It was sad to watch. I was there to hear new information about the game I’m investing my time in and they were not acting professional. I get joking around and such, but only if you’re giving out good information clearly.

They acted like they thought the game/patch wasn’t anything special, just another day.

Why do only 3 of the professions have downed skills that AVOID all stomps? While the rest of the classes can be finished off with stability, stealth, or other means?

If you have skills while downed, they need to be balanced and not forgotten. However, they seem to be ignoring them.

To your second part. I was only pointing out that you may want to use plague stomp over SW+wurm stomp, especially if it’s the middle of a fight and you’re going to use it anyhow. I wasn’t nit-picking, your previous post was saying plague stomp would be nice if in the middle of a big group, yet it seems with this build you’re more worried about being flashy with SW and Wurm. Half the time in your video you were porting all over the place for no reason, imo.

The spot in your video where you do the stomp, could have still been interrupted. The only reason it wasn’t, is because there was another person stomping that the guardian pushed back.

First part. We are agreeing that those skills are lifelines, so using 2 of them for 1 stomp is horrible. Also, when that stomp could be used as an epidemic target and his method of stomping isn’t even a 100% stomp.

Second part. That’s why it’s a challenge to him. Also, that’s a cool story bro. However, you had a guaranteed stomp (if you didn’t die) with 1 skill, it just so happened that you needed to use 2 for the stomp.

If I were you and you had a guardian down with a glassy person near you, I would stack conditions on both/the downed guardian and epidemic him. They both die, you go help kill the other 2.

Also, your little trick doesn’t work 100% of the time. I’ve stopped thieves 100s of times from doing their shadowstep stomps. Here’s a video for you.

Now Plague stomp. Here in your own video, you could have gotten a guaranteed stomp with it, instead of just using it without a stomp. There was another spot in your video as well, but didn’t feel like searching for it.

Edit: Oh just a tip, you don’t have to keep pressing #2 or whatever you’re using in Plague. Just press it once and you’re set.

Also people don’t understand that since there is a downed state. It has to have BALANCE.

Right now the #2 and #3 skills are completely unbalanced.

If you used those skills for a stomp and you got yourself killed you just didn’t use it wisely. Why would you even do a stomp like that if it would teleport you back to hell? I only use it when I know I can get out afterwards or if I have full life force, for example (which is very easy with Soul Marks). It has its uses and can turn the tides of battle. If you dont wanna waste both utility skills, feel free to try the Dark Path stomps Also, Eles, warriors, engis, mesmers all use their “long cooldown” skills for stomps.

I’m going to have to say it’s almost always a horrible idea, unless 1v1. Those other classes can get away with it becuase, they have multiple skills to break contact with.

Ele’s use mistform to stomp, they have lightning flash to get away or RTL.

Warriors…. do I have to say anything about them getting away?

Engies use that shrink thing, they have rocket boots to get away.

Mesmers use distortion… they have blink, decoy, torch invis, mass invis, veil to get away.

The best stomp a necro could possibly do is plague. However, if you ran epidemic and just stacked conditions on the downed guy, that would most likely have a better result and only use 1 utility.

I have a challenge for you since you say it “it can turn the tide of battle” Make a video where you use that trick in an outnumbered fight to save the day and win. I see you use it in your video, but never for a stomp, and most of the time you were not getting focused.

Also, 2 times in your video you could have used plague to stomp someone, instead you just used plague on them.

Cool idea/video but a waste of 2 skill slots. Using 2 abilities that are on high CD for 1 stomp? Horrible. It’s a cool little “trick” that will get you killed when outnumbered.

Whether or not you know how to deal with downed state is a defining factor in how skilled you are at the game. It’s just another layer where skilled players can easily outplay unskilled players, and the fact that you don’t treat it as such makes me think you are a part of category two.

I will agree that rallying off PvE mobs is annoying though.

Dealing with someone you just downed, does not show how skilled you are. It’s more based off

1- how many opponents you are fighting. in a 2v5 fight (which happens often for me) if one person goes down, 2 can continue to fight you while 2 stop to instantly revive someone. It’s a joke. 1 person reviving will beat 1 person stomping. revive speed should be 1/5 of what it is.

2- what class you downed. some class downed abilities are broken compared to others. Thief/mesmer/ele can stop the first initial stomp no matter what, (unless stealth stomp for mesmer)

3- how much stability/stealth you have access to.

Sorry mate, but you obviously have zero experience on how to use shouts on a ranger. Iv’e been using them since… August/September and i can tell you, that in worst case, you have 0.5s “lag” between using the shout and the pet being back on track. You seriously need to learn how to manage your pet and how the ranger mechanics works.

I’ve played ranger since pre-launch and have tried every spec. Ranger is garbage for group fights when you have more than 2 people on your team.

The only way I will agree that a ranger is good, is for small scale roaming. I’m talking 2vX or solo. Also, you have to be condition-regen build and run with a condition necro.

Also, the ‘manage your pet part’ rofl the pet AI is garbage. The pet AI is the reason I stopped playing ranger, no matter how much you think you’re controlling your pet, it will get around to doing your f2 command when it wants.

I’m assuming you were the asura PU condition mesmser that wasn’t actually doing any damage at all? I did say to him on mumble “I need help over here. This fight isn’t going to end.” You should have just let me kill that up-level.

Also, I jumped on you twice because, you may have gotten away if you would have just cleared that one bleed on you, 60 second bleed is nasty. However, instead of running a condition clear you run decoy/blink/veil

Let me templatize that for you so you can recreate it for every match-up moving forward:

“<Enemy Server 1> and <Enemy Server 2> need more than 2:1 odds it would seem.”

Simply replace <Enemy Server 1> with one of your WvW opponents, and <Enemy Server 2> with the other opponent. Then, enjoy!

Best served with a video of uncoordinated and generally flailing/potentially new players who often don’t even seem to use food buffs.

That reminds me, I beat an 80 Guardian/Ele combo once by myself. The Ele just spent the whole time trying to run away (with a Staff), then Mist Formed off a small cliff to kill herself when downed. The Guardian was built to support, not to fight, and I could tell he knew it.

But TC needs more than 2:1 odds, it would seem, am I right or am I right? High-fives o/
