Precursor skins unlock for legendary weapons?

It’s my understanding that if a skin uses multiple weapons/skins to create, than they get unlocked if you own the final version.
When the wardrobe changes came out, the precursors for the legendaries I purchased on the TP were unlocked for me, even though I never owned them. I would assume the same will happen with the HoT expansion – I’ll have access to all the precursor skin variations leading up to the final legendary.
I’m planning on ordering a nMP – the new cylinder Mac Pro sometime this month, but just not sure what processor to choose.
I actually recently bought a late 2013 iMac (top spec) earlier this year, and it runs GW2 great, and now I’m just looking to get another system for another room.
At the moment, I’m pretty much set on:
Dual FirePro D700 GPUs
1 TB SSD
16 GB RAM
But I’m just stuck on whether I want to go with the quad core 3.7 ghz or the six core 3.5 ghz for the xeon CPU?
I am not a gamer by any means – GW2 is the only game I play. It’s more for general use and photoshop/lightroom and light video editing. Cost isn’t a factor and I am not looking at PCs, so don’t suggest it; I am still keeping my iMac as well.
I read somewhere that the single core performance for both the quad and hex core ends up being the same?
I’ll probably end up spending more on gems because the value of skins from the gem store and dyes is worth more to me now, moving forward, since I can use them on all my alts!
I know some friends that have duplicate legendaries that aren’t quitting. I didn’t spend a legendary monetary amount to get double Fused dagger skins, but it would be significant to someone else, I’m sure – and I’m not quitting. <3
Well, I do believe aNet will do the right thing as well, but clearly the “right thing” is subjective.
I read the “instead” part to mean the change affects the existing soulbound legendaries – making them account bound instead of soulbound, and that it affects the existing pool of weapons, and not just the ones crafted post-patch.
There isn’t a mention of the wardrobe system at all in that blog post, so it’s reaching a little bit to think the author is referencing that update. But hey, if that reaches a conclusion and a closure for this thread, sure.
Meh. If duplicate legendary owners were to be “compensated”, I would agree with un-soulbinding their duplicate to be able to sell on the TP.
It seems as though the players who have two incinerators (or whatever) just want some way of “showing off” for lack of a better term. They’ve spent the time & effort to craft two of the same legendaries, and after the patch will have no other way to show that other than linking in chat with two different sigils.
I don’t think that legendaries should be excluded from the wardrobe, since I, too, would like to show off my multiple unique legendaries when I’m on my alt toons. Why should I only be able to have them on one toon?
I don’t think that “true” original legendaries should only have the aura and footfalls, so that players can identify what is the original weapon and what is a “copy” using the skin, since I crafted/bought the legendary to unlock the skin across my account. You’re treating it like I have a knock-off. If I have the legendary on another character, I personally have the right to the skin – it’s not like I never had it in the first place and I’m just running around with a counterfeit copy. I still have it somewhere on my account. If there’s a way to increase the footfalls when you’re equipping two true legendary status weapons, then fine, whatever.
The wardrobe system offers more convenience than just simply making legendaries account-bound. I think account-bound items are still inconvenient. I bought an unlimited salvage kit for all of my characters since I like to switch in and out a lot – whether it’s WvW or a dungeon; whatever. I wouldn’t want to keep putting weapons in the bank first, before logging in as another class – I’d rather just have the equipment ready to go when I log in.
But hey, if duplicate legendary owners want to be able to sell it off – that’s fine by me. It’ll decrease the prices for a little bit, but then they’ll jump back up again.
I have an offer on an incinerator on the TP right now because of the idea that I only need to get one to be dual wielding the skin…on my thief…and ele…and necro. <3 If it turns out otherwise, that’s fine. I have some fused daggers I can use with it. If I couldn’t afford to get one, then I wouldn’t.

I’ve used the stat switching on my legendaries multiple times. I still will. It was definitely the idea that I could have any stat spread I need for all my builds, and the fact that it will always be best in slot for the rest of the games life that sold me on it, in addition to the skin.
I never had to do any ascended weapon crafting since I have legendaries for all weapon possibilities on my main.

I want account-wide dyes! Please keep continuing to work on it! I’ve bought 8 celestials and 6 abyss dyes, and also multiples of the Flame & Frost dyes just last week for a new alt, and I still support the change. Go aNet!
Just got mine today! Thank you so much Anet – and Happy Holidays back!
Jatoro’s was the old “Traveler’s” spread, which is now “Dire” so it is in the TP and you can outright buy a full set. A little pricey, but it gets it done.
For trinkets, there is a Traveler’s Amulet and Ring, and the corresponding accessory you would want is called “Vallog’s Demise”.
Looks like the latest build is supposed to restore it! Updating now.
Yup – back to beautiful! Thanks for the quick response!

As far as I remember, my Aether used to have that burst of blue flame when unsheathed even when it was still glowing on the back of my thief. Maybe not all of them had it? I definitely know my Aether did!
Hm I’m not sure if the GS had it before. Perhaps it’s more prominent now since it doesn’t glow when sheathed.
You know what? Actually, I was wrong – the Aether did the flame burst upon weapon swap whether it was in combat or not since it was always glowing in the first place.
As for Foefire weapons, please keep the new effect when unsheathing (the burst of blue flame)! I also really appreciated how you guys fixed the chain on Foefire’s Essence so that it’s in the proper spot now and not too large.

I’ve been using this for a while in WvW now and it’s actually pretty effective in zerg v zerg gameplay and then it’s alright in small groups/solo roam.
I usually go 20/20/0/0/30 and pick up the three glamour = confusion traits in those lines. Put on Carrion Armor, with PTV trinkets and weapons and you’re extremely tanky, but stack enough power for your iBeserker to give added burst.
GS is offensive and for CC with the knockback and then Staff is great defensive and useful for in-combat mobility when you get too close.
Thumbs up to Jason King. I am relieved it possibly isn’t intentional!
If this is not a bug, I definitely petition that it should be reversed – these hidden visual patches are very disappointing lately. It severly devalues a skin that either (a) players spent time/money to gather all the crafting materials and ectos or (b) spent gold to buy off the TP.
I definitely feel like the 600 or so gold I spent to buy the crafting materials for my Aether is now gone to waste without the beautiful visuals of the weapons when they were out of combat/unsheathed.
ANet – please reverse this!
Well, that’s crazy to hear. I’m terrified to see what my Anomaly or Aether look like now.
I think the main drive for me to buy five of the Mist weapons from the TP and craft one Aether was for the particle effects showing while unsheathed. I really hope this gets reversed soon.
I’m not sure if it’s a bug – wouldn’t it be intentional for them to make such a change?
I’m not exactly sure why a specific build got stickied anyways. Sure, it’s a decent build, but to receive a sticky on an official game forum is a little overkill. When I see that, I interpret it as the developers or whoever are endorsing that build, playstyle and the player.
I don’t think any build thread deserves a sticky, no matter how “good” the community thinks it is. That guide gets linked into a ton of threads by the original poster anyways – seriously.
Man everyone has mist weapons now…
My mesmer became a female – a scantily clad one at that.
