80 Guardian
Stormbluff Isles
Ive been playing my guardian since day one and ive been playing with Power, Vitality, Condition damage gear… ive noticed having more vitality is nice!!! but doesnt solve the problem against damage im taking on the frontline:/ i HATE glass cannon builds. Im using 5 Chysocola Jewel Items (Power Vit Condition) but im curious as to if i should get Power Vit Toughness Armor or Power Toughness Condition Damage armor. Also, what are you guys thinking for a build? i really only hate the staff…
Do the100g WvWvW leader tag, the 100% Map icon, and titles all apear on every character you have?
For example if i get the 100% map icon on my guardian does it still show up on my level 31 Thief?
The task is supposed to be hard, and it is. The Wiki suggests you kite mobs in circles. The method is do-able and just takes a couple tries… this is the only tough part of this run and the more you do it, the easier it gets. My thoughts to you.
1. Get a chat program and communicate better with your group.
2. Learn your buddies play styles and use builds that work well for the task
and if those dont help, join a guild that can help you.
Content is supposed to be hard, its the only end game you have. They want dungeons to be hard for about 6 months. Once you do them enough they will be easy. Once theyre easy to everyone… theyll add more content.
So what you’re telling me is that we should kite the mobs instead of actually “Defend” him like the event is supposedly designed as? Am I getting this right?
Technically, if you kite the mobs away from him you are defending him.
“Defend Magg while he plants the bomb to destroy the gate. Tip: just kite the mobs in circles; the mobs will disappear once the bomb is planted.”
thats on the actual GW2 WIKI http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Citadel_of_Flame
And for the record, i completed that dungeon being the only 80 in my group today on Maggs Path (option #2) all other players were between 77-79. Just takes coordination. Set up all your Survivability and snare weapons/skills and run like hell. Two in three out.
At first, i hated Orr, because i was just trying to run through, grab all my crap for map completion and get my story line done. I thought it was stupid that all mobs are Humaniod undeads and drop limited max level mats, then i opened up to frostgorge and fireheart area which are like 77-80 level areas, not to mention you can get max level mats on WvWvW maps. Orr isnt so bad, but with the next expansion, id like so see some better max level areas.
I played Guild Wars one, buying every expansion except eye of the north. Back then i was more focused on playing instead of being interested in the lore behind it all. Waited all this time for Guild Wars 2. I was PUMPED to play to say the least. Played through the open beta weekends, and then i pre purchased and played the 3 days of pre release. No MMO launches completely smooth, and i dont believe this is an MMO that should be compared to the others in most aspects. There were some bugs the first couple days, big ones were skill points and tasks not being recognized.. No big deal, just wait for a fix. The game was BEAUTIFUL, character creation was amazingly customized, and the classes/game set up was something no other MMO had. This game was truly something unheard of.
I played wow once i got bored with Guild Wars 1 and would often travel between the two. A lot of people believe that Guild Wars 2 is bad because its not just like wow, i strongly disagree. However, i have a lot of issues with this game that im sure a lot of other people feel the same way about.
1. There is no direct ticket to GM help.
2. Trading Posts are server wide and overflows are some what server wide, yet there is no dungeon finder?
3. GM’s dont seem to care what the player population has to say.
And heres my big issue… No End Game TACTICS. The fact that there is no end game doesnt bother me at all.. I dont mind running around this beautiful environment doing tasks, gathering resources, and exploring areas. I like working towards cosmetic items to make my character look awesome! Also, i like that the server wide trading post has caused the prices of things to be easily affordable for all players. I LOVE not having to spend hours every night sitting in a raid group working on the same boss over and over again, only to do the same thing for the next 4 nights until the reset! But WHY is it that the patches are so focused on making it impossible to farm, instead of fixing issues with the actual game? You guys had plenty of time to figure out that the super HXC Hardcore players were going to farm certain things to death reguardless! Especially dungeons!
Instead of fixing bugged skill points, terrain errors, massive interface problems and content issues… the focus is on preventing players from doing dungeons. Now that being said, it isnt as bad as it seems. Yes, some skill points, tasks, terrain issues, interface problems, and story line quest issues are being fixed.. and i know its a long process to fix those. And dont get me wrong here, i think the new dungeon system is great. Enter a dungeon, go through content, die a lot, lose more money than you make, get rewards at the end for your hard work(Tokens). Thats how it should be, its the only end game we have! It needs to be hard, but still remain some what pug-able. (Currently seems pug-able for most dungeons). But why is it that when you guys PATCH this stuff up.. you break more than you fix? I got cheated out of the 60 tokens from dungeon runs TWICE, because i got 15 at the end instead of the 20 for the dungeon complete, and the 40 for it being the first run of the day on that path. That made me mad, but i went to try a different path and the last boss was so broke it was impossible to do (CoF First path with the crystals) And theres a post on the dungeon forums where a dev AGREE’s that a lot needs fixed with that boss. Nearing a month after public release and the game is still more than 50% broke and unbalanced.
Not trying to complain completely because i do love the game… but get your priorities straight… When you patch things… patch them… and according to google to patch means “Mend or strengthen (fabric or an item of clothing) by putting a piece of material over a hole or weak point in it”. I didnt read anything about breaking more parts of the object in the process.
In my years of playing video games and MMOs, ive played games like Ultima Online, Anarchy Online, Knight Online, Guild Wars 1, World of Warcraft, and a couple others. Yet for some reason, when Guild Wars 2 is patched, i feel like im being punished… and this is the first time ive ever got that feeling. Anyone got any ideas as to why it would feel this way? Anyone else get the same feeling?
Im okay with the whole " you get nothing until the end" thing. However, it was my first run of the day on ANY dungeon.. and i ended up getting 15 tokens compared to the 60 we are supposed to get. Anet needs to fix this and i want the other 45 tokens for my wasted time : /
The task is supposed to be hard, and it is. The Wiki suggests you kite mobs in circles. The method is do-able and just takes a couple tries… this is the only tough part of this run and the more you do it, the easier it gets. My thoughts to you.

I just did a CoF explore run and at the end i got 15 tokens. First run of the day, too.
“Dungeons reward 20 tokens for completion and now reward an additional 40 tokens for the first time they are completed each day. This means that if players can complete all 3 chains of a dungeon in a day, they’ll receive a total of 180 tokens, which is enough to purchase some of the smaller rewards. "
So now not only do i feel like my 20s in repairs was wasted, but also i was cheated out of the only loot worth doing that dungeon for. Thanks!
