What type of mesmers you guys are looking for? Glam support, dps gank, or what?

I’m currently still in search for a new wvw/gvg guild. An ex guild member of mines joined you guys recently, and had nothing but positive things to say. I’d like a little more info about the guild. I’m currently on Dragonbrand in [Oops] and we only run on weekends. I’m too hardcore to be a weekend warrior. I’ve been in over 20 GvG’s, and have gone up against the best. I have nearly 100 wins on each class in tournament PvP, so I fully understand each class, and the game’s mechanics. But yea. Hey, and thanks for reading. I’m a very experienced GvG/Raider, and tactician looking for a new guild. I started playing Gw2 at launch mainly to PvP, but soon fell in love with WvW. After recognizing the vast differences in the two environments, I got word of guilds such as VoTF, Red Guard, Agg, etc that run skilled groups of 25-30 to conquer very large blobs, this quickly spiked my interest in joining in on the bag fest.

I take pride in my skill level as a gamer, not just in Gw2, but in any game. I make sure I know every class, and all of the game’s mechanics. Adding on to it, I make sure I know the current game meta’s and find ways to counter them. I’m a very detailed theory crafter, and I’ve always been trusted to make or tinker zerg busting or pvp builds. With this, I ALWAYS provide math/statistic for every build and I’m ALWAYS the first to test them out. I fully understand the functions of a zerg busting group, and GvG also. I have 2 years of experience in both. After my guild quit the game due to player/dev drama, I decided to take a break from WvW. A few moths ago I joined a small guild that wanted to zerg bust and they did well, until drama again crept up and split the guild. Here recently I switched servers to join a few friends who knew other who wanted to raid also. With my guidance, we’ve been having tons of success. So why am I looking for a new guild?

This is a part time guild, [Oops]. We raid only on the weekends. I’ve always been a hardcore zerg busters, so of course I’m not going to be happy. During the week they play another game, so I’m left on a new server to do nothing but roam and tPvP (lvl 62). I’m simply looking for a strongly structured, hardcore guild. A guild that when wiped, find out why, then fix the issues. A guild that wants nothing better but to be the best. One who’s members are smart, and understand the game’s mechanics, and counter meta’s. I just wanna kill people. I don’t PvE. I’m a competitive, smart, and adaptive gamer. If you have further questions, feel free to whisper me in game. I cannot disclose my ex guild on this forum (guild rule) due to be still being part of their gaming community. The guilds I joined after are: [TE] Twisted Effect, [Beast] Too Kitten, and [Oops] All Glass no Cannon (Beast & Abys combined).

I am a 25 year old Army vet that’s on the way back into the Army soon. I have a degree in Business Admin, and soon will go back to major in engineering. I am NA, so no EU recruiting please. History:
Cata is a PvP guild that was formed after Anet flooded tpvp with pugs. A few friends of mine got tired of being teamed with players with lower skill levels. I decided to pull us all together to make a guild of 25, which left about 17 slots open to invite other skilled players. Once all 25 positions where filled, they where open to be challenged by other people wanting to be a part of Cata. This made sure we had 5 teams ready to tPvP. No more random pugs.
I was called to deploy to Kuwait for a year. When I returned, Cata was not it’s self. We did not have a full roster, and there was a power struggle that caused bad blood among the original leaders, therefor ending Cata. I decided to put my guild aside until I was ready to reform it, and next time make it better.

Now:
After making forums, and laying out rules, and how I want my guild to operate, I’m now ready to re-open the former beast, Catalyst Uprising.

Recruitment process:
All candidates must fill out an application at (cu.shivtr.com). Once I review your application, you will then be invited, and required to duel me or team with me in a match. If I feel you are skilled enough, you will be given a slot as a member of Cata. Note: once all slots are filled, you can lose your slot via challenge.

What I’m looking for:
I need 4 officers. You must be over level 50, and understand the PvP mechanics of the game. I require everyone to have TS3, also. You will be given full access to forums, with special privileges. You will also assist me on filling and setting up challenges for the last 20 slots. You can only be challenged if I say so.

Rule:
There will be NO TROLLING. If you are offended by another gamer, simply speak with your skills. In other words, kill them. It feels much better. If you have a problem with a member of Cata, please inform me or an officer. I will handle all situations. I do not want a repeat of what happened before. You must have TS3, and a mic. Other than that, you are required to have fun.

Ok, first of, don’t go making funny rhyming songs with my name. I’ve heard them all :P

Greetings, and welcome to SBI!! In the past few months, SBI has lost rather a large number of big guilds. We’ve lost our bandwagon, fair-weather players, and our strong T2 presence. “But, Bippity hippity dippity skippty, why come to SBI when it has lost so much?” Good question, guy/girl who missed the first line in this post. For a while now have questioned even my own reason for remaining on the server. I’ve had many offers to leave, even gold promises. Why do I remain here? You simply cannot buy someone who’s loyal to their server, and their server only. Look around SBI and you will find the same mindset from majority of the gamers that still remain here.

When we lost the greedy guilds, and players, SBI had to really rally together. In this rally, we came together closer as a server. We understand our place in the rankings, and we know what it takes to rise again. SBI is probably one of the only servers that can put up a fight without a major guild leading the way. Now that the disappointment has been forgotten, we’re hungry for action. We’re more ready than ever to climb back up into higher ranking. We want FIGHTS!!!!!

With a strong server that can hold its own without a well known guild group, imagine those pieces being placed here again. Imagine (and I’m speaking to all you WvW guilds looking for a new home) if you came here. Why join another server with people who only prefer to karma train? Why join a server with the numbers, but rather PvE? Why join any other server, but SBI, a WvW community hungry for fights, and glory?

That’s why I’m still here. Unlike my peeps that left, I cannot. I’m a true SBI player. If I felt like I was the only one with the fire to bring SBI back, then I would’ve left months ago. With all that being said, SBI needs your help!! We’re looking for loyal, skilled WvW guilds. We are not offering gold. We offer a very strong, friendly, committed community. “Oh, but bippity bopptiy dippity, we hear this type of stuff all the time.” Well, my friends, again who clearly missed the first line of this post, SBI has proven it. Unlike other server who has lost all their guilds, we haven’t fallen far behind. Look at servers such as SoR. From #1 to.. idk.. way behind us. The reason why is what I’ve explained. We are too strong of a community to let our WvW presence go away.

At the end of the day, whether guilds come or not, SBI will fight on. We all want the same thing. Fights. That’s one thing SBI can promise. We will give the enemy hell without you.

Seems like Anet is bent on ruining the game anyways. I myself have no real issue on my ranger, other than some of the mechanics (sword auto attack, F2 not going off when I want it to, etc). The buffs to rangers have been so small no one has even noticed them. So yea, I see where ur coming from here. Just like other people that play other classes, the ranger is rarely looked at or considered viable for anything. That is, until you prove them wrong. It’s just a class that takes a higher skill level to operate than others. Regardless, I’ll always be one of the few that will tell you, yea, I play everything, but I main a ranger. Laugh? Ok. 1v1 and taste the virtual dirt and shame.

Magummybears can’t just take a loss and move on. Others we’ve stomped in the pass are putting in their 2 cents. In fact, the only trash talk I’ve read so far is coming from people not even in this match-up. Maybe if you dense, shortsighted kids spent more time in WvW rather than forum zergging, those match-ups probably would’ve came closer in PPT. Last I checked, PPT included camps, tower, and keeps, not forum posts. We know how good SoR is and we’re trying to learn and have fun. So far, I’ve noticed a big difference from fighting other servers. You know. The ones trash talking that aren’t in this match-up.
Secondly, SBI is not a “bandwagon” server. Look up the term. We asked the guilds to come over because of coverage issues. That, and the fact that other guilds left. That then led to us wanting to win and learn more. Get better. We didn’t attract any guild here because the bandwagon affect. That’s stating that we were good before those guilds came here. We were actually being beaten a lot, settling for 2nd and sometimes getting last place. So no. SBI is not a bandwagon server. If you feel that way, I’m sorry. Obviously you’re a moron. We recruited each and every guild that eventually came. We have a great, competitive (yet friendly) community that just wants to have fun, learn, and fight to win. That’s it. SoR/SoS, I hope you guys stay humble. I’m actually having a ton of fun and I’m learning a lot. Thank you guys.

Thank you Mag and FA. You two were our toughest match-ups thus far. You’ve opened our eyes to what’s to come. You’ve made us better by pushing us. At times SBI got discouraged, but we never quit. You showed us what we can do when we for once just roll with the punches and fight back. SBI has potential. All kitten talking aside, I think I speak for more than myself here when I say that this was the most fun match-up I’ve had since I began playing GW2 in August. I think this thread is missing some 2v1 QQ so I propose that FA and Mags form an alliance and double team SBI.

Because of the silly Glicko system SBI is making a lot of points. Given that Mags wants in gold, and I can only assume my old server mates on FA want in gold, it is in both of our interests for SBI to score as little as possible so that we can both over come SoS in points. Why gamble on next weeks draw, when we can both get some extra points now.

SBI likely has no interest in gold anyways given they all transferred to get to the top of silver, so it is really a win for everyone involved.

Granted FA gives us better fights and thus it is punishing ourselves to not fight FA, but I think of it as short term pain for long term gain. We could just continue the alliance all through the league play. Help, each other farm bags off of T1 blobs.

Guess I need to invest in bigger bag slots. After you guys wiping 4-5 times together and finally taking anything (which most likely happened because people were too busy selling stuff – guilty) I honestly hope so. We love the fighting and we’re definitely enjoying the loot. If you guys insist on noodle stroking each other this whole week, oh well. Bring on the loot. I got an ele I wanna craft to 80. I really do appreciate you guy’s support.

I think the only reason they may be throwing this match up is bc they figured they could roll all over us again, completely unaware that our server has grown and our main WvW guilds have been preparing. Using the upcoming WvW changes as a cop out is pretty lame, but hey. We honestly don’t care. At the end of the day it’s a game. Lets have fun regardless of what the score or situation is. Let the “forum warriors” keep trolling and the real gamers, game. I’ve had fun. I do wish DR and TE would have more encounters like last match up, though. You guys are always fun to fight, win or lose. But yea. Enjoy the match up, peeps and have fun. Don’t give up yet. At least finish the week strong. Cya in game.
