Just adding some clarity to the situation. Although, from what I’ve seen, you guys may want to consider changing to Backside [BS], as that’s what I mostly see from you.

ET used to be last place and sat there forever, we are now moving to 21st place because we have come together as a server, ET is a powerhouse, we have skill, communication, and teamwork that most servers dont have, the only thing you can say over ET is that at times different servers have more of a timebase coverage over our server or more people that play the game in there server.

Over time people will see what we have seen we moved from first place blackgate(IoM) to join up with the ET server community and together with all the guilds on this server we are slowly climbing the ranks, talk all you want about ET but you have no idea what your talking about and have no clue about how the core of our server runs or what we are about.

Do your research go ahead and transfer to some big tier’d server where you are never gunna get into wvw because all BGs will have a ques or be smart and join a server with a good community and base, Roaming is needed for all servers but all this 1v1 crying kitten or getting mad because you get zergd is bs, its Guild Wars get your guild together and be about what you say with your skill or shut your mouth,

Whoever have friends that are currently on this server and actually are getting involved in WvW would already know what ET is on and what we are about just remember at the end of the day this is a game and just because you have more of a timebase coverage over a smaller growing server dont mean kitten.

You IoJ really need to stop telling ET how our server morale is doing. I don’t think a server with low morale that is losing people due to low morale and is doing terribly due to low morale would be moving up into tier 7 when a few weeks ago they were last place. And few fair weathers? Everyone on ET that does wvw is as far from a fairweather as you can imagine. Ask SF how we are doing compared to when we were stuck with them in t8. Ask HoD how much we have improved. They’ll all tell you that we never give up, fight til the end, and fight hard even when against all odds. Oh, and while you’re at it, ask DR how we did last week after the weekend. Cause if I remember correctly we came back and beat them at the end of the week. Sure there won’t be as many people on during the day, or at night, because unlike you, we don’t have coverage at all times. If there’s one thing ET DOES have it’s morale. So shut up about how ET is on the dregs and our server is going downhill, cause you got nothing to back it up, and all the evidence points against you. And don’t take one small guild’s view of WvW as the entire server’s view. BS is just like PAXA: here for the fights and nothing else. We know that and respect that, and it doesn’t hurt us at all. I’m tired of all the “ET, your morale is terrible, you need to do this and this and this or else you’ll end up in last place.” Newsflash: we were just in last place, and we’re moving up, and don’t plan on stopping. We’ve had no guilds leave the server in months, and no one that’s even (afaik) considering it. We’re not competing with you guys cause you have superior coverage, and huge oceanic coverage (of which ET has little to none of). But during prime time, you can see that ET is competing with IoJ for being first in ppt. So say thanks to your oceanic guys, cause they’re the ones winning the matchup for you guys. Now, let’s cut the bs (not the guild) and actually enjoy the fights and the matchup.

I seem to remember a match about a month ago where GoM rolled ET/FC on Sat/Sun, and then Mon-Fri there was no fighting what so ever… we held SM and ET keep for the week. FC gave us a little struggle but. Meh its FC. Theyve got numbers out the butt. But soo many GCs.

I just wanted to take the chance to congratulate you guys on you recent capture. I can tell from the fact that you guys lined up for a photo that it was a HUGE accomplishment for you as most PVDoors are. I am sure that given you past exploits you faced insurmountable odds from the SF defenders (all 5 of them on the map lol). Also wanted to do so before one of the following occur:

A. Transfer again due to apparent “drama” (Which was supposedly remedied when [WvW] left but strangely remained while you were there)
or
B. Post more Gifs that get the post infracted

I must say that the venom in your post was most unwarranted and rather spiteful. The fine people from GoM are only doing there job and service for mother Janthar. I count 7 people in that picture and you claim there was 5 people in your borderland, yet did any of your people look and see why hills was contested? If that was a fully upgraded keep with a way point there should be NO reason why it was lost to only 7 people when you had almost equal numbers of people to defend it. It would of taken them 8-10 minutes to just break down both doors if they used 2 superior rams each on both doors. Not only that they would have to run back to bluewater to get more supplies for the second gate unless they where auto attacking the gate, which would take FOREVER. I can see a quick ninja cap of hill with alphas and most definitely with omegas, but there should be NO excuse for losing a keep when you could easily of defended it. If your 5 people did not solicit help to retake the keep and ignored it for a whole tick (45 min.) when it was paper, then I think a talk is in order for thous five people.

If your so mad at losing a keep to PvDoor maybe your server needs to do less roaming/skirmishes and more people playing guard in keeps. Also this PvDoor nonsense is just silly, why should our team not attack undefended objectives? Is it because it is dishonorable to take an objective without first notifying the owners first that we are going to assault it? There is no pleasing you is there in this match up, right? I think we once again have a two different cultures and interpretations of how WvW must be played.

As for our new IoJ heroes (RUN and there asuran friend), you make our server proud to have you and will hold a ticker tape welcoming at our next commander meeting for you. Though I have to say since you moved here you will have to deal with these “PvDoor” comments, just ignore them and continue to do what you do best. Just don’t go overboard with the gifs’, hate to lose the ability to attach them in the future due to to many infractions.

It is funny because you missed the sarcasm, I was neither on nor cared how many people were on. Also the 5 was a guess at how many SF likely had on at the time, not a reference to the “7” GoM/IoJ’ers that you counted.

Finding it hard to build an offensive ele that isn’t glassy.

Without being wholly bunker, an ele can’t work well in sPvP or WvW where a 2v1 Theif/Warrior combo is the norm. Thats an instawipe for an Ele that isn’t bunker, and even with bunker, that ele can probably only sustain enough to run away from the fight.

I’ve been asking for elementalist rifles for a while now. I feel people are limiting their view of this setting far too much.

Tyria isn’t a standard fantasy setting. Like it or not, it has some heavy steampunk elements added to it. Even some magiteck sci fi elements. And there are two races that I guarantee would have developed magic-based rifle combat. Charr and asura.

Recall if you will that all asuran technology is heavily magic based. All those laser guns and energy cannons? That isn’t technology, it’s magic. There are already magical firearms in the game. And the charr are pure pragmatists. Why arm a soldier with a staff when they can be armed with a rifle and get similar results? As a charr elementalist I’m not just a wizard, I’m a soldier who happens to use magic in the field.

Rifle can easily exist as a magical weapon in lore, and in fact does exist. We just don’t have access to a magical firearm outside the mesmer’s pistol.

I always felt the elementalist rifle should be a mixed bag of two animations though. Shooting animations for the single target shot spells and the auto attacks, but also able to be waved in the air the way the staff is to bring down ground targeted spells and AoEs.

If you can channel magic through a stick, why not a stick that shoots hot lead from one end?

I love this idea, but I also feel like a rifle’s kit might just end up being a mixed bag of current skills lobbed together… like the scattershot blood being essentially the trident earth 2; or perhaps a chainshot that’s basically the staff 1 on air… or a shocking net shot that’s the trident air 4…

I dunno =o depends on how/if they handle this.

I’m playing around with a condition ele build myself. I’ve gone full rabid (ascendeds too).

I am OMG Glassy and might borrow some from this to get that glass shored up a bit. But my question is this:

Why the sigil of geomancy? Eles cant weapon swap so that seems like a wasted sigil slow. What I use instead is the sigil of malice which extends condition duration another 5%. And though it may not seem like much, its helped win some fights for my team even after I’m killed :P

Wow 4 commanders transfer over night. 2 i knew well and 2 not so much. kind of makes you think. Starlight, I had a great deal of respect for as a commander at one point and lillium, I counted as one of my closest friends in game. while we haven’t spoke in a long while, and I won’t even pretend I understand or support some of the things that have happened since then. I will say, I will miss you. I will never forget the birthday party you threw for me or the time you had to settle me down for jumping on people to harshly. I hope I never meet ether of you on the battlefield… for 1 I suck vr necros.. and 2 I hate the idea of fighting a friend.

I, over the last few weeks, have grown grumpy and have not been having fun playing. For those that don’t know me; I and my small guild have held the northeast tower on our map for going on 8 months now. Week in, week out, we are there. I have personaly spent over 200 gold in upgrades and siege, 1000s of hours played and loved every min of it. I have 2 chr I play both only rank 23 because I spend 95% of my time in my tower. The last few weeks have been hard. Losing fully upgraded and fully sieged towers to power groups when am gone less then5 mins. Being told am the worst player on gom. Being asked to leave the map so people who “actually want to play” can get in and the smack talk/rudeness all have gotten me to the point where I have set my guild so that I can retire….. this weeks events have changed my mind. I am reminded, I don’t do what I do so people will notice or respect me. I don’t do it for anything other then love of the server. I love GOM. I WILL ALWAYS FIGHT FOR IT. People can come and go; I will stay and do my part. I will be the positive influence that I and many of the older crew always have been.

Gom is in a rough patch we will fight and come through stronger then ever. we will [RHISE] from the [ASH]es to fight another day. Like the [JEDI] we will do what’s right. we have a [RICH] player base with [HOT] heads but we all love each other at the end of the day. We will [WORM] our way back to the top as it should be… ok I know I missed a few but hell give me a break lol, message me in game and I will add your guild in.

I have cleared my blocked list. I will harbor no more ill will to server mates. all is forgotten. lets ROLL GOM
and I want to add that any Hambugers or other guilds that had there leaders leave if you need a new home hit me up DS would be proud to have you.

We here at Isle of Janthar are happy to have you make your new home with us. Please observe these simple house rules and World vs. World etiquette:
1.) Join the Isle of Janthar commander guild and deposit all your siege there, we are a communist server in that nothing belongs to one person but all for Mother Janthar.
2.) Isle of Janthar citizens are refrained from running alone in World Vs. World, any person caught roaming solo will be place on Dolyak Escort duty for one week.
3.) Commanders of Isle of Janthar are required be in the most obnoxious colored armor to enhance there visibility, while militia in red colored armor which is the official color of the server.
4.) All Isle of Janthar citizens are required to spend equal amounts of time in World vs. World and in Tyria. Failure to meet these quotas will result in 2 months hard laber farming cursed shore for the Isle of Janthar commander guild.

7.) Stonemist castle is not real, it is a cardboard cutout around a pile of Skritt droppings. This the truth spoken from Mother Janthar herself.
8.) If the heretics and capitalist pigs take any thing that is the property of Isle of Janthar, it is encouraged to respond with maximum force of 20 omega golems.
9.) Anyone person representing the server of Isle of Janthar will refrain from posting of Graphics Interchange Format images (Otherwise know as “gifs”) on public message boards and sites. The people of Mother Janthar frown upon the usage of said image “Magiks”.

GoM was and will always be my home. I cut my teeth with you all and learned what to do as a commander, and more importantly what not to do. You all frustrated the kitten out of me, but more often than not made the game fun and interesting.

I found the first guild in ANY game that I actually liked in Grape Justice; and friends that have transcended the game to RL friendships.

I am grateful to see that I won’t be losing friends over this, and know that there will be a lot of kitten-talking about those of us who leave. This shows the content of their character not ours. I promise to thread bomb GoM matchup threads, and will keep tabs on you guys as your benevolent watchdog.

I wish I could say something like “I love you all” but that’s hardly true.

Hey you guys are right, HoD zergs are skill-less.

Should make them easier to farm right? I’m not gonna give any super secrets away, but nothing like a couple well placed arrow carts, staff guardians and a choke point can’t handle AMIRITE?!

Think HoD is bad? I implore you to play Kaineng one day. Their zergs actually do have skill, so not only will they mop the floor in a ZvZ fight with your server, their pugs are disciplined to the point where they won’t even break off for a decent small man fight.

You literally fight extremely coordinated zergs all week long. Every person hugs the commanders kitten , like they are still in tier 3. I’m not even kidding.

And one of their guilds alone will take 10 people, and absolutely molest your fairweather pug zerg.

That is something that truly sucks, not a kitten thing you can do about it.

But HoD zergs? Like watching kittens lick the windows on the short bus. Many numbers, yeah. But just PvE’ers lookin’ for a new tower grind. Get your best WvW’ers together, and hit one of our zergs head on and half of em will run when people start hittin’ the dirt.

I promise. Some of my guildies laugh at the things said in map chat and in team chat like ‘Man these guys suck’ or ‘Man they don’t even put up a fight’ but these are the same guys who book it to pavilion farming when tower caps aren’t as simple as building some rams and playing pocket pool.

Same goes for 80% of our commanders too. Only show up when things are easy. Funny really.

Playing pocket pool is actually my only commanding skill atm.

Also we played Kaineng. They made me sad. I wanted skill and they gave me “OH MY GOD LETS THROW BODIES AT THEM” They’re a bunch of glass cannons who need some points in siege defense.
