For future reference, I guess you need to sell the minis in the corresponding wing… can’t sell wing 2 minis in wing 1.
Can you only trade them when you already have it unlocked? I am not a user of minis, so figured I’d just trade the one I got in for the shards and buy some armor…. I see the green dialog option about extra minis, but after selecting it I only have the option:
“Nevermind”
Is this because it is not a duplicate? If so that stinks.

I thought they just changed it so that all the things that used to drop skill scrolls just dropped shards instead? And you get one every time you fill your xp bar too – instead of a skill point.
No, you no longer get anything for the skill bar filling… it is useless until the expansion is released and they add masteries.
They nerfed the drop rate from champ boxes…. so it is much more rare but now apparently they can drop from random mobs, not just champ boxes…. although that drop rate seems to be very low as well… or my RNG is just terrible.
Actually I do see a problem. Finishing literally all the big goals and most of the game’s end game content – on multiple chars even – in 6 months is pretty quick in an MMO. I do like your suggestion of making it take longer and hereby support it.

Are you really complaining that gearing multiple chars in the optional (5%) gear and THEN adding a legendary which is purely cosmetical takes 4 months?
Well considering I was able to do 4 legendaries and about 40 ascended weapons in about 1 year prior to this patch I think the change is pretty significant.
I’ll hold my tongue on what I think about your post.
I did map completion for 11 zones in the past 3 days… a bunch of events… killed lots of stuff for hearts… got no spirit shards as drops… I did Tequatl multiple times and Shadow Behemoth. I did a fractal run on the day that the daily was 21-30 fractal… and I did edge of the mists for a couple hours to get a keep the day that was a daily. I only got the 3 shards for daily each day. Not sure what you are doing that is getting you these shards.
I started out with about 120 shards on June 24. I now have 187. I got 5 for a birthday gift on one of my characters and 3 a day (3×20) for dailies. I am aware of 2 drops of shards from champ bags… that would put me at… 187. Wow right on the dot.
Maybe it’s the type on game mode. My in game activities are pretty much PvP, Fractals, WvW, SW, World Bosses (in that order) and I have no shortage of shards.
I’ve been doing map completion (for some more legendaries), world bosses, edge of the mists, fractals and silverwastes (in that order). Only thing I don’t really do is PvP.
My base magic find is about 200%.
But you still get shards, I get them from drops fairly regularly and you get them from dailies as well. Shard supply hasn’t changed with the patch, I just get them differently.
This is completely untrue, they eliminated the biggest sources of “shards” skill/hero points and level ups. I rarely get shards as drops… either my character is bugged or people are thinking they get them as drops more than they do. I have only actually noticed 2 shards as drops in world since the patch. I’ve opened hundreds of champ bags and have only gotten 2 shards so far. Haven’t noticed any dropping from random mobs, and if they have there couldn’t be very many since I do dailies every day and have pretty close to the number of shards I’ve gotten from dailies.
Well, you’ll probably need more than a month of pure farming to get the other mats for the legendary, so what’s the issue exactly?
Also, Ascended items are account bound and not soulbound so you are kind of expected to move them around somewhat.
As I stated… I am working on ascended on all my characters as well… and at my current rate… ONLY working on a legendary would take me 4 months…. figure in the ascended stuff I am making at the same time and that brings it up to more like 6 months… assuming I am playing EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Don’t think the devs set up the game to where you could have enough materials to outfit 15 characters in ascended gear just on a whim. I think ascended/legendary should be something you work hard and long to get. And that’s just outfitting 1 character, not 15! Where would it even end? Should the player with 30-50-100 characters be able to instantly have all the spirit shards they need too?
As for spirit shards; been working on another legendary and had to buy philo stones to craft clovers. Got down to ~370 spirit shards a few days back, and already back up to 410. So I dunno, guess through doing my everyday thing I’ve been getting 10/day or so. I honestly don’t think that’s bad. Probably got a similar amount of skillpoints back when Miyani used that.
Well , I have 16 characters that I have been working on outfitting…. and prior to the changes I used to not have a problem getting spirit shards when I needed/wanted to make a legendary or an ascended item… with all these characters I could just run around Tyra doing skill challenges, most of the characters did not have map completion so there were tons available and I could easily just run and do all the skill challenges on a couple maps to get the skill points/spirit shards I needed.
The 10 per day you seem to be having is way better than what I am getting. I got 5 for a birthday present on one of my characters… and I get the 3 per day… that is about it… what are you doing that is netting you 10 per day?
Even at 10 per day though… you need 350 or more for a legendary… that is over a month…. of playing and doing dailies every single day. At 3 per day that is like 4 months! Assuming you aren’t spending them on anything else but the legendary.
I see a lot of people commenting on how many shards they already have… how many you have now is not important, it is the acquisition of new shards. It used to be easy to get shards and it no longer is since the update. Those who accumulated hundreds or thousands before the patch… there is no doubt they used to be easy to get.
If someone has accumulated hundreds of shards since the updated, please let me know how you are doing it because right now I am surviving on the 3 I get per day for doing the daily.
I’m having similar shortages of spirit shards… even having prepared for the change by taking a couple characters skill point hunting right before I am at about 150 shards right now. I have made a number of legendaries… and I want to be prepared in case they make a new one I like by having one ready to go when the expansion comes out… and still many ascended items to go…. I am faced with the fact that I only get 3 shards from dailies on a typical day. The number of shards that drop in the world is very low… I had 40 champ bags and got 1 spirit shard. There is no longer any guaranteed way to get them… I used to be able to go and grab skill points around the world on lesser played characters when I needed them…. or even leveling up used to give them… which you would do while grabbing skill points typically. Either the spirit shard costs need to be reduced or the acquisition methods for spirit shards need to be buffed.
I’ve had a couple successes with the new crit spot since the last time I posted… one of them finished with seconds remaining on the clock and another with about 2 minutes remaining.
My thoughts on the new strategies….. are that they are a horrible step backwards. Basically the crit/melee spot is all about just standing right in the middle of the dragon… more or less ignoring everything and whacking away at him. If you get downed… wait for someone to rez you or if you die run back.
I hear people talking about ranged spots, which work with piercing attacks, but I have not actually seen anyone use those yet but they sound just as strategy-less. Basically just find the spot and shoot out of stomp wave range.
The previous incarnation… you would stand to the side of Teq and jump over his stomps waves and dodge out of the finger circles. There was actual strategy… skill…. movement. Now it is just find the spot… stand in it until you die or he does. Seems like a horrible step backwards to me.
It is a big problem for me having only 150 on hand…. I have a lot of ascended stuff left to make and each ascended piece requires 20… I plan on making some more legendaries which require ~400 to make (200 for the bloodstone shard and some for each attempt at the 77 clovers… which I have very bad luck with).
I opened 40 champ bags I got from EotM and got 1 single shard. I don’t know what the drop rate is supposed to be but it seems to be very diminished from what it used to be getting Scrolls of Knowledge.
Honestly, it’ll just take some time for the general member base to adapt to the new strategies. The health buff with the disabled OP traits have been out for what, less than 3 days? If you were around for the first time Teq was revamped, it took a good month or two at least for people to understand how to take Teq down and then it became just another tick box in the world boss train. Give it some time =)
Perhaps that is true, but in any case it is a bit premature to declare it a “great spot” at this time. When that happens, then I may agree with you but at this point the spot is pretty terrible.
Teq’s in a great spot at the moment imo. It’s of sufficient difficulty that it requires some coordination and player skill, yet not overly difficult that it’s impossible without voice chat.
Your definition of “great spot” is seriously flawed. I have yet to succeed without voice chat or broken traits. So I have to disagree with your assessment of the situation.
Reversing the buff means going back to the bosses melting like butter due to high condi damage. That is not the answer. They should fix the crit problem, so that teq can be crit anywhere and that should significantly help people kill him.
I didn’t say reversing it completely… but dialing back the buff. The crit suggestion might work as well… but the buff was just too much for the current state of things.
No, absolutely no. TTS did TT last night post guardian fix just fine. And we barely did any set up at all. TT does not need a nerf in any shape or form.
The one we did this afternoon failed… good for you that yours succeeded… We were not even close to finishing. Ask other people in TTS who were there.
Just did another organized Teq and it failed again… couldn’t even see health on the bar for Teq when the timer expired so we were close but… it should not be this hard to kill these bosses… and if they are going to be this hard we need better rewards.
So you can have your opinion but mine is firmly in the “unbuff” category… (reversing the buff not nerfing).
Failed Teq with a semi-organized map yesterday and Triple Trouble today with TTS, very well organized…. These events are just not scaled properly now with the health buff… Something needed to be done but doubling the health was just too much for these events the way they are setup… you need to increase the burn phases or reduce the health.
Only way it was succeeding regularly since the health buff was because of the guardian trait which just got disabled.
Both of these “fixes” are terribly unthoughtful. Why doesn’t Arenanet do some testing before unleashing stuff on the public?

If there is a problem I personally understand the complexities of computer software and there being an issue… however it hard for me to see what the issue is exactly. They have just said they “identified the issue” … which generally means they know what went wrong… and that means they have an idea of how to fix it.
I am sure they have database snapshots to show who was on what server at the end of the tournament. They have records showing who completed the meta. It should be dead simple to send out a new set of tickets. Even if they can’t identify who already received them, just make a new token and remove the old ones. Is there some other complexity that I am missing?
Customers being left in the dark like this makes Anet look kind of incompetent even though they clearly are not for making such an incredible game, but the impression it leaves is rather disturbing. I think if the problem was a bit more clearly explained people would be more willing to give Anet time to deal with the problem.
Probably after the update and you login with the character that has the dyes. I think when you login after the update it will unlock those dyes on the account.

Still had loads of people AFK, but still did it, about 3 were fighting TEQ lol.
Just defend the turrets, you can be East, West, it doesn’t matter so long as you don’t lose a turret.
Wow thanks, I was under the impression from someone you needed to get at least to the third phase… will try it when they get the event back up and running.
I have been trying to get this achievement for a week… defeated Tequatl about 14 times in that period, a number of the times a turret went down a… but other times I didn’t see it… getting really sick of this event. I want this last achievement… but it seems impossible. Other people get it without even trying. But I am completely confused and frustrated… especially considering getting this achievement has little to do with my own skill.
