I leveled a Necro, Warrior, and Ranger to 80, did all the areas, but was disappointed in RvR and the dungeons. Too imba, and the RvR involved way too much lopsided slaughter followed by running through an empty field.
I uninstalled it, planning to give the game more time to mature. My question is this: is there any evolved endgame content? Is the RvR more balanced out so that it isnt just one side dominating every time? And have the PvE dungeons become more than a “just keep dying till his HP reaches zero” type thing?

honestly because the grouping and chat interface in this game kinda angers me and I’d rather not deal with it
ahem… you asked what do other MMOs after for an endgame besides raiding and tiered gear? Well, allow me to make a short list of things that they have AND GW2 lacks:
mounts
dueling
arena (more fun that rated BGs.. if you disagree I will wager that you never managed to break 1600 in WoW and are bitter about it)
large scale “WvW” that doesnt involve hitting gates for 1 hour and running down a path
well-designed dungeons (not corpse rushes)
i am sure there is more!
The dungeons are a big culprit here. The game has great class design (mostly), it would be great to work together to bring down a hard boss..
Instead, what we get it stupidly powerful insta-kill attacks that are hard to avoid due to the crazy amount of particle effects. We die alot, then end up repeatedly running back to down him slowly.
Not a challenge at all, just expensive, frustrating, and mindless. I am beginning to think I should just drop this game entirely until I hear about a very large content patch or ExPack.
:( Well, at least skyrim is still fun.
this really sours me on MMOs. i really thought this game was going to be an end-all great MMO to keep me for years to come. Alas, I hit 80 and am confronted with a wall of pure boredem.

Duels
Raids
Well designed dungeons
Id like mounts at some point, but not mandatory
Keep in mind the above is something that WoW had *at launch* I’m sorry but a touted “next gen” mmo should not lack something that crappy ole’ wow that everyone hates had 8 years ago.
i cant even do dalies on my high level guys, I have to switch to an alt to get the daily event requirement (or zone to a starting area)
you guys miss the point: that melee requires skill, and ranged doesn’t. they should make it harder for ranged (you seriously hardly even get attacked that often in dungeons, its kind of boring), or make it easier for melee.
Let me start by saying yes, I know it is very difficult to balance between melee and ranged. But this game is crazy!
I have played ranger, necro, and warrior. Granted, maybe I should have not expected to have any easy time with melee on the ranger and necro (even though Anet said we would be able to)
The warrior, however! Holy crap, they are strong ranged! Melee just isn’t worth it in hard fights or dungeons. If you step up to a boss you will get killed in short order, even using blinds, stuns, dodging, etc liberally. You find yourself stepping out melee range just to let your skills recharge. Meanwhile your ranged buddies are pew-pewing away.
Now lets observe how a ranged DPS/support does a hard battle:
Circle strafe mob, dodge out of red circles, use kiting abilities when they get close (which is not often). Ranged is so much easier its insane! In some dungeons I barely even have to move because the boss is so worried about that poor warrior and thief in my group.
Anet! Fix this! I feel like choosing melee is just plain a bad decision. That is unfortunate for “melee” classes like thief, warrior. It also makes weapons like the dagger nigh-unusable for necros and ele’s and the like.
on my ranger, i find myself switching to the axe just so i can tag every single mob I see. that way, i get XP off each of them dying, and i get a gold medal every time.
anyways, at the dying people, thats what they get for trying to melee! learn to equip ranged weapons and kite more, thats how this game is designed!
not accurate. WvW has smaller bands of people that run around taking supply posts.
Spvp you can play defense. But yeah groups are stronger than a single person. Thats why armies in real life work together instead of sending out a bunch of disorganized rambos.
