The new episode was absolutely spot-on, easily my favourite so far. I loved the map, I loved the story, the last instance was insane. The new mastery is incredibly fun, made navigation on the new much not just easier, but enjoyable, espcially because you can shoot that thing while gliding. I kinda feeling sad about I see a lot of people don’t like labirynth-like maps like this, but I do hope you will make more like this in the future, because it’s so awesome I found something new every time I run around.

And finally, a shoulder skin for the achievement that looks neat and not farts out sparkles and start.

Thank you, Arenanet. Nice work.

Legendary Armor: Feedback [merged]

I saw the animations for the armor today and I have to say, Arenanet, your design team absolutely nailed that part, I’m 100% happy with how that looks. I’m invested now to get the light armor for my main charr ele. Nicely done.

But, there is one thing: after the design team speant SO MUCH time on these aremor, how the hell the charr’s tail still clips the medium armor? How? Is the armor team needs glasses or what? This is laughable, when you think the design team is stop being a lazy piece of something, they are still lazy. Congrats on the medium coat, I’m glad my main is wearing light, but I feel sorry for all those players who will go for the medium and have to watch their charr’s tail clips though the armor so badly.

This episode is one of my favourite and most hated LS episode so far.

First of all, the babbling and the complaining: the open world stuff in Lake Doric, where I need to run arround for Logan like an errand boy, was hideously boring, it was the worst open world story stuff in season so far. And it got especially annoying, when I needed to do the same thing twice at the Mantle Fortress – I did the heart quest first, then Logan sent me 20 minutes later to do the same kitten. It was even buggy, because the task didn’t show up in my journal, just the green star and a 0/5 next to it, without any information what should I do.
Lake Doric itself isn’t a too interesting zone, it’s like a Kessex Hills 2, just with more rain and the whole map is kittened up, not just around a lake.

Compared to that, the two story instances at the start and the end were the best things I’ve experienced so far in the LS S3. The voice acting was really good, for some reason, I especially liked Valette’s voice, it really sold me the last instance. Canach was cool, easily one of my favourite character, Aniese was a kitten, but she was always like this so it totally her character. I also adored the idea of infiltrating CM from backwards. For me. it totally managed to sell the idea that Tyria is one big world and not open world + dungeons separated. I also didn’t manage to play when the original Caeducus boss fight was in the game, so what I saw yesterday night was the last bossfight was really cool and fun.

Overall, the last story instance totally saved up everything the Lake Doric did wrong, so I’m looking forward to the next episode. Thank you for your work, Anet.

Congrats on the "matchmaking"

We’re at the 5th season and you still couldn’t make a good matchmaking system.
Every match I played had 200-300 points of difference between the teams, so we’re back to the old system, where the game puts the good players into one team then they farm the players with lower skill.
Congrats again, dev team, you making me impressed more and more with every season. I guess I’ll quit for this season too.

Stop. Just stop. They have already said time and time again WHY they cant, and its a good sound reason. Stop making topics like this every week.

Armor sets, when Anet still put forth the effort to make them, were priced the same as the outfits are.

and now that they are so many more, that makes thousands more combinations that have to work. it baffles me that you people dont seem to understand that they have to make it work and not clip with EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE COMBINATION OF 6 PIECES + WEAPONS + BACKPACK. thats millions of combinations that they have to troubleshoot and match. what part of “this isnt feasible anymore” is too hard to freaking grasp?

There’s no danger of boots clipping with a helmet, that’s just beyond silly.

Pretty much every base armor clips when you mix and match parts. Everyone knows this and accepts this nor does Anet care. You literally can not equip a 2hand weapon and a backpack at the same time without clipping aside from 1 or 2 packs and god help you if you play Charr.

This fanbase has such a case of Stockholm Syndrome that people seriously think armor design for video games is some black magic sorcery…

People think it’s black magic because it seems making a new armor set is really black magic for Arenanet at this point. They complaining about they need to make it all for the different races and genders, while they need to do almost the same with outfits – so this is exactly the same bullkitten like what we got as explonation for why the Privateer weapons are account bound – “because they’re speacial” but they’re not, Anet just wants money and we won’t buy gems if we can get what we want just playing with their game.

I won’t believe this bullkitten about matching the armor pieces is something they actually work hard, when the charr tails and asura feets are still clipping through the armor horribly.

What have the devs been working on over the past year because it can not just be this incredibly tiny patch?

I am already finished, story done, map done, achievements done.

They added no new armor, no new weapons, no rewards to work towards, nothing to keep me loged in.

What they did add was great but it was way to small. I thought MO said this patch would be roughly the size of 8-9 old Living World chapters? This felt like the size of one!

Not only was the size of the content small but the polish was bad too, compared to Season 2 and Dry Top and SIlverwastes this map, the achievements, the rewards, feels like a massive step backwards.

First, MO never said that ever. So dont know where u got that from. Also I can not take you seriously when you call Bloodstone Fen a step back . Even though its small on the map, the verticallity makes up for it, if we are counting the landmass together it is bigger than southsun and bigger half of DT. The rewards are cool where as you get gliding combat skills. I can not take what u said with a straight face.

Yeah, maybe the map is big vertically, but it doesn’t makes any change about I still managed to explore the whole map in 1 hour. The gliding skills are cool rewards, the only problem with them you cannot use them anywhere else, just on this tiny map, so they basically worth very little.
This content is a massive step back from what we get at the Silverwastes or Dry Top and Anet keep thinking this is acceptable quantity of content. After they basically did nothing for half a year, only raids, wich were developed by a small team, this won’t save PvE. If the next expansion pack won’t blow out everything they did before, the boat will sink really really quickly.

LS3 Zero replayability

I’m curious if they will release an episode every 2 weeks like the LS2.

They said it before and they just said it today in the Reddit’s AMA: they are splitting resources between LS and the nex expansion to avoid having a content drought pre-expansion launch like the one we had in the pre-HoT months. They don’t have final fixed dates of course, but they said they will release new LS chapters every 2-3 months.

So we have to wait 2 months for chapter 2?

Read the multitude of statements Anet has made regarding this. The 2-week releases were hell on the devs and not sustainable for quality content or continual output. They transitioned to a release every 2-3 months that contains higher quantity and higher quality content rather than trying to continue something that burned out the entire team.

Don’t get me wrong, but the LS2 they released 4 chapters (2 weeks each) and a new map and then waited a couple of months to release the other 4 chapters (2 weeks each).

I’m not talking about the old model of a release every 2 weeks, i though this Living Story update would be similar to the Living Story 2 (4 chapters, then wait a couple of months).

This chapter was good, but it was small, so i was expecting that the next chapter will be in 2 weeks, like the LS2.

I think most of the people expect now that Anet will release the next episode in 2 weeks and nobody think there will be another content drought for 2-3 months, when we have zero new content and nothing to do – but currently, it seems this is what exactly will happen.

I just finished the story of the first episode of LW S3 and this is what I currently see: we had a story that can be beat in an hour, a new, very small map with no new armors and no new weapons. If I say I wanna do the all achievements, then maybe this content will be good for 1 or 2 weeks…

Arenanet said the new episodes of the living world season 3 episodes will come in every 2-3 months. So this means this content with Bloodstone Fen should be enough to solve the recent content issues in PvE and it should be enough until the next LW patch, wich will come 2-3 months later and until it, the game will just vegetate just like it did in the last half year?

I really hope I just misunderstood something here, because this amount of content is maybe enough to keep anyone entertained for a 2 weeks, but not for 2-3 months. And don’t get me wrong, all the changes Anet made are great, the story and the new map is great, but is this serious that this was the all big update for the next 2-3 months, while we got the same exact amount of story with LW Season 2, just with every 2 weeks?

First off, I agree with most here that it feels like a cash grab.

I honestly do feel that this is ANet testing the waters. Result: The water is toxic. Poor move on Anet’s part I believe.

The only good reason I can see them doing this (and it is a huge stretch) is that many people also gripe about not having any exclusive items. By making them account bound there would be a lot less people with them. Again, I know that is a stretch for some type of justification.

This was my original thought too. There have been people now and then on these forums asking for more “exclusive” sets. I don’t recall if they have been asking for them to be in game rewards or straight up cash spending. But I do very much doubt being behind the BLTC gambling, no one would want that would they? O.O

“Exclusive” rewards should be earn through playing their godforsaken game, not something that anybody can buy for money. And they actually realised this, when they made the new legendaries account bound, but now here we are again… you can buy “exclusive” and “special” stuff for money, you don’t have to earn it.

Sarah’s explonation was cute about this weapon set is special, but it’s a dumb thing to believe is a good and beliveable reason. So well, congrats, Anet, the ship is still sinking.

Winning streak impossible with solo queue?

I’ve had a decent experience this season. I’d say 70% of games are competitive and fun! Which I love, I haven’t had a giant win streaks but not big loss streaks either, get a 5-6 win streak here and there then some losses and the cycle continues lol. I’m not progressing quite as fast as last season, but this is much better than s1

I experience the complete opposite. 5-6 lose streaks, then I get back 2 pips from recovering from it, then I lost everything and this is happening again and again, and I can’t get any higher.
The current season is just as bad experience for me like the first one, if not even worse. It’s nothing more, then a big RNG battle. If you get a decent team, you can roll on your face on the keyboard, you’ll win. If the RNG gods decides against you, not matter how good you know you class and your rotation, you’ll lose.

I tried to finish my collection for my tempest’s warhorn, the North Wind and I finished exploring Verdant Brink – the map is 100% and I didn’t got the reward for it, the Elementalist’s Cache. Same happened with my friend with his daredevil.

Anybody has issues like this, or we were just so unlucky to have this bug?
