play ever class → choose 2 you like → stick to them
1. Real dragons with wings that ignore pathing and flies over everyone, not slow fat ugly lizards. F2: Ride on Dragon and shoot everybody in the air
2. Mammoth thats as big as a node. F2: Charge to target location and instantly crush and kill all puny thieves you pass
3. Gorillas (WHERE ARE THE GORILLAS?!)
4. Turtles – i like turtles.
No..“GLORY” boosters. Doubles the amount of “GLORY” you get, not including bonuses
What… this doesn’t solve a thing.
The reason why people aren’t playing tpvp is mainly because the ticket fee is so high. On top of that, it’s really unlikely that a player on his first tpvp session w/o prior competitive tournament experience will get past the first map.
Your solution is even more offputting. Might as well rename the “Join as Solo” into “Destroy 5 tournament tickets.”
Kg One
Thief
Are you KOREAN?
Replacing “Opening Strike” w/ Read the Wind would be awesome.
From what im seeing in paids, it’s usually
Mesmer, Guardian, Staff Ele/x/x
last 2 is usually engi or a necro
and then thief or warrior
How is it a gimmick. Any decent engineer knows of this application to Elixir R and many of them use it.
A lot of players can’t spot when an Engi uses it tho and that’s one of the main problems to why it’s so strong.
It can seem absurdly strong at times, especially when a good Engi will utilize the trait that resets their toolbelt skills when they hit 25% health or something like that
MM necro is good at bunkering up a node but there are just too many problems with it to be used on a competitive team:
1. Forced to bunker node
2. Not a very good bunker in big mid fights
3. Very bad mobility because of Minion AI + can be completely ignored when not bunkering a node
So the only position I can see them being used is to defend the team’s close node; but because of the reasons mentioned above they can’t do much to help out in mid fights like Mesmers can, not very good at handling multiple people, can’t regroup quickly
Necros are definitely viable in the top teams right now.
It’s intended..all these abilities are intended to not have a global cooldown.
Utilizing macros is definitely an exploit but then again, I think macros are just another cheap trick to enhance a beginner’s skill slightly; in fact it would hinder one’s performance to perfection
For those of you who don’t know you can Stomp with Plague form and Death Shroud by pressing them at the same time. There’s a unique timing with the Death Shroud stomp and ress that sometimes causes the stomp to not go in, but it can be perfected.
You can also use your Fear (3) during a death shroud stomp w/o canceling.
It “generally” works..I overestimated sPVP then
My tips:
1. Choose between Shadow’s Embrace (condition removal on stealth) if you have trouble w/ condition or Hidden Thief (stealth on steal) for more offense.
2. You need Infusion of Shadow (Gain 2 initiative on stealth), you need it to put out any reliable damage with CnD>Sneak Attack
3. Keep the shortbow. Death Blossom is a whole different build in itself where you need to keep high initiative recovery. Choking Gas + Cluster Bomb is way too good for this build. AOE weakness + Mobility too good + keep in mind that Cluster Bomb applies 3 stacks of bleed when you pop it at pointblank range (Carrion Amulet gives enough Power for cluster bomb to still hit hard while applying tons of bleeds)
Make it apply cripple w/ the same cast time/initiative cost. P/P is now closer to becoming viable.
You can only keep black powder on for so long from a Thief/Warrior from killing you.
It has a GCD so it’s not possible to Blind stomp with it.
Signet of Shadows can be used to Blind stomp
Most general backstab build: 25/30/0/0/15.
-Dagger Training (5%)
-Exposed Weakness (10% if target has a condition)
-First Strikes (10% damage if user has 6 initiative or more)
-Executioner (20% damage if target has 50% or less health)
Steal applies poison, Kleptomaniac and Preparedness supports First Strikes and CnD + Steal should be enough to proc Executioner.
I play Rifle Engi. I play Power Necro. Thieves are the least of which I have to worry.
You guys should try to play Thief on an actual competitive level and you’ll notice that 95% of the thieves you guys are dying to are utter complete trash leaving you to ponder how the hell do you die to these thieves regardless of what build you are.
It’s the same case w/ Guardians being “ultimate bunkers.” You won’t know how much of an easier time you’ll have w/ Guardians ’til you actually get to play one
ps. Im assuming OP is mainly talking about Thieves
What is a guardian? Its a super bulky dude, that deals little enough dmg when built for sustain, but can hold his own against anyone for several minutes if not forever.
To help achieve this they got their stability, which allows them mobility to kite and dodge nasty stuff, and revive or down other players without getting interupted.
Aegis stability (30 trait) lasts 3 secs and has a 40 sec CD.
Stand your ground is the stronger one, which lasts for about 6 seconds (5 in pvp version I do believe) and has a much shorter CD. Around 25-30 sec, if I recall it right.
He’s saying that it’s still completely ridiculous how much utility/survivability they have while playing offensive builds that can do as much sustained damage as other classes.
It’s kinda offputting to know that Guardians are w/o a doubt THE BEST bunker class in the game. Nothing else can substitute the Guardian’s role better than it can.
Sure BS Thieves have one of the most consistent Instantaneous burst, but that doesn’t make them irreplacable as a DPS/roamer position. Guardians on the other hand are IRREPLACABLE as a bunker at the current meta
Double guardian + mesmer + anything + anything
The traits aren’t the worst part about venom builds. The venom traits are actually quite good. Venomous aura share venoms to ALL allies, ie. Rock dog, Thieves Guild. Also keep in mind that Leeching Venoms apply to allies w/ venoms shared off via Venomous Aura.
The weakness in Venom Builds are the VENOM utilities.
You can get it from Paid tournament chests
Recipe = Paid tournament token + Sliver
why some glow and why some dont
**Forge Shortbow stops glowing after you attack and stays that way until you reequip it
