It’s been a bit quiet over the holidays but we’re still looking for new members and we’re still running weekly dungeons and other events.

Has anyone else done Path 1 to HoTW?
Nothing was even wrong with this path…

The only things we did in HoTW is close off map exploit possibilities in this recent patch. We didn’t touch any of the bosses to my knowledge.

CoF path 1 is now impossible to complete. First off the stupid boss has 9,000,000,000 health to begin with. Took 20 minutes flat out to kill him.

We didn’t touch that boss in the last patch, and I beat him with a PuG this morning. It is not impossible. It can certainly take lots of time if you don’t kill the crystals he summons though.

I have done HotW for the past 2 weeks just to get the armor set, and until today, I have never encountered Aldus spawning anything in all the times I have fought him.

Then we run path 1 today, and we hit a wall with Aldus because the mobs suddenly spawn, then we run around, they despawn/disappear, rush Aldus, they appear again at full health, or a different set of mobs appear, same thing, all of them have a ton of HP, it was ridiculous.

I am not sure what’s going on, because we ran the path yesterday, AFTER the Winter’s Day patch build went up, and he didn’t spawn anything. Is this bugged or what?

This was happening before the patch although I agree it’s super annoying and difficult although not impossible. Out of 4 runs I’ve done this path, the neverending spawns happened twice. First was last Saturday, the second time was today.

Unfortunately, no credits play at the end of the story like they did at the end of GW1 campaigns.

Thanks for the support. It is unfortunate that TC seems to have been constantly Full for a while. You’re welcome to join us from other servers though whether you plan on transferring later or not. And you can always join us for dungeons as long as you’re on a NA server.

We’re having a lot of fun running dungeons but we also hold just for fun social events and run whatever members need help with. Come join us.

@Araushnee Many of us have social anxiety in the guild, including feeling shy or awkward in large groups, having trouble speaking up, and feeling nervous joining groups. Although we also welcome anyone with any kind of anxiety whether it affects them in game or not. And you’ll never be pressured to use any kind of voice chat.

Although we’re starting to do explorable dungeons now, we are still scheduling story runs as members need and we often have members willing to repeat story mode to help out newer members. This week we have Twilight Arbor Story Mode scheduled on Friday night and Honor of the Waves Explorable on Saturday night.

@Lordryux I know it’s a pain right now to get on TC. It’s unfortunate. However, we do welcome members from other servers and you can join us in dungeons cross-server.

I have two norn:

Guardian’s name is Svanhild. It’s a Norwegian name which comes from the words for Swan and Battle and is also the daughter of Sigurd and Gudrun from Norse mythology.

Hunter is named after one of my GW1 characters, Druantia Hawke. Not sure that one is too Norn sounding.

@Aeleniel I’ve been working on my guardian a lot lately and have absolutely fallen in love with mace/shield. The regeneration on the #1 and #2 and the protection and block on #3 and #4 really help with survivability and I also suggest putting points into toughness and vitality early on. At 45 I have 10 Zeal, 15 Valor, and 10 Honor and use Defender’s Flame to do extra damage when I block.

I’m interested. I haven’t joined a guild in a LONG time since I got way to into it with the last game I played, but that has been a year or two. I dont really have any major anxieties except I am pretty quiet, dont talk much, I dont care for voice chat much, I prefer typing to communicate if I can. I’m looking for a guild that I can participate in and be as awesome as I can be at that. I have odd hours sometimes and cant always play the same days and time each week. Also, at work I am usually in charge, when I play GW2, most of the time I would rather follow than lead since I play it as a break from reality.

I’m an officer is a small guild on TC. We’ve been doing pretty well getting new members by my standards. Since I took over recruitment posting, we’ve gone from 9 to 30+. That may seem small still but we don’t aim to be huge due to nature of the guild.

If you’re trying to get more members, my best suggestion would be to figure out what makes your guild different. There seems to be a lot of guilds out there looking for the same thing so it makes sense that they would be having a tough time recruiting. In the same vein, you might want to add public information to your site so visitors will know what your guild is all about and what are the expectations of members. All I could find were rules. And if you’re mostly recruiting through your site, you should try to get your current members to post more. At first glance the forums look kinda dead so it’s a bad impression on potential members.

I don’t want to grind for new items just to be able to play new content. I’ve been a GW fan for years and this is the first decision by them that has truly made me upset.

I understand what you’re saying, but what if a couple of strangers turn out to be a couple of warriors that trait deep into their defensive trees and a support guardian?

For me, I don’t put as much focus on the classes and builds players have but rather if they’d be sociable and pleasant to group with. And I’m not saying I wouldn’t group with strangers. If I receive a polite pm asking for help or to group for an event or such, I might give them a chance.

@Kaii I’m up for some AC exp runs. I’ve only run path 2 successfully. I haven’t had a lot of chances to run explorables up to this point. Also, I’m on TC and love it even though I don’t RP. The atmosphere and community are just really nice for the most part.

@nottsgman I’m almost to Arah in my personal story as well. I’d be happy to run the dungeon with you. I was gonna wait til my guild runs it but I don’t mind helping out. Also, if you wanna try the cross-server instance thing for the normal storyline quests, I’m up to try that too. I’m currently at “The Steel Tide”.

wondering if your still recruiting. would like to join your guild. i am on the west coast too..I really dont suffer from anxiety. But im not able to play to much during the week because of my job. I work 10-12hr shifts during my 4 days of work( I’m in law enforcement) and have weekends off and monday. My bf would probably be interested to for he plays WVW,PVE and PVP. Me I only play mainly pvp and pve. hope that wouldnt be a prob.

I can’t recommend Mesmer enough. It’s my main and I love it. I don’t know where all the comments about being bad in PvE are coming from. I have less trouble on my mesmer than any of my other classes. But it is definitely a thinking class.

Iam very shy and have social anxiety. Every guild I join Iam not suitable for as they only communicate by TS and never by typing and expect everyone to do the same. So I feel left out and never get to know anyone.

Iam too shy to use TS and no one seems to understand how I feel and just say there is no need to be shy. It’s not something I can control.

This guild does sound great. But Iam probably on the opposite side of the world from everyone else and want to know what time do you have events and dungeon runs? As even though the guild sounds great, there’s no point joining if no ones ever around when Iam.

Many of us certainly know how you feel. I struggled to find a guild that didn’t rely heavily on voicechat as well.

We are mostly on afternoon and evening US time, some up rather late into the night but I’m usually not still up then. If you’re in an oceanic time zone we may not not have many on at the same time. But you’re welcome to join anyway if you like. We have no problem if you belong to other guilds.

Our weekly dungeon run is on Saturdays 7:30 US EST. Otherwise right now we just run events as members need.

About 3-4 weeks but I don’t remember exactly. I took a few breaks to work on alts but not much. I already knew what I wanted my main to be though from being in the beta. I wasn’t really trying to get there. I just played through the story and completed zones. Leveling comes naturally when you’re having fun

As for picking a main, I do suggest playing each until you get a good feel for them and narrow them down until you discover the one that fits you. There’s nothing wrong with alt-itis though.

This is a really great group of folks who are very friendly and supportive. We’ve been doing dungeons every week and grouping up for exploration and wvw. Any time someone needs a little help whether it’s completing a zone or just getting through a vista, other members jump to help.

I really support what you’re doing with this guild. I think it’s great that you’ve made a safe haven for women who haven’t been able to find a comfortable gaming environment in other guilds. I haven’t experienced a large amount of sexism in guilds but I’ve certainly experienced crude and insensitive behavior. All the criticism I’ve seen in this thread just proves how much a guild like this is needed.

I haven’t decided whether to join or not but wish you all the best of luck either way.

I’m a 27 year old female gamer looking for a guild for PvE and WvW (mostly PvE). I have a 71 mesmer currently, but plan on leveling several alts as well. I’m on Tarnished Coast but may consider transferring while it’s free. I played GW1 for 5 years and plan on sticking with GW2 for quite a while.

I’m in CST but work an early schedule so I’m usually on 4pm-8pm CST. So I’m not interested in a group that’s only on late evening. I do tend to be on all hours on the weekend.

I really don’t like voicechat of any sort so I’m looking for a guild that mostly uses guild chat/party chat.

I’m looking for a guild that:
- medium sized
- groups a lot whether it’s for dungeons, wvw, or just exploring and map completion
- social
- where I can make friends
- semi-casual
- scheduled events are a plus
