Works on healing myself, but nobody else gets the heal tick from it.

Edit: Seems to work fine underwater.

Hmm, maybe I worded something wrong. You know how if you do part of an event then go to the other side of the map, when the event finishes you get a reward? Why should that be tied to being on the same map still, or even being online? Same thing for moving the boss chests to that format. For example, if you tagged Shatterer, then left and the event finished while you are offline: When you logged on you would get either some XP for the failure or a “Shatterer chest” quality dependent on your participation level (white, blue, yellow, orange) and the XP/Karma for success.

Failing the Scarlet invasion and still getting a lot of gold is part of the problem.

The last several updates have brought us content that was more challenging, more time consuming and less rewarding.

Challenging
More challenging doesn’t bother me, we needed some harder content. AFK bosses are awful. Liadri was okay, instant death mechanics aren’t my favorite, but my failure was my own, my success was my own. I don’t play a MMO to play alone. The difficulty ramp in the SAB was good! Tribulation mode is great for skilled players wanting to show off, while at the same time providing a “normal mode” for the rest of us to experience the content. What bothers me is directly tying my chance for success to the gear/ability levels of random people. I like helping people out. If I’m wandering around and see someone in need of help with an event or mob, I jump on the chance. GW2 has a great system of scaling events to provide increased difficulty for more people participating. Why did you disregard it for Teq? Do you seriously think that I -should- need 100 players with maxed gear all on teamspeak in order to have a chance of being rewarded? Let me check to see if I’m playing WoW… The only thing you’ve managed is providing yet more reason for players to flee low population servers and removed the team concept where people were actually willing to rez each other. (“Use the WP, you’re slowing my DPS!”)

Time Consuming
This isn’t a complaint about more content, my concern is that we have to do it in one sitting. Casual and hardcore alike, I can’t think of many people who enjoy not being able to drop what they’re doing, come back and pick up where they left off (or close). SAB world 2 needs to be divided up into more zones. You’re not stuck with 3, we appreciate your hard work but a 5 zone world would not be unwelcome. Same amount of content, more “hard saves”. Having to sit in Sparkfly for hours upon hours for fear of ending up in overflow for the next Teq appearance? Was that intended?

Less Rewarding
The only thing SAB is good for is SAB skins. That’s your only motivation for doing it more than once (that, pride and a nifty title). The invasions only managed to skew the economy in favor of the aether farmers, rewarding those who have time to play constantly. Casuals… the poor get poorer. Teq… well maybe blackgate players could tell us if it was worth all the time they spent (other than pride).

The solutions
1) Remove the boss timers. bam Teq is fixed, Taidha is fixed. Who asked for these timers in the first place? Seriously. Who said, “You know, boss timers would make these fights more fun!”.
2) Remove the requirement to be online, on the same map when the event finishes to be rewarded, then reward people for their contribution. You tagged a mob? Here’s Teq’s blue chest. You fought for 15 min? Have a green! You were there the whole time? Full reward! It will be waiting for you when you log back in next, much like the daily chests we have now. No more racing to the boss chest before it despawns.

Responses
I’m anticipating a couple common responses to my proposal, I’ll just address them now.

1) “QQ”. First, nobody likes you. I air grievances on the forum in hopes to make this game better, not as a parting shot.
2) “You don’t -have- to play that content” I know, and I don’t (Fractals? Level 26 is good enough for me). But as someone who has bought the game, and continuously supports the game through gem purchases (not just gold to gem conversions) I believe that I should be able to experience the content that I paid for. It’s like going to a restaurant and having them not bring out your drink. You paid for it, but you don’t get to taste it.
3) “Not everyone should be able to _” You’re right. And your Leet skillz make you more awsomeerer than everyone else! We need to get you a title or something so us peons can remember to swoon as you walk by. Everyone should be able to experience the content that they’ve paid for. Then add a hard mode with titles for the Leet, SAB is a good example.
4) “LTP” You’re making an assumption of my skill level based solely on my self label of a casual player. Playing less doesn’t make you a worse player, it usually means you have a full time job, a family or a life outside of GW2. Go troll elsewhere.

I don’t think Imaginos said anything about “farm now”. Having actually attempted the event, I agree with Imaginos. She needs more time, less HP or better rewards to attract more players.
