So as most of us know you can port to Heart of the Mists then into another portal to Lion’s Arch which will cost you nothing. So why not make a button where you can port directly to Lion’s Arch or just make it free to port to the waypoints in LA, you could also do this for the other cities or much cheaper! As it stand you gotta endure two load up screeens to get to LA:(
(Cons: this would mostly make the portals in LA reduntent. Pro’s Would ease server traffic in LA meaning less Overflow issues, also would breath some life into the other cites).
+1 if you like the idea;)
Yeah, I know that happens. But at least in T1 we see some strategies applied as well. And ofc there is the siege positioning, you don’t just throw it at random always.
Well, I’m sure you know what I mean by the knowledge of the maps being important. It’d be difficult if you were defending Durios and tried to get reinforcements, who had no idea where Durios is and can’t find it on their maps.
So you are saying people can’t learn to press “M” and read is too difficult? Or do you think everyone else is too dumb to do the option above or even use this memory thing in our brains. Is it really not possible to remember more than 3 maps? Also if you some how find your self running around with brainless goons then they could just zerg on the commander tag using the mini map as a compass. I really would like to think people ain’t that dumb thou and I think it presumptuous to assume people are.
Strategy ofc is important in WvW .
What strategy?
“guys! there’s an icon on the map saying that our two opponents are doing battle! let’s go <not there> and cap a bunch of stuff!”This is constant for all maps and I see no reason why it should be said otherwise.
There’s always tatics (ie the best route to win) and usally this is the tatic of mass in mmo’s (ie zerg). If you chose to call it something else, or nothing or ignore it all togeather then thats up to you. The Art of War applies to everything!
Account bound is good idea. The only option if you have a soul bound precurser would be to make it into a legendary and sell it that way.
Well yes the latter option is better I admit. Strategy ofc is important in WvW as in PvP. However a cycle of say 2 or 3 diffrent maps wouldn’t be too hard to learn and would allow for some diffrent tatics rather than the same old ones used over and over. The map change could be monthly so people get a good play of each.
Don’t know if this has been suggested before, but I really think the maps need an update or change. For a start it is quite disapointing that there are three maps excatly the same. Four diffrent maps would be much better (with diffrent themes), atm its more like just having two. Another idea is having map sets that change with every WvW reset, this way you could have 3 maps the same but provide a change of scenery.
I’m not sure if this fight is bugged or not. It seems the rocks are falling too fast because if you get hit you’re basically guaranteed to die because another one is falling shortly after.
We wiped our 1st time, but the boss was still in combat when we got back and had 10% hp. When we engaged him and killed him he literally filled the entire area around himself (even though he was dead) with red circles that were still dropping rocks 10 seconds after he was dead and murdered us again.
Basically they’ve pushed this dungeon into being more ranged friendly because the spider boss is a death trap in melee range now.
Melee on the spider i found easy on my guardian (as long as gorgoyles and other spiders are dead) in fact with all my retalition and prjectile reflecting it dies faster than the one before. Squishy toons seems to die here a lot.
Lol, it’s the only smart thing to do in these dungeons Nittles. Why pay a 15 silver if you can get no damaged equipment at all. It only seems fair to me.
It’s the same reason Magic Find doesn’t work on Chests. They don’t want you getting the benefits of the armor without the downsides. If you’re getting the stat boosts from the armor, they want you to have to pay for repairs. Even if they never remove the ability to remove your armor to avoid repairs, they’re certainly never going to make it easier. Nor do I believe they should. It’s a cheap tactic that makes no sense whatsoever.
I’m not sure why your so opposed to something that can be done anyway, how does it impact you? or are you secretly an armour repair merchant! Yes it makes perfect sense, you remove armour, it doesn’t get damaged, you save money (what part of this doesn’t make sense??)
Often in some dugeons or other situations, people remove their armour so its not damaged. Perhaps a feature of clicking the town clothes button should act in the same as if you removed ur armour (including back part).
You should be able get starter skins (thats part of your story) at any time, much like the HoM skins. I’ve had a Fanged Mask and had it up to lvl70, yet now its gone for what ever reason and I’m gutted as this was part of the appearance I was going for. Now I’ll have to either have to reroll again or have to go with out helmet like most of my toons cuz most helmets suck. I can’t even roll another mesmer and transmute the mask because of this stupid Soulbound nonsense (Account bound would be better). Apparently some people had done this in the past ,but it seems they have patched it which sucks even more. I mean its not game breaking, just spoiling peoples fun.
Fanged Dread its called
I’m missing the starter demon mask from my mesmer career, seems to have disappeared. Does that mean I have to wipe my lvl71 mes and start all over again to get it back Most gutted.
iowenHere’s hoping they don’t keep nerfing the living daylights out of PVE Guardians for the sake of PVP
They are not nerfing guardians PvE for the sake of PvP, guardians were to usefull both in PvE and PvP.
iowenTry giving us something back when you take something away, is that really too much to ask?
Guardians are suppose to be guardians and that means they should protect others which they already do insanely good (I’ve seen many times people looking only for guardian specifically because they are just so good at keeping party alive).
So giving that argument, when they out-perform any other support, why should they still be able to do same or even more burst/AoE damage? This was and still is unbalanced, they change only one thing in one weapon…
i’m guessing you don’t play a guardian then;)
didn’t think it was so powerful tbh, such a small static area, if you can dodge that then there is something wrong with you.
Yes Sphinx I was just thinking the same thing about the skill bar, why not let players put it in the order they like? And is that the reason they changed it for cool down order (facepalm). Leap of Faith is great XxTAFxX (casues blindness!) and is an aoe effect if i’m not mistaken?
It would be clearer if you reference the terms used in the game which is named after the historical Guild Wars between various Guilds in the different human kingdoms of Ascalon, Kryta and Orr. (See the official GW wiki for more information)
A warband is a Charr cultural term relating to their social and military society and, other than the RPG part of your Charr character in this MMORPG, has nothing to do with players.
It costs 100g to purchase the Commander’s Manual which will elevate only one character on your account to “Squad Commander”. A Squad is effectively a large party which is applicable only in WvW and to many people would indeed be a grand waste of money. To those heavily involved in WvW however, it can be a valuable (if perhaps pricey) tool. Personally I think that the commander status should be per account rather than per character.
All Guild members are represented in a different colour in game but I would like to see little gold dots on the map to represent all of the members of your Guild that are on the same map as you.
Yes seeing other guildmates in wvw or indeed other maps would be great. I didn’t know the terms indeed, but the point got across.
why? is it a problem if non guild members join you? Anyway I think this mechanic isn’t designed for guilds anyway. They have their guild chat to communicate. This mechanic is designed for people who aren’t in a big guild but are looking for other people to fight with in WvW.
Maybe it isn’t, but it would be handy for guilds wishing to work to geather to have an easier way to see each other on the map.
So, I’m told that it costs 100g to unlock warband for one toon only. But apparently anyone can then join this warband. Surely a game that is called Guild wars should enable u to have guild only warbands. So basically its a grand waste of money as it stands.
