It IS sad that the majority if not all of the Living Story series offer a backpiece as rewards which automatically makes them useless for engis. We have the hobo sack and that’s it.
The hobo sack is a great way of putting it.
Well, here we go again Anet’s graphic team shows us how much they love the engineer. Which seems to be very little. The new holo dragon wing back piece(s) are little to no use to letting the engineer show off the new wings.
Let’s face it we all use the back piece skins to show off in some way. Be it to make you laugh, or to give you the look you wanted. When it comes the the engineer we come up very short.
Part of this has to do with our kits. Yes, I understand that kits display on the back. Be it the tanks of the flamethrower or a med kit. We run around with one on our backs. I for one has a kit on my back for about 90% of the time.
I’m fine with that, but come on they are holo wings. It’s a tech look, we are the tech class, and they are only made of light. When I saw them I did a little happy dance. Thinking, “At last a cool back piece that I can still use.” but alas no such luck.
Why can’t they over lay the kits? (or for that matter under lay, like my Char backpack. Who’s tail I can see under the kit and is something that makes me laugh.)
The Engineer class has been getting the short end of the stick for some time now. Be it from pug groups for dungeons, or FOTM not wanting an Engineer in the group, (their loss not mine.) to weapon skins. (let’s not get in to the whole Legionary weapon thing) Anet’s graphic team has little to no love for the Engineer.
I guess I am just going to have to wait till the Legionary Flamethrower comes out. Which should come out right after the mounts and flying carpets are added to the game.
I thank you for your time in reading this. I will step down from my soapbox now.
I am having the same issue.
And they will add in more living content but it will be a different story.
This sounds good, but can hope that is is not a slow and draw out like this story was.
I enjoyed the story, and got a real kick out of it. “The whole thing with Rex and how she got her new pet Frostbite cracked me up.” My main complaint is that the other parts of this story were spaced out close to 30 days apart. Now that we have gotten to the end of the story we only get this part for 13 days.
Kittens!! That’s like reading a 800 page Murder Mystery only to find out the butler did it.
Does anyone have a clue to why we were given given a taste of this content for months and months only to get this event till May 12th? 0,o
I for one love it, and I am a bit happy you can run it and get the chest more then once a day. (Why only 13 days?)
Then there is this info that is listed info page.

The Flame and Frost epilogue will be active from Sunday, May 12 at 12:00pm Pacific until Thursday May 16 at 12:00am Pacific. The epilogue will mostly consist of conversations and story elements; there are no exclusive rewards to be given at this time.
This makes me fell like screaming like Capt Kirk, “ArenaNet!!!!”

Speaking as a California transplant, I have two counter arguments:
1) It is called soda, not pop.
2) Bag and beg do not sound the same.
Nice try, though.
Actually it’s called Coke. Every regular soda is called coke in Georgia for obvious reasons
No, not just Georgia, it is that way in almost all of the south.
Lag is really bad since today (Drakkar Lake EU).
/e: won’t be able to complete my monthly because it’s unplayable, no way to complete a dungeon. Which sucks.
Are you having super lag in a Dungeon?
—Seeing how Dungeons are a closed event, not a world event where there could be 100+ people there. which is what this topic is about.
This might be happening because of your system not because of a game update. If you are running the game on high settings and don’t have the hardware to really support it. How is that Anet’s fault? If you have poor bandwidth and your playing over wireless. How is that Anet’s fault?
its a game if you don’t think some things are stacked against you in all games you are delusional.
This goes without saying, all games are in one way or another stacked against you.
What I am pointing out, is that this goes against everything they claim about balance in the game. Like the old saying, “Do as I say, not as I do.”
The usual reasons:
1) Knocking a crucial mob out of position and being unable to finish him off.
2) Knocking a boss off a ledge and not being able to loot.
3) AI is not programmed to avoid cliffs so it is open to abuse.
OK, I can understand some of these, but is it not abuse to have us spend 5 or 10 minutes finding our way up to Vista or JP only to get knock off to our death. I call that abuse of power by the developers.
Why can a mob do an attack that can Knockback / Push me off a cliff or platform that causes me to fall to my death. When I can not?
I want a level playing field.
I am not saying that I want that attack removed. I think it can add a bit danger to a fight. As you make your way up a JP or trying to get to a Vista.
Plus think about it, this could add in a whole new mini game. (Dredge tossing or Skritt golf)
