I never did sPvP so I never realized that the variations and limitless customization is strictly for sPvP…which seems ridiculous
maybe we can make a petition!
Can we have a class similar to a Dervish? Or maybe a Scythe Weapon skillset?

I loved the Dervish from the original GW and would love it if it would be introduced to GW2 somehow…unless the class intended to be extinct.
If that’s not the case I’d love it if at some point we’d have an expansion that unlocks professions like the Ritualist and Dervish (unless meant to be as forgotten or extinct classes)
If that is the case then why not give the Necromancer a new weapon skillset? The Necromancer shares so many weapons between other caster classes, I wouldn’t mind it if the profession had it’s own special weapon that separated it from other casters.
Yes, I understand that there is a scythe skin and there is a scythe animation when the necro uses a staff, but that’s not the same as actually using it!
We could definitely use more stat variations in gear. As someone who’s main is a necromancer, I like being durable without relying on a lot of health and still doing as much damage as possible.
My ideal choices of stats are Power, Toughness and Condition damage all in one set of armor and no other additional stats.
Sadly, no such set of stats on a piece of armor exists as part of a set. I wouldn’t mind it if it would be possible to craft gear with out desired stats, or have more stat variations in gear. That way, anyone who can craft endgame armor can craft to their heart’s content whatever stats they want.
Currently I am stuck with Carrion Exalted Armor. I won’t complain, it’s an awesome set and I worked hard to get it. However, it’s the only most relevant set I can currently use without doing mixing and matching that has the possibility of lowering the damage I am trying to max out (getting DoT effects to hurt more and more).
Should we have more crafting options like freedom to put whichever stats desired in gear, or should we have more gear options OR wouldn’t it be better to have both in the game?
What makes one prefer the power build over any other despite the difficulty? Does it mean better utilizing DS and the Lich elite skill?
Is it all really based on personal preference? Here I am all focused on building end-game gear to maximize my condition damage, and yet I have never attempted to focus on either the minion or power builds.
How different is the damage? Do power builds offer just raw burst damage in comparison to sustained damage over time that conditions offer?
Which do you prefer?
I spent sixty levels fighting all manner of evil in order to “build my legend” and then see it be completely overshadowed by a two dimensional character who doesn’t do anything special except swing a sword around.
I am level 80 and very close to finishing the personal story, which doesn’t feel personal at all. I am following a walking, talking salad’s shadow and I don’t get a say in it.
Maybe I don’t care about Zhaitan.
I’m a Norn, and I’m more concerned about Jormag destroying my homeland than a silly undead dragon. It’d be nice if I were able to actually choose which dragon I wanted to fight, and not following something that’s absurdly linear.
Linear, that’s what all this feels like. The ‘personal story’ that I’ve been trying to build doesn’t give me options except for which order I’d be joining.
Not to mention that the personality I’ve built for my character seems awfully moot. As a necromancer I handle life and death like a barbarian. I reap and sew destruction and yet I act like a goody-two-shoes in every.single.cutscene.
I want my character to matter and not be second rate.
I wanna choose my battles, and want them to matter
And I want my character to act like the character I envisioned.
This is the first game I played that involves a personal story for the characters you create, and I don’t want to feel underwhelmed when suddenly my choices are suddenly irrelevant and I follow one story line like everyone else, following the same two dimensional character.
I don’t want that.
