What about the skill system is off-putting? The way you get weapon skills or utility skills? The time it takes? Something else?

Also a lot of issues with getting into a game can be solved by joining a supportive guild. Plenty of guilds around are open to taking in newbies.

Basically you get a weapon and all the skills are handed to you right from the get-go and you use the skills untill the max level.

Heart of Thorns bring something new to the table but i still find the skill system to be pretty weak, love the atmosphere in this game though and thats pretty much all that drives me forward for now.

Okay so i’ve been playing guild wars few days now pretty much straight and i still find it hard to get into this game as of today, i bought this game when it was released and quit in the same month if i dont remember incorrectly for one particular reason.

Pretty much after that i thought there is a flaw with the game, maybe it’s just me that thinks this way, SO.

Do you guys think the skilling system in this game is a bit off putting?

I’m not here to hate the game i’m, here just for opinions and tips how to over come the issue or trauma.

The expansion would be the exact same price whether the core game was included or not. The price is much cheaper than other triple A releases, without even adding their Season Passes and 101 paid DLC.

I hate games that kind of require season pass to get the full experience (Over time).
The reason being is that you never know what to expect after buying a season pass and usually the new stuff will come in small chunks and it might take even a year to come, if the game was bad enough, chances are you are not getting your money back and the possible expansions (skins) are yet to come in the next few years.. What could be worse than that?

The maps look pretty sick by the look’s of YOOTOOBE and 64-bit client, wow im quite impressed.. Hopefully i have enough money for this one, i can handle one months with just bread and water.

This game never had any subscription fees, everyone has been saying that since your first post. Free to play is only for the core game, with severe restrictions.

Heart of Thorns is, as you said, an “overhaul” of the game, and gives you access to the core game, as well as the Heart of Thorns expansion content.

Oh ok, i might confuse this with another game then. I was remembering that when this game was released it had subscription fees, though it doesn’t matter at this point.

Well does my characters transfer from GW2 to GW2: Heart Of Thrones like excpected or since the core game has had a change do i need to start the game all over again?

But I was also disappointed that I didn’t get a discount for already owning the core game. It does still work out at exceptional value compared to other MMOs, something like €1.50 a month if I recall correctly.

I bought Guild Wars 2
When it came out and i recently saw that there is expansion now, so i though i would come back for this game now and see what the expansion is about.

But my question is, how is it possible to upgrade without buying the core game a second time to to get the expansion? I cannot see any box for that option.

You just buy the expansion. They just decided to give the core game for free if you are buying the expansion without having the core game to attract new player. The expansion is 50$.

50$ for expansion + free copy of the core game? That is a quite pricy for expansion because the game itself was 50$+ + fees to play it online back in the day.

I would like to see historic cars that are driveable, airplanes, nanosuits, jet packs, helichoppers, tanks, submarines and stuff like that in an mmo. :J

It wouldnt matter to me because i’m never going to make that far, i may get to level 20 by that progsession time i have grown too old and will retire, i think.

I think people quit daily basis and new people comes daily to block the holes, but the reason why they are not full have no explination, maybe they raised the capacity of the servers or there are less people playing, i don’t know really but i don’t care. The game is fantastic but i just don’t seem to have time to play the game everyday.

You’ll still be playing this game even though you are saying that you are leaving, i’ve seen this so many times.

i would buy it if i had the gold.

Remember you can go to the mists to be insta-levelled to 80 with all abilities and gear and try out different classes on the target dummies to see what you like.

Thanks for the info, but i rather not do that because i like to open things up as i progress.

I just bought the digital version of the game and i’m very excited.

I havent decided yet which class or which race i’m going to be but i’m sure i’m going to have hard time thinking about the right choices.
