I seriously doubt LA will be all gone forever, it will be back as before. Otherwise I am going to say Anet is being horrible, we need LA, I refuse to think Anet would get rid of the biggest hub in the game.
And to that i would say : They will make me stop playing the game unless they create a server wide event asking for crafting materials in order to rebuild the city that takes almost a year to complete.
Pay to Win is paying real cash for a power increase…
Where did all of you saw that on the gem store.
Ore, clockworck devices you can have all of it by playing the game, what is pay to win in this ? Do they sells weapons or gear in it ? No !! They are not required items to play the full game, GW2 is not a pay to win game.
If you want real pay to win, go to real F2P games hosted by Gpotato or Aeria games, there you will see real Pay to Win games…
You guys think that whole LA will be really gone after this update ?
I think it will be almost the same with few unused buildings burned down, damaged walls,…
With total LA destruction they would have to change so many personal story steps and that is simly too much for 2week update. (imho)
LA will be made explorable with events and mobs, you expect them to undo that after 2 weeks ?
If it is the case, they will lose players that don’t care about temporary content and want to see presistent ones to be done.
@ OP :
Short Answer : I hope it will never happen as it would be betraying Guild Wars 1 fans that are playing Guild Wars 2.
In a role-playing game, you shouldn’t have to roll those numbers. Dice were added because table-rpg needed some random factor and computation had to be made to check wether you succeed or fail.
The problem with CRPGs is that they still haven’t removed that stupid concept of levels and they still don’t have hidden the numbers. Skyrim made some progress in that regard, but the innovative (ahem) Guild Wars 2 still shows you some stats. Ideally, if you have numbers, you should have all the numbers, that means the Hit Points and complete abilities of each mob so you can play accordingly, but no. Secrecy is the master, because numbers are all that matter.
Remove the numbers, focus on the story and horizontal progression and you have wonderful games. People would be lost at first, but they’d quickly adapt to that.
In the Secret World you don’t have a character level, but you still have stats on Gear and on Character.
In EvE online you don’t have a level, but you have the level of your character’s skills and the stats of the ship that you’re flying.
In RPG, stats are a component to say to you that you are efficient at one thing or say that if you do that quest you will die within a 98% probability. You will never be able to do RPG and MMORPG without giving the player an hint of his capacity to do a quest or a mission, even if the player himself is a good one.
Well written and a fair tribute to Lion’s Arch.
We will stand, defending it to our last breath !!
Get your weapons ready, give them no mercy !!
Fractals is a start in End Game content, but very weak compared to GW1 elite zones.
I play a support / tank Guardian both in PvE and WvW, and i have no problem with loots. I have 2k6 Power and 3k1 Armour, dealing critials at around 2k6 in AoE and i have no problem with loots despite my poor DPS.
Despite loving Guild Wars 2 and having a 2000+ hours living in Tyria content seems to get short.
At this point we need more end game contents, kittenes.
Living story is a fantastic tool and i love that. It is a good way to improve the world of Tyria, making some events and changing the world. But one thing still getting me angry : why is it still open world things, ruined by zergging fest and not challenging at all.
Lion’s Arch is at the point where it will be destroyed by scarlet, making it explorable. That is good, but being explorable by hundreds of players at a time, it will ultimately be a new zerg fest, like level 80 norn zone witch is being completly bugged out but champions farming zerg.
Why not making of Lion’s Arch Zone an elite zone for 10 players, full of events and challenges, with bosses coming from different Scarlet’s alliances ?
Why not giving players hard elites zones with some challenge ?
I know that instancing is cutting player base to the ground, dispatching them in every corner or Tyria with fewer social aspects but today what will players do ?
Classic dungeons are not challenging anymore, Scarlet puppet does not even giving a worth to try because its success is on the side of a hundred of players witch are not all good players. I tried it, and failed at each of my tries. I don’t want to go to see the 3 headed wyvern because i know it will go the same way. Zerg play is not a way to play MMO in my opinion ; group focused is on the other side. Orr is not challenging, Arah is fully bugged.
I love Guild Wars 2, i love the work done by Arena Net, but i think there is more ways to improve the game, with more challenge. Underworld, Fissure of Woe, and all elites zones were the pride of PvE content of Guild Wars 1, why not doing the same for the sake of PvE in Guild Wars 2.
Please, feel free to discuss on that thread in polite and constructive manner, giving ideas or your thinking are welcomed.
With rumors of scarlet wanting to destroy races zones in living story, i honestly don’t understand why they are selling this item. in short terms, if we don’t find anymore of theses ores in outside landscapes, i totally disagree with that item and the way it goes in the gemstore…
If it is a convenient item and we still find ore outside, it is still a borderline item and with players that are seems ok with this, we will then see some more advanced packs in the same way, and i don’t find it quite good for a mmo where you have to move yourself to get what you need.
