You know I was actually quite excited for this patch until I read this thread.

Anet, to sum this thread up.

You have successfully flamed and angered the entire RP community (and I’m not even one of them) by implementing a system that as much as it fixes many of the current issues (Mostly for us real PVE/WvW and SPVP players) it however destroys and devastate another section of the community who ACTIVELY spend REAL money on things you are TRYING to now sell to us the regular players. All because you poorly implemented its system. All the while giving us the same excuse as clipping when THERE is STILL an entire RACE fraught with clipping issues and nonsensical attire that you have yet to fix after a YEAR AND A HALF because you didn’t feel like redesigning a whole sets for said race.

I wonder how tengu will turn out when you finally get around to them?

In all honesty, omit the changes for the town clothes system, at least until you can bang out all the rest of the KEY issues with the armor sets in general. This sounds like a really bad case of cutting corners and getting ahead of yourselves. And I’m sure there are still a few things you can include in from the town clothes system but you might want to give that animal some new thought. I do however appreciate the effort made and I think we all would like to see nothing more but this undertaking through, especially if you wish to continue making money on this game.

My main issue with the set is that the boots on all the pieces have random spikes protruding out of them. Especially since there aren’t any spikes anywhere else on the armor. In all honesty all I think thats what most needs to be most touched up upon. Redo the boots I say.

Other than that me and my guildies were talking about how the helms look horrendous among all the other positive things. Maybe add a blue tint over your characters face and hair for when you have it equiped? And make the face helms less static?

This is coming from somebody who BOUGHT the T3 cultural way back when and purchased the new skin and placed the new one on top of it.

Heres what I think you should do.
If your gonna take my skin away I want my T3 cult back. Because quite frankly the one I currently bought and placed on top of it was an improvement. Especially since I was going for the fire ele look. If your gonna give me a new skin thats fine but don’t swap the skins on top. Reset our chars looks to before the purchase and then give us the option if we want either gems or the new set.

As far as taking the skin off the gemstore that was a good choice but if your gonna tamper with something like cultural your better off adding a new batch(3 new tiers) of culturals to every race. That way every one is happy and no one is here to complain about lack of culturals or gemstore shenanigans on the forums.

And I’m sorry to say but I almost expect a backlash of people who will want to keep their original flamekissed skins. And by doing what your doing may never make those people happy. You might make say 75% of the pop happy but you’ll be left with a hurt 25%.

Hellfire and Radiant boots in the future?

Simply put, could you guys add hellfire and radiant boots so we have a more complete set for looks in the future. I use the hellfire gauntlets on my Charr engie and having Boots with the molten claw effect I think would look pretty cool.

Runes of Speed not giving 6-piece bonus

I had a discussion in the super adventure box thread about this to make sure it was confirmed.
The Speed Runes tooltip is updated to match Runes of the Traveler’s 25% speed bonus, however the actual passive bonus is still at 5%.

As I asked in the other thread. I am eagerly awaiting for this to get fixed.

Engineer, slow in WvW? With Speedy Kits and Rocket Boots? Are we playing the same class, mate?

Ive been trying to make a kit spec engie that isn’t reliant on boons. Also the 25% on the speed runes (which is still currently 5%) would free up the first trait line in tools for something else. It also solves the slow mo in combat if your caught in a situation that isn’t you flipping through kits. Don’t get me wrong speedy kits ooc is amazing, in combat not so much if you can keep your movement speed at 25% anyways.

Anet please fix this so I can go fast.

Just to confirm something. Hopefully with a dev. Are they still at 5% and the rune text changed?
A few guildies are claiming they are.
I’m assuming this is something that seeped through meant for a new content update since the patch notes say nothing about the rune being buffed.
I was rather excited since Ive always wanted my engineer to NOT be slow in wvw and seeing these runes get a proper buff.

If they are. Hot fix please? Please? ;w;

Yes there is a set of hats, Ones a panda anothers a leopard, another a Pink quaggon hat to match the backpack. And a few more.

I would much rather have them be skins to helms because many of us don’t RP. The fact of the matter is much of GW2 community don’t even care for town clothes. Most of us spend our time farming dungeons, pve, or wvw.

So a guildie of mine linked me some of the unnamed animal hats probably to be released on the Black lion trading post. Please I hope these aren’t just town clothes. I would and probably others even for giggles would skin out helmets with these.

Ive been playing some mesmer based on my love of guns on other classes specifically engineer. And heres my thoughts on a 1-3 MH pistol.

MH Pistol

1)A basic auto attack. 1 stack vuln with low base duration. Fire rate 1/2 sec
2)An illusionary shot that has a higher base dmg than auto attack and procs a clone nearby. The clone “slowly” spams auto attack. Clone does 1 stack of vuln with low duration. Cooldown 10 seconds.
3)An illusionary unload(with the same projectile count as the phantasms)(The entire purpose of this is to confuse the opponents to figure out which one is the real one when paired with OH 4 skill. It should still do moderate damage at the least. Cooldown 14-15 seconds.

Yes I am taking the 20% skill decrease reduction and increased range into account.
Upon these changes the max range should be the same as engineers rifled barrels trait on its pistols sitting at 1050 as not to have a replacement with greatswords 1200 in long range roles.

I’m entirely basing this off how Greatsword works with its cloning mindgame so its not horrendously unbalanced. As well as how other pistols and rifles operate on similar themes being fire rate and damage.

There you go Anet. Program it, play it and tweek its dmg and CD timers. It would probably take you guys a week to do this.

By the way MH scepter is a horrible burst dmg dealer. And needs to be redone and paired with scepter somehow for more synergy.

And with that we have what is essentially a run and gun mesmer.

Superior Sigil of Blood Bugged

I had recently bought a sigil of blood for my dual pistol build on an engie. Only to find out it doesn’t work. On further inspection the wiki says its not only bugged for most 2 handed weapon sets(as in doesn’t work at all period). But Its Internal cooldown is 5 seconds for when it DOES work and tooltip says its 2.

Is there a chance we could see this sigil fixed in the next patch? Its sad because I had spent 2.5g on the trading post just to get it and would rather see it fixed than throw it away because the devs over looked something.

So 2 quick questions I would prefer a dev to answer outright if possible.
Is the 2 second tooltip RIGHT? Or the 5 second internal the proper cooldown?

Afaik all ANet said was we may see added weapons for professions in the future, Ele GS was just used as an example.. but then again I only read the manuscript not watched the video.

And on topic I strongly believe thief is horribly designed and needs to be completely redone in the image of the Assassin from GW which uses combo’s with lead, off and dual attacks but I know that’ll never happen so.

Could you link that source a guildie told me the same thing but I find it believable yet hard to believe at the same time.

WvW Invulnerability bug

Happened to me in vale 2 hours ago, necro hugged the cliff line and went inv after that he was free to nuke me. I know this isn’t so much a bug as more rather the devs got lazy on creating the invulnerability barriers.

Please fix etc.

Especially before more people become outraged and whatnot.

Annoying Sound Bug

There has got to be a fix for this problem. I have been playing since launch but never had this happen until just recently. Last evening I ran with some guild mates to fight Jormag to see if the untargetable Ice Wall had been fixed (of course not, silly me), and about half way through the second Ice Wall fight this annoying sound started.

Whenever this happens I have to log off and reboot my pc in order to fix the problem. I did not have issues before…what is happening to cause this problem?

The official response from Anet, is “lol I dunno”
And the official reaction has been “we can’t make it happen in our 15 dude local server tests so —-- it.”

If they haven’t located the problem by now they should rewrite the sound coding from the ground up. It couldn’t hurt I assume since 90%-100% of is likely clientside.

The fact of the matter is if they do decide (and quite frankly they should) embark on that epic quest. We shouldn’t see a fix for at least 6 months imo.

Ranger Downed Skill 3

That skill has been bugged from the get go. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn’t. To compensate, they upped the health return on it. Which makes us aquaman in the water but magikarp on land.

WHAAAAAAALES.

For something so easily reproducible albeit unreliably you’d figure they’d fix the bug.

Annoying Sound Bug

I had this sound bug today for the ten billionth time. If its any help. Me and some guildies were doing path 1 of citadel of flame. Considering it went off in a much smaller battle there may be a way for anet to reproduce this bug or at the very least narrow it down quite a bit compared to the usual wvw moments. We got to the part where you have to destroy the 2 flame turrets and kill the 2 godforged flame charrs. and bam sound bug. The classes that attended this monstrosity was a Rifle engie, GS war, A Scepter/focus? necro. DD/shortbow theif, and a GS guardian. I however was the only one to be hit by it “the rifle engie”. I do however have a hunch it has something to do with necromancer sounds and gun shots(especially with the high frequency of gunshots.) Long story short but it was almost 100% reproducible for me in plinx farm zergs early in the games life, especially at the abomination spawn with the mass of people. And my weapon of choice was still rifle then.

I hope this helps narrowing the bug down otherwise I would seriously like you to consider rewriting much of the code that handles sound effects in game in the future.
Especially with the looming fix to WvW culling issues and lag. And I thought Battlefield 3’s sound bug was bad.

I would love the rifle to be revamped into a non-weakening short ranger as well. I’d like for our shots to do the same damage as the rifle for warriors (yes the base line damage is actually different go figure). and I would like for us to not be second best when it comes to damage with a greatsword that somehow outperforms every conventional 20th century weapon of war like bombs, grenades, pistols, mortars, rockets, and flamethrowers. That’s what I’d like to see. I also agree we need a better option, Rifles for me in the hand of an engineer should be ranged only, this maybe it’s a shotgun thing and maybe it’s not a shotgun thing drives me nuts too.

God As mush as I love rifle. Yes rifle doesn’t make any sense. I’M A SHOTGUN, BUT I’M NOT. But I do bad damage anyways, oh is that 100 blades/eviscerate you jump-shotted into? to bad. Rifled barrels, whats that. You figure a trait that should make us an effective long range damage dealer would do that but you know none of its skills but hipshot allows that. And even so hipshot is meh. Better yet why is a shot fired from the hip with piercing the only long range skill we have. Also why is warriors 1 skill(which description wise) is also a hipshot aimed. The technologically inept class isn’t? You figure the class that can use tools and has all these skills like scope mod and such would actually you know do damage but yet warrior the 1 trait wonder has that. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ANET!

Heavy armor will never happen. Even if it was a thought with anet before. Besides there are those of us who have spent over 100g on our gear on looks alone. Cross your fingers and hope something more statical based would happen that will fix this class.

I have a Charr rifle engie that does a little DPS in everything. As Ive said in other posts I have beefs with stuff. But non of the less. I love Hidden Pistols. Its a shame it’s graphically bugged 100% of the time.
My utility’s go as follows .
Toolkit (throw wrench)
Grenades (Barrage)
Hidden pistol (For that glorious volley that all engies should have had in the first place)
Charrzooka (its 2 skill shouldn’t be overlooked and its hilarious to use on stupid people in wvw at point blank.) Otherwise I’d use warband support as decoys and a potential 3 stacks of might)

Its kind’ve amusing I feel like the GW2 equivalent to a BF3 engineer.

Overcharge shot should be cone and not single target. Even the skill animation is a cone.

Agreed, If ele the king versatility can have not one, but two proper knockdowns, why can’t we the the lesser have 1 fully functional knockdown with a drawback, instead of it being mediocre at best.

Hipshot: i think the pierce effect should be scrapped and added to one of the rifle traits, instead how about chance for a chilling effect? No class has this so far and would make us unique.

We have a set of traits similar to what you described you know? Something along the lines of, Sitting duck, Knee Shot and exploit weakness.

I like the idea of hipshot having chill although we have net shot to do exactly that, to lock down our enemys. But as I said my stance on net shot is something along the lines of, Increase the effective use of our other skills and leave it as is or buff it in an otherwise negative situation(Travel Time). Especially since it doesn’t operate quite the same as hipshots skill nor as reliably.(Its far more easier to dodge, and easily obstructed based on terrain.)

Perhaps 1 stack of Vulnerability or bleeding? The synergy with out other traits and skills would help.

I am however fine with hipshot piercing. It adds collateral damage to rare situations, that usually alone has me like the skill more than all of the others.

I love rifle engineer and I love my Charr rifle engineer(because of the fact I am a master of guns, thank you based hidden pistols and charrzooka) But man is rifle lacking.

These are some proposed changes that could make us work in what I believe is Anets “as intended section” as a mid range fighter and I don’t think some of these Ideas should be overlooked. Now I have checked the bug section and I know much is to be desired but this is specifically rifle based changes to improve the weapons mediocre stance. Constructive criticism is welcome.

Rifled Barrels trait changes to our skills.

-Hipshot range increased by 100. From 1,200-1,300

My reasoning? I know were supposed to be mid range damage dealers but our grenade trait has a maximum range of 1.500. That doesn’t even make sense to the context of a rifle if I can throw balls farther. If otherwise at the very least increase our damage output by roughly 10% on base.

-Increase Blunderbuss and Overcharged Shots min max dmg range and min low dmg range to where it can be considered EFFECTIVE at mid range.

My reasoning? Its only worth now is at close which is risky among almost any other class in the game. Especially since we are a ranged class. Especially since it misses on hill side slopes and small rodents for no good reason. To that extent our combat zone should be more to Anets original Idea of our proper combat radius.

-Jumpshot changes
And finally the 5 skill everyone hates using so much.
If a warrior or an elementalist with a great sword can avoid taking damage throwing themselves at its enemy’s at the very least allow us to travel with jump shot without getting pegged from start to finish. Count the jump between as an evasion like the whirls. And if at all possible increase the recovery time Even an immobilized opponent can punch us in the face for 10k on landing.

Netshot I feel currently is somewhere between the right and wrong place so depending if any changes were made to the rifle for better or worse. I’d swing one way or the other.

What are your thoughts?

I think what kyon is trying to say here is that. CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING.
Both characters have NO endurance NO vigor
This is based off my experience playing as an engie.
Both glass.
1v1
Final destination etc.
whos going to lose.
ROCK PAPER SCISSOR TIME
-warrior fires HIS VOLLEY at range
Engie can
A. Eat it B. Block
Mind you all of these decisions have to made on the spot, At the moment.
Your going to block. Only an idiot would eat it. NO ONE wants to take dmg.
Killshot-dead (play mistake?) I don’t quite feel thats right.
The spike the war is doing is simply too high at range. And even a glass canon warrior can run a sword and shield or a GS and slap the engie in the face which then continues to be a humongous squishy mess.

You guys are bickering over ROCK PAPER SCISSOR SCENARIOS. In a WvW environment. (which is a clusterfk)
It really sums up to analyzing the situation. Miss reading a rifle warrior and you will get killed kitten easily especially if you didn’t even see him. (once again back to the WvW environment)

My opinions on the rifle skills themselves goes as follows.

The basis of a rifle engie is that it is “MOST” of the time doing consistent (meh) damage at range. Even with the silly range specs and vuln stacks. A engineer rifle isn’t a true rifle. IT IS A SHOTGUN. Even though Anet claims they’re made for mid range THEY ARE MADE TO GET UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL. And its 345 skills do good burst. Not 1 not 2 but 3 of them are melee range skills that do MELEE DMG. And quite frankly engie being lower on the def tree DOESN’T LIKE to go there. I think we can all agree jump shot is terrible and would have been better off with something like a volley or another blunderbuss. ITS UNSAFE. and people can still smack you in it even if they’re immobilized.

The warriors rifle is the equivilent to A BOLT ACTION RIFLE. (for the kiddies a traditional sniper rifle)
IT has a low rate of fire and high range with devastating hits.
It being on warrior does not quite make the sense it should. Its a one shot wonder on class thats made to spam 100 blades and such or offensively tank.

Now kits aside. Utilitys and and such. Just armor and stats. This just isn’t right. At all.

If Anet wants to leave these in as they are. They need to do some serious rethinking/consideration, buffs and nerfs, trait adjustment in general to get things right.

Yeah I get war rifle is 1 trick pony but the engies have less def and a much more difficult condition pool to work with. And it doesn’t help that some classes laugh them off. I can not and will not shake that something is horribly wrong with this weapon and its classes in general as much as I love it. Especially after 900 hours of raging at Blunderbuss and Overcharge missing point blank shots or keeping me stuck in an immobilized state. Things need to be fixe,d hitboxes and CD mechanics need to be adjusted and traits need to looked into deeper.

Nope. Its an area labled so because legacy of the foefire is a chunk of the mist of Ascalon. Its basically just historical maps.

The windborne dagger trait and hidden pistols bug.
Post here if youve noticed it as well.
Anyways. To my knowledge my posts have gone rather ignored when it comes to these. But in light to the kitten storm of this patch.
Can we please get a confirmation of either of these bugs getting fixed?. Hell the hidden pistol is just the guns pointing in the wrong direction.

These have been broken/wonky in the game for far to long a time.

Now you’d think I’d hate this line but it reminds me of a bunch of mostly forgotten 4chan memes.

Amusingly enough the only one that has ever bothered me was the “CITZENS” by the gate. But that got fixed rather quickly.

(I’d like to note that a few of your NPCs in southsun cove also have the same issue as blingg. Mostly event announcers.)

Although I do kinda wish I heard HOO-RAH from my female charr more. For an engie build focused on everything that is guns and nades, its rarely comes up.
Also the lack of “DIE”.

Personally if you ask me we just need a bit more diversity in what ALL races and characters say. And a bit more consistency in certain situations well.

No offense but, Ive never once had it crash in fractals. This sounds like a bad driver or memory kitten out. I have a 6850 myself by the way. I’d check your memory/cpu usage in game, otherwise somethings corrupt or hampering the game itself.

Heres my side of things.

-The first Picture is the “Hidden pistols” bug.

-The second is the “Hidden pistol” Same issue with “Pistols”

-And the third and fourth picture, I figured I’d tack on since were talking about the guns in general.
Which is my Charr won’t hold her rifle with her left hand properly when out. (It clips into the Tasset and the hand animation is always away from the rifle not holding it.) Which is in essence a similar bug to the pistols as it doesn’t effect gameplay but just looks weird. (I think this only happens to Charrs who went with a smallest size build)

I’d like to note that the clipping and awkward weapon handling has been in the game for MONTHS and searching through the forums only ONE person mentioned it.

The title says it all. The Animation is completely bugged. Essentially whats happening is the 2 Legionnaire pistols the animation uses appear pointing UPWARDS as opposed to straight(and at your target) and properly. Sometimes I also find the pistols don’t even appear sometimes when I use weapon kits.

And if I may add sometimes the backpacks for certain weapon kits don’t even appear at all. Its nothing game breaking as all the skills work but the animations themselves do not work properly at all.

I have a female charr engie if that helps. But I’m quite sure this happens on all Charrs.

So I’m gonna keep this simple. This is a bug for almost every rifle of every female charr of my build I’m quite sure. But essentially the issue is that she never holds the rifle properly while standing around with it. I’m glad to see people have found the other bugs with pistols here though.

The pictures Ive taken are of the aureate(Human rifle) And the legionnaire (Charr rifle) I can confirm it does this with almost every rifle in the game though.
