion. It is to be respected, though not add anything useful to the community or to the game. Congratulations on your opinion…

Hello. I play this game a long time, I have noticed a poor attention or development about dungeons. Some suggestions:

1 – Please, make a “Dialy Dungeon” option in dialy rewards. We have “Dialy Fractals”, we have “Dialy PvP”, and “Dialy PvE”, “Dialy wvw” but not “Dialy Dungeon” challenge.

Making this, we can incentive people to play dungeons to finish and play in groups, helping to finish and getting xp / making contacts.

Probably a good daily reward would be a box with extra tokens related to a particular dungeon reward , or else some kind of material that is used to create weapons, only found when you dialy dungeon.

2 – Make a mode named “Solo Survival Dungeon Challenge”: People love pvp, fractals but sometimes we need something to develop our skills as player, using a certain class and race. A Solo Survival challenge you have to play one of 4 paths (story and other 3) alone under a time limit in a hardcore mode, and if you character dies in the dungeon, is expelled from dungeon, with no ress.

If win, get an archivement and special stuff to make weapon, guild decoration and other things. To play “Solo Survival” you have to pay with dungeon token.

3 – Create new dungeon Masteries: Listen, Tyria Masteries looks good to play fractals or make easy your job to produce special weapons. But about dungeons?

  • Level 1 – Access a special vendor, to buy common consumables and can active the “mentor” tag (other tyria mastery), giving 10% of protection to each member of your party, once a day.
  • Level 2 – Possibility of exchanging tokens from a dungeon X by another dungeon Y, In the ratio of 2 to 1. It allows you to exchange tokens for rare items to produce decoration for guild hall, as long as someone else has 5 level in Dungeon Mastery to produce for you.
  • Level 3 – You have access to purchase recipes to produce themed armor and weapons by each dungeon, paying using tokens, and to make items need tokens too.
  • Level 4 – “Mentor” tag give to your party 20% of protection in dungeons, once a day, and allows you to change dungeons tokens at the rate of 1 per 1.
  • Level 5 – You can create dungeon-themed decoration to your guild hall, using tokens and items you can found in X dungeon, if you have 500 of a certain crafter skill.

4 – Please, make a set of new archivements for each dungeon. Alright, for now, only archivement we have if you get a full set of each type of dungeon armor and weapon. But we need something more challenging.

  • Archivements to kill each dungeon boss in a certain way or order.
  • Archivements to dodge something really difficult, or go in stealth in a whole way.
  • To finish a dungeon using a complete dungeon armor set, using the same type of dungeon armor.
  • Archivement to make the whole party finish the dungeon with no one in your group died.
  • Then either a group full of characters of the same class. Or a themed group of people of the same race.

It has many way to developing fun, challenging and rewarding achievements.

Custom Arena options - Some ideas

Some ideas to improve the custom arenas:

1 – Option “Enforce team”: If you join in red or blue, have to keep playing in the same team until to leave the room.

2 – Kick and Ban by vote: If the both teams vote, they can kick a player or ban him from the room. The room owner can set the time – A) Only kick. B-) Kick and ban for 1 hour, C ) Kick and ban for 24h.

3 – Spectador preferences:
A) Priority to choose the team: If the spectador spend a match only watching and if the room owner permit by configuration, he can have priority to choose a team in the next match. But have to keep playing in the same team.
