I thought I’d throw one more tip in here, people seem to surprisingly not know this one often. You can use your bank to not only share crafting materials and other items, you can share the in-game gold via your bank, too. All you have to do is use the “Withdraw” and “Deposit” buttons at the bottom of your bank window. This can be done from both bank and any crafting station.
That wouldn’t be a problem, nobody says the trial won’t be time-limited rather than level-limited In fact, that’s how it was with the Guild Wars 1 trial, it was also limited by time, I believe both in-game time and real time, whichever limit was hit first.
And it means the same thing in Guild Wars 2, too! I assume the game can recognize some third-party VoIP systems and lower the in-game sound levels while someone is talking. I don’t know if it works with TeamSpeak or Ventrilo but it definitely works just fine with Mumble.
I have no doubts there will be trial available in the future, but there isn’t such offer at the moment, I’m afraid.
It is possible, but you’re right that it’s much easier on higher levels. On level 80, you need to get 254000 XP to get to the “next level” (altho you only get another skill point, you won’t be level 81, of course), so for max level character it’s only a case of not dying for about 40% of the level.
I would worry not, however! You have the whole of September to get to higher level and to get the achievement easily, and while you’re right that it’s painful (or requires lot of luck and skill) to get it as lower level character, I guess it won’t be a problem with time.
One thing to bear in mind, I’m not sure if the achievement is fixed yet, but previously it did reset not only when you died, but also when you logged off. Or left map for another map. Or used a waypoint. Oopsie!
While there isn’t any in-game latency indicator, you can find out your current ping to the game servers by using the tools integrated in your Windows OS, provided you’re running Windows 7. When in-game, hit Ctrl-Shift-Escape to bring up the Task Manager, then go to the Performance tab and hit the Resource Monitor button at the bottom. In the newly opened window, go to the Network tab, tick the checkbox next to the Gw2.exe process and in the TCP Connections subview, you should see list of all connections opened by Guild Wars 2. The last column of that view is called “Latency”, and you’re interested in the connection that was opened on port 6112.
Hope that helps!

I wouldn’t be so hasty to throw this into the same category as bots. What Folji is doing, as far as I understand it, is only re-routing some keybindings from mouse to keyboard, while retaining the golden rule of “one button pressed = one action done”, it doesn’t automate anything. I’d wait for official word on this, but I can’t see any issues with this personally. Forbidding this would be like forbidding different keyboard layouts, after all.

crazyguy, they are! Maybe… not on the correct place, however. They mention on the Support Account Creation page that “your Support account will be for Support Site only”, although I do admit that this probably isn’t the first place you’d look for such information and it should be mentioned on the login page, too.

HellsChicken, I also had the same issue until I realized that you don’t log in to the Support Site with your in-game login name and password, but rather a separate account you create just for the Support Site. Have you tried different usernames you could’ve picked when creating your Support Account? If that doesn’t work, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt anyone if you created a new Support Account, I assume that’s not against any rule but please, correct me if I’m wrong.
Good evening,
it would appear that some of the combat noises (e.g. the sound your character does when attacking someone, altho I believe there is one strange sound that gets played when you are attacked by someone, too; haven’t captured that one on video yet, however) are very strange for human female characters that use two-handed weapons (I tried staves and greatswords and the issue seems to happen with both weapon types, so I assume it happens with all two-handed weapons).
I can’t imagine how would I possibly describe the sound that’s been bugging me for days now, so I’ll kindly borrow a very fitting description from fellow guardian over at Reddit, he said: “Sounds like a midget on hellium that is trying to reach a pinata with the stick. So out of place, not fierce at all but just… weird.”
I captured the sound on a video for easier debugging, and you can find it over at my YouTube channel. I’m sure the sound speaks for itself (no pun intended), but just in case, it’s the second sound my character does. It definitely shouldn’t be there, maybe it’s a sound file for asura tho?
Thanks a lot for reading this and, hopefully, fixing it in the future! I can imagine it’s not the most important and game-breaking bug of all times, but one that I’d definitely want to see fixed eventually nevertheless.
Oh no, so my character’s Personal Story will forever be bugged? That’s… sad
I guess I’ll just… restart my character eventually then. Thanks for the answer tho!
Edit: just to clarify, I only mean the Personal Story that appears in Hero window. That matters the most for me.

Good evening,
it would appear that my Personal Story journal in the Hero window remains bugged even after the actual Battle of Fort Trinity quest was fixed (or so I assume from reading the State of the Game on Official Guild Wars 2 Wiki). In particular, it keeps mentioning quest called “Liberating Apatia” in which my character killed some Norn called Apatia that I never met before in my Personal Story. I can imagine it would be very difficult to allow me to re-do the Personal Story and complete a bug-free version of aforementioned quest, but I would think it would be very reasonable to at least have the Personal Story journal fixed, so I can read about what my character supposedly did. It would definitely make happy all the lore freaks out there, myself included!
