I had this exact problem and I fixed it by logging in to the website, and then restarting the launcher.

The Quorum Guard in the Imperator’s Core in the Black Citadel is kindly knocking me back every time I try to get the point of interest making it literally impossible for me to reach world completion. Please make it possible to get past this guard even if there is no dialogue with the NPCs behind them, I don’t care, I just want world completion.

Public matches:-

Do:-

- “tag” as many enemies as possible with damage so that when they die you get credit for the kill.

- run away to some other random objective after taking the point.

- rush the boss in the Forest of Niflhel – as long as you get the 25 points, who gives a kitten about anyone else?

- focus the tank in teamfights

- type “/laugh” after you finish an opponent – this will help to disperse the tension of the moment and after reading your jovial emote, hilarity will ensue for both teams.

Don’t:-

- take down the trebuchet in Khylo – who cares if they have a bit of “air support”?

- res teammates – they’re obviously skrubs if they’re downed so why help them? You’ve got important spamming of your “1” skill to get on with.

- play anything but backstab thief – no other burst build in the game compares to you whatsoever, so go crazy!

- defend points – points are for LOSERS. Sitting on them makes you look like a nerd. If you’re not mindlessly following everyone else around the map, you’re doing it wrong.

- use dodge roll. It’s a pretty useless game mechanic with no real effectiveness – holding down the “s” key is far more effective at getting out of enemy AoE.

- play support. What fun is the game when your job is helping other people? News for you pal – OTHER PEOPLE are LOSERS. You are the most important person on the map, so build to reflect that.

- bother with stupid stuff like amulets, sigils, and armor enchantments. These things are totally peripheral, and only super-TRYHARDS bother with them. You aren’t a boss if you can’t dominate skrubs without trying too hard on your build.

Let me store more items in the pvp bank!

We all know how annoying it is to have an asymmetric dual wielder. Who knows how many people have looked at you in PvP with your flame sword in the main hand and forest sword in off, and thought to themselves “Goodness, what a scruffy pup”. We need more slots in the pvp bank to solve this desperate problem. At the moment only one of each item can be stored, which is really silly. If Anet raised the cap to 5 per item I think everyone would feel a lot more comfortable.

I completely agree with your post, so thanks for phrasing it so well. It would be a better design decision for the reasons you stated and also for roleplaying purposes, some people feel that the game doesn’t have enough choice for character customization as far as weapons go yet, for instance a lot of people one like one- or two-handed spears.

I mean come on, they were the quintessential melee weapon in the West for centuries, impossible to counter when in formation with shields and a kitten good all-purpose weapon, but games these days all overlook spears (Including Skyrim!) for weapons like double-edged greataxes and improbably girthy swords with edges that couldn’t cut a cardboard box.

As someone kittencently rolled a Sylvari explorer character I want to be able to hide the map, the action bar buttons, the objectives panel, and health bars. In place of the health bars I want other screen health indicators such as red border/sound cues. My reasoning for this is that lack of all these UI elements help me immerse into the game, and as an explorer I can’t mindlessly rely on my map and all the icons on it to help me navigate: I must work out my position and my destination using my memory and sense of direction.

I think this would be neat for people like me and roleplayers or whatever, and would also help people who wanted to customize their UI. Surely hiding interface elements can’t be a hard thing to implement?

I do strafe constantly but even then on the death report I see Shark Bite at 17500 damage and facepalm.

Underwater combat is totally stupid. Just wait until arenanet get their kitten together and actually fix it. The fact that you can’t even finish people underwater is a testament to this.

Alright so this map is driving me crazy. First off, I dread seeing the loading screen for this map for one simple reason. SHARKS. Who the actual hell thought this was a good idea. Putting team-oriented AI on an objective point, and having it so one, single person can defend the point indefinitely against almost any assault because of the insane shark damage, is masochistic.

Secondly, there’s the whole underwater schtick. I personally think underwater combat is a farce, feels floaty and unnatural, makes positioning difficult in three dimensions. My opinion seems to be shared among many SPvP goers, so putting the central point of one of your (very few) maps underwater means annoying the hell out of people who can’t manage your underwater combat gimmick.

Thirdly, there’s the basic design of the map and what it means to players. First off, someone captures the central point, usually the team who sent the most people there at the start. Because of the aforementioned lolSHARKS (seriously who thought of this) no one can retake the point without a decent amount of players. No one wants to go underwater to retake it however because of the bloody sharks and underwater combat. As such players just mindlessly jump back and forth between the two land maps all game until the team with the ruins wins because they control the central point and the other route through the water between sides.

Please remove or significantly change this map or give me an option not to play on it Anet because it’s really bad.
