Nothing.
The game is too far gone to ever revitalize interest in it.
It’ll go free to play, eventually.
All the maps are desolate. kitten, the new map that was just opened emptied in under four hours.
The game’s dying.
No idea, but it’s pretty much as dead as any non-cursed shore map now.
That’s pretty much my experience.
A laggy opening event where auto attacking was all I can do, followed by a blatant gold sink of an event reward NPC, (No seriously, do some of the math required to buy that stuff and it’s honestly not worth it) Followed by a quest line that I still haven’t completed because it’s bugged, and the Karka event in Spiral where none of the karka even rendered for me.
Large scale events like this are foolish to have if you don’t know how it’s actually going to play out in a live environment.
Canach is bugged.
The event at Morgans Spiral had completely invisible Karkas.
The opening event was laggy and had the same issue, at a lesser extent.
10/10 event.
And the quest-line is bugged too.
Fantastic.
Laggy event followed by a gold sink that you need to use to get event related items, most of which, aren’t worth buying.
Underwhelmed is an understatement.
Sorry, new content isn’t going to solve anything. The pvp in this game simply isn’t fun.
Master Charles gets it.
New content means nothing at all if the game is just as broken as it was before the content.
What makes them honestly think players want to play new content in pvp?
I’m willing to bet that this changes nothing.
I love how people are like “dodge” the thief, or your reaction time isn’t good. You do notice that by the time you actually see the thief your on the floor fighting for your life because of rendering issues
Or the fact that dodging a Thief’s attacks is pretty much moot, as their attack skills aren’t on a cool down like a Warriors Backbreaker.
But hey, who cares about Thieve’s being OP? It’s not like pvp is dead, right?
Oh wait.
Maybe people don’t want to play in Paid tournaments because the idea of paying to play awful pvp is absurd.
It’s a wonder people still play to be quite honest.
There is a way to enjoy pvp.
Roll a Thief, enjoy easy wins.
It’s really quite simple.
Thieves can:
Do massive damage, at literally no risk, since missing an attack that uses Initiative incurs literally no penalty, unlike any other class who has to rely on cool downs.
Has stealth, which anet’s awful engine can’t even handle correctly, as well as has no legitimate counter (No, swinging your weapon or spamming aoe randomly is not a legitimate counter).
It’s also the fastest class in the game, with its 25% movement speed signet, and skills like Infiltrators Arrow, which completely ignores conditions that impede movement.
It certainly doesn’t help that the game has kitten poor balancing either.
There is no future.
As of right now, less than a fifth of the pvp rooms actually have players in them. Around 50 out of 300 rooms. Players have realized it’s an absolute joke.
The range of Infiltrators Arrow isn’t effected by Cripple or Frozen. It also completely ignores Immobilization.
Warriors have no pull skills, all of our stuns are melee range, and we have no skills that provide confusion.
To put it simply, the very moment a Thief decides to run from you as a Warrior, he’s successfully disengaged you.
It actually uses 6. The quotation marks are there because the amount of time it takes to gain 6 initiative is lower than it takes for savage leap, rush, or to a lesser extent, whirl wind to complete their cooldown.
Thieves.
They can simply out run you using skills like Infiltrators Shot and the 25% movement speed passive. Even using Sword/Shield and Greatsword catching up to one is an arduous process, as the “cool down” on infiltrators shot is far far lower than Great Sword’s Rush or Swords leap.
It certainly doesn’t help that the skill completely ignores conditions such as cripple and immobilization either.
Yeah, they only have 14k HP!
It’s not like they have a signet that provides a passive 25% movement speed, the ability to cloak constantly, or a movement skill that completely ignores Cripple, Immobilize and Frozen!
Well, obviously you’re supposed to use the utility skills that reveal thieves from stealth!
The ability to queue with one character (Say, queuing with your level 80 warrior) while playing on another character.
It would be pretty awesome.
