Hello.
I have encountered a bug when I tried to preview the dungeon sets at the vendors in LA. It worked fine at head-start and for the first 2-3 months. Than I didn’t look at the vendors, as a casual player I was far from lvl 80.
Now I see one set of armor at every vendor. Can’t say which one, but I will post it when I get home and have a look. The same armor set at every dungeon set vendor, 1 for light, 1 for medium and 1 for heavy. But no difference between Arah and Twilight Arbor, nor any other. I guess it’s a bug on my side, otherwise I would have found a topic on this sub-forum.
How can I fix it? Does it affect what armor I get from the vendor or the preview is the only thing that is broken?
Any help or suggestion is welcome!
Keep up the good work, I love the game!
We didn’t get to kill the last boss, and we tried for several times. Trust me, I’m an Engineer. But I don’t mind. Finally some really challenging stuff in the game that can be done with a lot of practice and learning your profession. If you really want a nerfed version for new players, than an easy version should be added into the game and let this one unchanged. I wan’t to try it several more times until I get it done.
I liked the dungeon very much. For me the cannon shower was the hardest at the last boss. We couldn’t do it (tried it several times). :‘(
I think that part is overkill. But that is just me…
Challenging content is always welcome. Enjoyed it and want more!
Can’t say anything about the loot, we never got there, but someone here said it’s nothing special… If that is the case than the rewards must be raised to match the difficulty. Maybe armor skins?
GJ ANet on this dungeon! Keep this up!
Here’s my darling. I need to get some new screenshots with all her new outfits.
Can you tell me the name of that Focus?
The solution would be to simply let the Ele and Engineer use the secondary weapon slots on the character but disable weapon swap during combat. This way you could swap with one click once you are out of combat. Not much programming needed on ANet’s side for this.
+1
Love to have a pet like that.
Being able to pay gems for a ticket, does not mean that you have to take tickets out of the RNG boxes.
My point exactly. RNG can stay in the game as it is.
Even during the Wintersday event, they had weapons in the gem store and another set for trade, using the ugly sweaters, socks, hats (which were able to be tradable through the tp. I liked this system. Gets you to actually play the event (and the game) to earn the weapon instead of always hoping to get a ticket.
You are right. It worked during the wintersday event so why not keep it?
Also this event skin problem would not be such a big problem if we also get new skins that can be obtained in-game without the time limit from dungeons or activities. But at current state if you don’t have luck with RNG boxes than you have nothing new to customize your character. And the skins should be the end-game “loot”.

The problem is that a gambling arrangement makes Anet vastly more money so there’s a very strong financial incentive to keep the boxes. Hence I’d suggest a compromise to moderate the RNG to get rid of extremes of luck.
But the gambling only works for a short while. I have seen a lot of posts about not buying any more boxes/gems because of the drop rate. And there are players who didn’t start to gamble at all… So once players stop buying because they realize it’s a waste of money, than it’s over. Personally I would buy 1500-2000 gems right here and now to get 2 of the dragon bash weapon skins. Coming from someone who spent around 300-400 gems on box related stuff since the game launched. There is unused market here for ANet, and also players would be happier if they can get a guarantied skin at every event, one way or another.
Hi all!
Imho event weapon skins should be sold in gemstore during the event. I have seen several topics about the drop rate of the weapon tickets. There are players who open up more than 1000 boxes (in this case dragon coffers) and don’t get tickets.
If someone doesn’t have the time to play so much next to work/irl friends/gf or bf/etc… than why not give the option to buy the skins for gems? I would gladly spend 1000 gem on a skin that I like, but I’m not willing to risk this much money on such a low drop rate gamble.
So my suggestions:
- Make skins available in gem store for the duration of the event. A lot of people will buy gems for that, and with this support the game. Sure, there is the “rich people will have it easy…” argument, but the way it is now some players (like me) won’t spend a single gem because of the low drop rate.
- Make an achievement for event box opening (dragon coffers in this case). Open 600 dragon coffers and get a weapon ticket. This way those who have no money to buy the skin, and have no luck to get the tickets from the boxes (coffers), but have a lot of time on their hands, they will still have a goal to work for and have a skin at the end of the event.
“Skins won’t be RARE like this…” argument:
These skins are for one event only. My guess is that next year during Dragon Bash new skins will be available. You can only get them during one specific event —> there for they are rare. So why not give a chance to everyone to get 1 or 2 skins if they are playing during the event? Every time new skins are available the whole world is full of them, you can see them everywhere, but after a month or so (or when the new skins come out) these skins start to disappear. Some go after the new ones, some go back to the old ones, some stick with the one they have at the moment. After 2-3 month it will be “RARE” again and stay that way for years to come.
So… What do you think?
EDIT:
I have given it some thought. If ANet decide to keep it like this than they should make new skins for the gemstore or make new skins obtainable from activities. My problem isn’t with RNG boxes, my problem is that there is no other option to get new skins.

I would buy the tickets for gems if it were possible. I would happily give between 800 and 1000 gems for a weapon skin… But I will never buy boxes, never did. With this drop rate it is a waste of money. So ArenaNet if you want my money make these skins available in gemstore and I will be the happiest little boy in the whole world to pay.
Offtopic: After work it isn’t fun to waste several hours with standing around next to LA fountain… Imho it would be better if we get less but bug-free content.
