Endgame: The real concept, of. (opinion)

To me, the end game is like the 2nd part of the game that determines what you do with your powered up character. Yea you can call leveling up endgame if you want, but that’s really just cheesy if you think about it.

I think leveling is like salad, and endgame is like the main course. Of course most people might tell me that i was doing endgame while leveling but…

I think as long as anet keeps doing content updates, then the game can stay fresh and interesting. Since everyone who has lots of time on their hands like me, will get bored quickly.

What do Engineers excel at?

i don’t know about the engineer class.

Coming from a PvE point a view, turrets are decent for support and absorbing hits, grenades deal good damage, and pistol offers lots of conditions. Also engineers do good buffs and abilities with their aoe tool kit elixier spells.

From a Pvp stand point, well….. you can spec into being a tankish character who guards a point area. Their damage is not that great in PvP, and turrets are rarely used, but that’s about all that goes for them.

If you are doing a premade, get with a necromancer and use dual pistols for conditioning damage. If you are in a group of 5 players, go elixer gun and spec for elixers so you can buff your whole team.

Also their ultimates are pretty nifty. They can supply drop stun a group of players, and provide healing.

The rocket cannon thing is not so great, but it gives a person a range attack in WvW

So yea, that’s what i think of the engineer. It could use some PvP buffs that’s about it.

MMO's need a grind but not for fluff

The reason i like having a gear grind is because i simply have too much time on my hands. Cosmestics doesn’t feel like i am accomplishing something when i raid or PvE for it.

I prefer stat gains, or additional levels or more powerful abilities as end game. But not during the leveling phase.

I was pretty bum out at level 60 that i had unlocked all my abilities and felt leveling further was not any much fun, since there was no new abilities to unlock after aquiring enough skill points.

But yea, i have a lot of time on my hands, so i enjoy my end game to bring more options, powers, stats, and stronger growth.

If i didn’t have lots of time in my hands, i would be a casual, and probably wouldn’t care enough about end game because other real life rewards would be awaiting for me.

That’s just my 2 cents.

Rewards as incentive is a community issue, not developer

The problem i think, is some people have more time to play then others, this leads to content being devour faster.

Now level 80 players might complain that they have nothing to do, and i agree with them, I’m not level 80, I’m only level 78 and quit after that.

But i think it comes down to this game being for casuals or players who have jobs or functional lives, so they only get maybe 3 or 4 hours of gaming a day instead of us who might play 12 or more hours a day.

It’s a great game don’t get me wrong, the journey was excellent, but now that i did my time, I’m done. Perhaps for others who don’t play as much, they have not gotten bored yet or perhaps they are achievement junkies or perhaps they play for some other reason, either way, the game is great, just not a good investment for a hardcore player with out a career in their life.

Obligatory 'best name I've seen' thread...

My charr warrior’s name is Growl Claw, and my Charr engineer’s name is Fizz Crunk. I like having names that would match their life style.

Aside from being "fun" there is no real goal

My problem is i don’t have a job, or have to earn a pay check, i get free checks in the mail. With that said, since i have a lot of time in my hands, i consume content faster then other people.

I think i put about 169 hours on my charr warrior who is about to hit level 78. I got bored and the repetitive PvE content and now I’m back playing wow.

Granted, i still care about the game, and will keep tabs and updates about it, but for the most part, i’m done with the game. I think for 60$ no subscription, it was a decent deal. Not amazing, but i didn’t get ripped off.

It’s better then diablo 3 i can tell you that much.
