Low FPS, should it be higher?

A processor designed to run GW2 hasn’t been released yet, so even if you upgrade to the fastest intel processor you will still get bad frame rates in pvp and world events unless you do a massive OC
I would suggest playing another game until processors are released that are designed to play GW2 the way it is meant to be played

You would be very disappointed if you tried to run the game even on the lowest graphic settings.

I believe the minimum specs listed on the box is misleading but then again the minimum specs is misleading on most games it is a ploy to sell more copies of the game.

IMHO the recommended specs for a game equals the true minimum spec for a game.

I have the same problem because my ISP keeps changing my external IP address range.
I just verify my external IP address at that time is what Anet sent me

The problem with everything going to the cloud is that most internet providers have data caps that people are going to start exceeding right now if you even backup your hard drive to the cloud you are going to go over your cap.

Data Caps kill the cloud

Architecture is more important than clock speed.

The software still has to be written to take advantage of the Architecture.
Programming the game too only use 2 of the 8 cores of a processor is a waste.

After seeing the CPU specs for the PlayStation 4 and the rumored CPU specs for the Xbox 720. Anet will need to do a major rewrite of their game engine if they plan on porting it over to the next generation consoles or it will run even slower then it does on our PCs. The new consoles will be using the AMD jaguar 8 core processor that runs at only runs at 1.6 GHz. The last time I checked GW2 needs 2 cores running at 4.5Ghz+ to run good in PvP.

A lot of people I sure felt that way when they bought the game. The minimum specs on the box is misleading they should have listed the Intel i5 as the minimum processor

I believe GW2 would be doing even better if more people could actually run the game.
If you don’t have a high end processor that is super OCed the game just doesn’t run that great.

This game needs a very high end processor. It is very unfortunate that A-Net used such a horrible engine on such a good game.

I would recommend trying the program called Razer game booster it helped me a lot in this game when I had a slower Intel Quad Core CPU

GW2 uses a very bad engine, so majority of the load is on one core.
I think it is a epic failure on their part not to develop a game that fully takes advantage of multicore processors, so many wasted clock cycles with this game and bad FPS to show for it.

Game Booster seems to help some people it gives you the ability to launch the game on a game desktop which frees up clock cycles for the game

FPS Drop After Patch?

I thought the goal was to clean up the code and make the game take better advantage of Multi Core Processors, so more people can enjoy the game.

could be somebody in management decided that the game runs well enough, and it would be best to just expect players to buy top end intel cpu’s and overclock them, as they wait for cpu makers to fix the problem for them….

that or, they need to hire a team to re-write the core for muti core cpu’s from the ground up, but if they do that, it will take months…..so….no matter what they do, your just gonna have to accept that the min specs they posted really just mean you can load the game up, not that you can actually play, and that even a top end cpu/gpu wont get you a stable 60fps game wide…

I could understand people with Min specs having FPS issues. The issue is that even people with Intel Quad core processors aren’t getting the performance they should because the game can’t take full advantage of Multi-core processors.

Maybe they actually want people to spend their money on upgrading their computer to the fastest Intel processor available and over clock it to death instead of spending their money in the game store.

As long as Multi-core processors have been out. It is a epic failure on their part to have majority of the code run on one core
