I was more lost than you were because i got on Teamspeak late, so I didn’t even hear the instructions about how to get to their instance. TTS, the guild that was organizing the TT event, seems very organized. However, their method of getting everyone on the same map instance appears to be unique and they seem to not be aware of that.
2 words: Moa Genocide.
The RKSPCM (Royal Krytan Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Moas) suggests fishing instead. Most people avoid the water, so sea creatures often carry significant experience bonuses (200 -300% of base experience for the kill). The deeper the water, the better.
Not stomping a downed opponent in a duel appears to be the accepted etiquette. I say “appears to be” because it is an unwritten rule. There is no reason to expect anyone to know it. No one has ever told me the rule, but I have observed enough duels in which it was followed.
I have found that players who duel expect other players to know things the other players are unlikely to know. For example, duelists seem to think that other players can tell the difference between a duel and normal combat. We can’t, especially if the duel is taking place where normal combat would be expected. One duelist on my server got very upset when several people interfered in a duel he was having on the most direct path between the nearest WP and Stonemist while a battle was raging in the Lord’s room.
Perhaps someone needs to develop a code duelo with provisions for seconds. Two opposing players standing around doing nothing while two others hack at each other would be a sign that a duel is going on. And the downed player’s second could rez him before he gets stomped or kill the offending duelist who did the stomping.
The description for “Use placeables” is “Utilize consumable placeables created via the workshop.” The Red Lantern is not created via the workshop. However, clear writing has never been Anet’s strong suit, so you might be right.
That is the Red Lantern I am talking about. There is nothing about the item itself that tells me it is a decoration, but it is. All of my guild’s Red Lanterns are in storage. I took a few out and placed them. Then I “erased” them, which put them back in storage. But I can’t see how I’m supposed to use them as crafting material.
Yes, they are in storage. The Red Lantern is crafting material only. It is not a decoration.
I am trying to craft a Festive Red Umbrella with my scribe. I have all the materials in my personal inventory except the 3 Red Lanterns. A note in red says that my guild has 8 lanterns. Previously, the note also said I needed “Decorator” permission. I now have decorator permission, but the scribing station still acts as if I do not have the lanterns.
What do I need to get access to my guild’s 8 lanterns (2 of which I bought with my own funds)?
I’m not budging on “Will everyone please put on his or her jacket?” “Their” just isn’t right.
This isn’t a case where gender neutrality is needed. You really have multiple people, so pluralize “jacket”, and use “their”.
“Will everyone please put on their jackets?”
I agree, though. In those cases where you really don’t know the gender of the person you are talking to our about, using “their” is just wrong.
I disagree. English needed a third person singular neuter possessive pronoun. Several were tried and most discarded by the populace at large. “Their” was adopted. That’s the way languages work.

I have always assumed that GW2 is written by people for whom English is a second language. How else can you explain “account bound on acquire” instead of “account bound upon acquisition”?
I had some fun with the toy weapon skins over Wintersday, but now the popgun and slingshot sound are driving me nuts. Is there a way to just remove the skin, reverting the weapon back to its original look and sound? Or do I have to replace the current skin with the old skin? Will the weapon still display the “transmuted” label?
I don’t think anyone is intentionally playing not to win. As with the non-snowball PvP, there are players who have no idea how the game is scored.
And how is this an achievement related problem? There are 2 achievements. One requires that you win 3 games. The other requires no wins at all, just participation in 30 matches. Winning 3 games is a piece of cake because it is just as likely that the opposing team will have the casual players as it is that your team will.
I can’t comment on the rewards because I have no idea what they are. I have never looked.
I would love to experience the JP for myself before commenting, but so far I have not been able to get in to it. I either get a message saying it’s full or, after sitting for a while on the JP’s flash screen, am ejected back out to DR. And what is Anet’s solution for an already overcrowded instance? Make it a daily. Brilliant.
Yep. It counted it, but didn’t check it off. Still a bug, but an insignificant one.
Thanks.
The info under the Seasoned Toymaker meta achievement says that Toypocaplypse Survivor is one of the achievements that counts towards the required 18. However, because the Toypocalypse achievement is infinitely repeatable, it can never be fully completed. So it doesn’t count. Is that what was intended?
The instructions for “against the corruption” still say to go to the airship dock at Ft. Trinity to be airlifted to Cursed Shore. But there is no green swirly at the airship dock. The final green swirly is in Cursed Shore. Am I expected to walk there?
I have the same problem. I can log in just fine, but if I hit [PLAY] my whole system locks up.
