Yeah I guess you are right Forsaker, just so tired of going out and dying in situations I know I shouldn’t be dying in. They really just need to do something about power necros cause my zerk gear is dead weight atm
Necromancer has been my favorite class since I started playing, but it’s so discouraging playing in WvW. Necros should be the king of conditions yet we get outshined by so many other classes using condi builds. And our power builds don’t even make up for it cause we easily have the worst builds/weapons. We also have some of the worst mobility in the game so pretty much any other class can catch up to us if we even try to run. Then if using conditions you run into a warrior or ele who become invincible long enough for them to burst you down. I’m just hoping that the greatsword will actually be good and give us some movement, but still thinking about dropping the game till then.
Well I don’t use conditions much so I won’t comment on that. As for the power build though there are multiple gear sets viable for a powermancer in wvw. For zerging many necros use a combination of valk, knights, cavaliers, soldiers. Personally when zerging i run full zerker and do great. Zerker necros have much more survivability than almost any other zerker class especially if you use plague. If you use staff with WoS and WoC you will have insane aoe damage, tag everything, and still most likely be one of the last people standing if you have good positioning. Full zerker won’t be very effective while fighting any coordinated zerg/ gvg because you will most likely be focused pretty hard however.
I would just like to sword with a cleaver and 1 mobility skill on it.
I run a 4/4/0/0/6 full zerker build and have pretty good results. I use spectral walk, spectral wall, and flesh wurm because Im insanely squishy and pretty much every class can catch up to me. This build requires good positioning and you will die a lot before you get used to it. I always try to keep flesh wurm up so i have an extra stunbreaker/ getaway. You can also use the standard 30/10/0/0/30 but i like the traited warhorn in the second tree.
If anet doesnt give necros a blink ability then they should at least reduce the cast time of flesh wurm down to 1/2 seconds. This way we would get at least a little more mobility and be able to outrun people better. It sucks not being able to hardly ever get away from people.
For a pure bunker build tho in WvW it seems like it would be decent though. Would do close to zero damage but some support through WoD, Spectral Wall, Plague. Commanders would also benefit greatly from it
I probably will not go for it myself, but i was curious as to how many necros have full sentinel gear? It seems like necros would benefit a lot from this gear and make them great front liners in wvw. However as far as I know most necros feel like soldiers is better. Is the cost of full sentinels gear (around 240g i believe?) worth it on necromancers?
I would consider doing that, but I would like to use the same build while zerging and I would eventually like to become a commander on my necro. I just dont know if that would give me enough survivability or is ds/plague enough?
Alright thx for the replys guys. I think ill just go knights trinkets and armor and then zerk weapons.
How effective would a power build using full knight’s gear be in WvW roaming? Traits would just be the regular 30/10/0/0/30. I would like to be able to solo camps and at least have the capability to 1vX. Would full knight’s be good in a zerg too or is it better to mix with zerk/soldiers gear?
if there are to many people then an overflow map will be started so sometimes the overflow map doesnt have enough people to complete teq
Alright thanks for the replies guys I’ll probably just go more for power and use knights/cava/soldiers gear.
How about for a necro commander build? I mainly want to use necro as a commander and I’m not sure if rabid or carrion gear would give me enough survivability. Do most necro commanders use dire/ soldiers gear?
I would mainly use signet of spite just for epidemic. Does more damage than blood is power and when zerging I feel like conditions would do more for me than the might i get from blood is power, i could be wrong thought lol. I’ve never used a condition build in wvw

I’m wondering if something like this would be effective in WvW zerging. I would use carrions because it gives me the condition damage I need as well as the power I need for life blast in deathshroud. This build would be capable of staying back and utilizing conditions with staff and epidemic, but it would also be able to get in the thick of it with DS and plague. I just don’t know how effective conditions are in zergs because I’ve only ever roamed before. Would it be better to run a power build with soldiers gear instead?
Hi, i have been looking for a good necro build for a while now. I’ve tried many builds out and this one is the only one that i have had any luck with in spvp. At level 80, with full exotic knight’s armor, would this be any good?
Build here

The knights trinkets and armor will be power/ precision/ toughness in pve.
