Hello fellow elementalists.I am creating these days a new ascended set for WvW and i need some advice on what type of gear i should get. I will be roaming solo or with other guildies so i need something that works well in any situation.I will probably be using D/F with water/earth/tempest or water/air/tempest. I dont want to be a glass cannon nor an undying no dmg character. Thanks in advance
Let me start off by saying that i love power shatter mesmer a lot and i love roaming as one in wvw and engage in duels however all of our good traits are spread out in many different traitlines.
In order to play a power shatter mesmer build i need to generate as many clones as possible. The steadier clone production comes from deceptive evasion especially if you use sigil of energy.However i have to invest in a totally useless traitline to get that 1 trait.Considering how fast illusions are dying before getting the chance to shatter them, giving up on that horrible trait line is not an option. Blind on shatter (blinding dissipation) is an exception for this traitline but i dont feel its mandatory in any way.
Examples on shatter traits being spread out making it totally impossible to create a good power shatter build:
1) Master of misdirection (15% Recharge reduction on shatter skills) Illusions traitline
2) Restorative illusions (Heal and remove conditions on shatter) Inspiration traitline
3) Domination traitline is what boosts our damage output. Mental Anguish and power block which are on the same tier are both very strong but i mostly prefer Power block to diversify my damage output. You cant go wrong here with w/e you choose. Shattered concentration (boon removal on shatter), Confounding suggestions (Stun on daze every 5 seconds-Synergies with our F3 shatter) are very strong traits as well.
4) Chronomancer traitline is all about clone generation and alacrity on shatters
5) Deceptive evasion on dueling traitline. You cant play power shatter mesmer without it imo for the reasons i’ve already explained.
Of course i am not suggesting to move all these traits in 1-2 traitlines as that would be extreme. Having to choose though dueling traitline only for a mandatory shattered trait is beyond ridiculous. My suggestion will be the following. Since its an illusion summoning skill move it somewhere on illusion traitline. Merge it with Shattered Strength maybe?
Hello everyone i have some questions regarding fractals.I run dailies on my ele up to t3 in full zerk gear (fire/air/tempest) and i really got survivability issues in there (mostly t3).My agony is more than enough to run them but mobs seem to hit really hard that’s common sometimes to get 1-2shotted.I’d really like to try t4 as well but worst possible scenarios come to mind.Is zerk gear mandatory in fractals?If not then up to which level?Also which class would you recommend as the most survivable and also needed in high level fractals?Thanks in advance.
Which one do you guys think is superior in fights?Tbh i prefer the hammer for the immobilize, aoe knock down and blast finisher but i dont use it cause it lacks a mandatory ability (imo) which is the gapcloser in order to follow up with the commander and the rest of your party onto the enemy zerg.Please share your opinions on that
I will try to be brief.Thieves even though they dont have a large presence in wvw zergs (apart from guilds with harass squads) they seem to have literally everything in their kit in order to outclass any other class in small roaming groups and especially in solo play.Great survivability(stealth,constant condition removal), undoubtedly great burst damage and huge mobility.How is this class supposed to be balanced when they have everything at their disposal and all at once?No troll repsonses.I am just stating the obvious.
That sucks Anet.Please fix this gamebreaking bug and reset scores ASAP
Let me start off by saying that WvW is the only thing that keeps me playing.I also believe that WvW (and maybe competitive PvP) is the only real challenge the game has to offer.The rest is an endless farm fest which requires little to no skill and the ability to spam F in order to loot chests that grow on the ground (looking at you Living Story).
WvW seems like dying more and more everyday.2 years now we live the same routine without any actual changes that people have been begging for since release (eg GvG).If Anet doesnt make a step in the right direction WvW maps will no longer be as we used to know them.Good or bad here are my suggestions
1) WvW is in no way profitable.The rewards (from both capturing and killing other people ) are poor while it is also a gold drainer (upgrades,siege,commander tag).If someone wants to farm gold/materials for whatever reason he will definitely not stay in WvW.Please add extra loot bags specifically for player kills.
2)Population cap.In my opinion it should be decreased a little(10-20).No more blob victories no more mindless #1 spam and karma trains.With this change there will be more queues for highly populated servers at first but then all those people sick of waiting in queues will be distributed to less populated servers.If anything server balance is a huge issue negatively affecting WvW.
3)Something really unlikely to happen but i will suggest it anyway.Mixed matches for EU and NA.And i will explain what i mean.Anet doesnt allow server names to be used on this part of forum so we’ll go like that.Lets assume 3 Bronze NA servers are called NA1,NA2,NA3 and 3 Silver EU servers are called EU1,EU2,EU3.In this case NA1 server teams up with EU1 under the green colour and fights against NA2-EU2 and NA3-EU3
These changes may look good on paper but i am sure they will have their flaws.I encourage everyone to post their ideas on how to fix WvW or criticize mine.If anything it is our obligation to let Anet know that we wont give up so easily.

Hello SFR community.Within the next few days i am most probably going to transfer to SFR.My only pleasure in this game is wvw and most importantly within an organized guild group.All i need from you people is to suggest me a few above average wvw or even gvg only guilds.
What i am looking for is:
1)4-7 raids/week (International guilds)
2)Non EB runs(or just a few)
3)20-30 man raid
4)Mature atmosphere
And a few words about me now.I am mostly playing power necro.In fact i am totally dedicated to this class and i can say i have mastered the playstyle.I am also playing guardian sometimes without much success and lately i am trying to relearn my ele.
My necro build (fully ascended except from axe+dagger)
Any info on SFR wvw guilds will be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance!
To be honest i dont get all this fuss about conditions.Yes they are op in 1v1 or even SMALL scale wvw (i cant say about pvp since i dont play that mode) but the larger the group is, the more useless conditions become.If anet decides to nerf conditions because someone got wrecked by an opponent somewhere then go for it and nerf them to the ground.But dont forget to also take down some certain classes (op in 1v1) with the overpowered trinity.High damage,high mobility and high survivability.
That would be King Toad skins to be obtainable again.Anet?
Or give us a way to counter it(looking at you thieves)
The reason is that they have everything.Huge damage,huge mobility and huge survivability.A deadly combination that no profession should have if you want to call your game “balanced”.Screenshot is below

6,038 damage with only 1skill while using my knight gear on my elementalist.I’ve also been hit for 9,000+ before.Seems fair
