The thief hit you 5 times to your two auto-attacks as your engineer. I’m noticing a common occurrence with you getting owned here…
They also said they put the horn hat thingy back on the gem store… it’s not there.
Why? If you die right near one, it’s happened to me several times. Consider that porting to a point literally 10 feet away will cost about 75% as much as teleporting across the world.
But again I stress… I do not have a problem with the cost
While I agree in part, you’re neglecting the fact that it takes a decent amount of time to build up rage for that shot, and if someone is actually paying attention to you they will break LoS or dodge it.
I was under the impression that aggro was basically random in this game… an old guildmate of mine worked out a formula for determining aggro in GW2…
Get 4 6-sided die
roll them and write down the numbers on a piece of paper;
fold the paper in half and disregard the numbers and flip a coin;
disregard the coin toss.
Personally I find the flamethower to be generally meh anyways outside of the utility / control aspects and frankly, I can get that with nades (that I already have for damage) and a battering ram or even just my base rifle. I really don’t see the upshot to using flamethrower unless the damage is boosted to make up for having to be so close to be effective (vs nades that do more damage and have more range)
Didn’t say there was a problem with it… was just explaining. I understand the costs are supposed to be prohibitive but I do feel like close ports are a bit on the high side… however, it doesn’t particularly bother me at all.
Nerelith, the point the OP is making is it takes 10-15 min to recoup the cost of a single teleport. I somewhat agree that it’s a bit steep but at the same time…. it makes you reconsider walking (time sink) or porting (money sink). It would be nice if a port 2-3 min of walking away didn’t cost 2-3 silver (in the event that you get killed)
I don’t understand why they don’t make it so only players can sell gems and let the players dictate pricing. If Anet supplies no gems on the gem exchange, and 100% of the gems come from players who sell them the prices should even out over time. Currently speaking, there is little to motivate selling gems (as a player) considering we cannot set the price, and there is a rather noticeable difference between what you can sell them for and how much they cost to buy.
2. Using in-game mail to avoid the 15% fee is just exploiting. If Anet wanted you doing this they would have added a person to person trade feature. Stop exploiting and scamming people and you don’t need to trade by mail.
Really? Mail trading = exploiting? Pretty sure if Anet felt that way they wouldn’t have allowed people to trade items in the first place. I give money and items to friends regularly via mail, this idea is asinine and doesn’t accomplish much other than punishing legitimate players. Many people are already upset that this game did not come with a trading feature; removing the ability to mail money would just make people even more upset.
Currently, for those of us who already finished the quest, the only way in is to tag along with someone finishing the final quest. Anet is looking into a fix for us.
