My bit of Feed back, I did a my testing with Condi on the Rev, I switched back and forward some on my necro to compare. I think my biggest gripe is I felt like I was required to use the Mallyx Elite to be even viable. My necromancer I felt was able to dish out and drop heaps of Mobs with ease with using only his Weapon abilities, Even my Ele when running Condi/Earth felt like he was doing more. But on the PvE side of things Rev’s Condi feels really weak. The Torment doesn’t last long enough to stack high enough to hurt at a good rate (monsters don’t constantly kite like PvPers do(should) so you don’t get the benefit of bonus damage while moving) The #2 on mace the timer for the fire stacks is so small it doesn’t seem like it’s doing much being I believe 7-9 stacks of Fire = Fire before it became stack-able may have been viable before stacking time, but now it feels worthless. This was while my Rev was wearing items that boosted Condi while my Necro is actually in Berserk gear. the condi the rev runs needs some tweaking so he can be viable against a group of basic minions with out being forced to pop the Elite. I also feel like (currently) there’s not many options in the trait lines to cater to a pure Condi build. Excited to see the updated version and try out the Damage focused build though

I think she would have been a more “Likeable” character, regardless of her morality if she were more related to the over all story arch that GW2 was suppose to be build on, which is the dragons. initially when she was introduced she was just another random evil character thrown in the middle of a story, who has (seemingly) no connection with the over all main story. (the dragons)

If she does have some connection to the dragons then they needed to be more up front about it, in the first place instead of building these elaborate schemes she was pulling. people were ready for advancement in the story, the next dragon, or dragon elite servant. it’s like you turned your TV on expecting game of thrones and got the Simpsons. the biggest outrage of the LS was the direction it went (well that and lack of content, focus on BLTC items as opposed to real content but that’s a different topic), which is away from the main story your character had been following, maybe Scarlet (regardless how how 2d of a character most people see her as) would have been a more accepted foe if it were after the whole Dragon saga came to a close or If after he initial introduction you found out she has relations to xxxx dragons coming. I think the only “acceptable” departure from the dragons being the main foe in most GW2 players eyes would be a detour to Elona for PWJ or to Cantha to sort out the exile of the races, and even then the ending arch would need to lead back to the main cause, which is facing these fierce dragons.

trying to keep this post as constructive as possible. I’ve played and enjoyed gw2 sense launch in spite of it’s obvious departure from the first in several ways. in terms of this patch I’ll go in.

World bosses: Twisted marionette/Triple trouble
I’ll be honest I’ve only had the chance to try out the Twisted Marionette so far, and in spite of losing both times, I enjoyed it a lot. the whole tower defense thing was fun, but the thing is, the 2 hour wait time in between was horrid. I honestly felt like I NEEDED to stay in lonars pass just to make sure I wouldn’t be booted into Over flow when the Marionette spawn timer went off. and the only real entertaining thing to do there was trying to collect cores which was limited as well, so this experience turned out to be a lot of waiting around. it was just as bad as the whole “LFH the GG” scenario except even when we were ready we were still forced to wait. It’s not that the world bosses were bad, just waiting around for them sucked. the events that were related to the Marionette didn’t feel rewarding (I should at least be getting Cyphers or core pieces to further the story) and didn’t spawn often enough.

I feel like when you launch big bosses like this, you need some thing to do on the side while you wait. a lot of people on map chat seemed lost wondering what to do when the patch went life. and comments like “We need more people to look at this wall! MOAR PEOPLE!” were popping up. personally I was laughing at map chat, but seriously, having people look at a wall while we wait for a boss to spawn? is that what you want from you game? the time gated content is fine but as I said, we need some thing to do while waiting, and I would prefer it to be in the form of events in the area and in abundance! yes there are a lot of events in each map, but people aren’t worried about them, they want to experience new content, so new events spawning all over the map, sort of like what was going on with the machines gathering, but in more abundance have people running around while they wait then the timer pops and every one get in to position!

the rewards are pretty much the same as all the rewards in the rest of the game. the mini’s are cool but personally I don’t see a use in them. WoW has their little pokemon game, why not use Polymock with Minis? this way they have more of a purpose in the game?

I understand Anet is trying to rework the system, in terms of making berserkers not the the be all end all gear. but as it stands the reality of the situation is, there are a lot of useless stats in gw2. Healing power is one of those useless stats. the scaling is horrid. so needless to say adding another stat combination with Healing power tacked on, you might as well have added in more grey items instead. I would love to be able to use my Guardian and be able to stand back and Heal people and use spells to gate areas, but as it stands healing isn’t a viable option, and the stat isn’t either. before you push out more stats you need to make them worth while. armor and life is great if you want to live but there’s no “tank” you can’t hold ‘agro’ and keep other people built to DPS alive. healing as I said before scales bad. the system needs revamped before you start shoveling out more stat combinations.

as far as the black lion items go in this patch, I personally don’t see any thing I’d buy this time around. I do buy things from time to time, I love supporting this game and watching it grow, but personally I’m not a gambling type, I’ve not bothered with a black lion chest sense the first Halloween event. I can’t argue the direction you’re going with the BLTC personally the things ~I~ would buy. I plan on buying that firey gladiator’s armor. I would have no problem spending money on more vanity armor/weapons modeled after Elements, animals, Zodiacs Chinese and western. also taking these sorts of armors and incorporating guild emblems on them. also different back pieces, capes, wings, ect. these are things I would drop my $ for. hopefully Anet adds this to the pile of feed back they all ready have and can turn some things around.

ok so I took a break from the game for a bit, after leveling each class to lvl 80 I needed to step back and do other things.

any ways I noticed they re-did the structure of FotM. and my question is:

Is Berserker set still basically “required” for higher level fractals? to my understanding before the update doing defensive was pointless in fractals because in higher levels you die in 1-2 hits any ways. Can I go in set up as a more tanky build and still be useful? I’m not looking to be “optimal” here but if I have the option of Dealing a lot of damage or being able to take a lot of hits, I’d go with the second option.

bugged on Fort Aspenwood too. the guy walks around in circles. I heard them talk and fire the cannon one time. but still no access to the vista.

on a side note, I detest this vista, I have no problems doing jump puzzles, but I think it’s dumb there is a mandatory wait time of any sort on some thing required for map completion. idk how long the wait is. but it sucks having to completely stop what you’re doing just to wait for the cannon to be available.

the story becomes pretty strait forward at this point. yes there are a lot of choices between doing this mission or that mission. but the outcome all leads to the same place with nothing changed regardless of the decision. off the top of my head, I remember a mission shortly after the pact was formed involving a certain Norn.
Spoiler:She get's captured by Krait while you're hunting for the orb, you have a choice to ambush them while they are transferring the orb or you can take the fight to them, in both cases the Norn girl is captured, in both cases you end up in a risen krait infested area fighting your way to the top of their wood island ship wreck thing just to find your norn friend dead and corrupted like the Krait. You "put her out of her misery" then go back to her home town to tell her tale.

things like this keep up until you are at the final mission in Orr no matter what race you picked in the beginning or what you picked for the starting questions, no matter what choices you made in the story, you end up here, I honestly didn’t feel much build up either seeing as my hero’s spot light was stolen by some passive Sylvari. But in the end none of my story was referenced or even mattered. I’m watching the same events and taking part in the same story and watching the same ending as every one else, and unless your party is close guildies who ran your story with you and your ran theirs there is no way of knowing any one’s story, in the final mission I might as well have been some random warrior who got off a ship at the right time for the big fight. that entire Epic journey added up to nothing. regardless of what story branch I picked. the people who were going to die in the story died. I can think of 2 points where your choices became relevant for a short time. 1 is when you picked a race to recruit 2 when returning to claw island you have to recruit some one/group to join the pact and help take the island. I think that sums it up.

I think it’s to late to “fix” this problem. in terms of what’s all ready made, but in the future from a story perspective I’d like to see choices matter. if I do the human story line about my lost sister, after finding my sister. I would like to see an option to recruit her into the pact, or some thing that has to do with her down the road. I think we need less choices and make those choices have more impact on the game. I think that’s what would make the story more replayable to the public. because I want to go back and see what this choice would do. or even give multiple endings based on your decisions. I want them to mean some thing. I want to see my impact on my personal world. and the ability to enter areas that represent my personal world and interact with them.

Ok, So I’ve been playing the game sense the head start I got extra character slots, so I could experience every class with out being tied to a decision I’ve gone through at least 1 of each race’s stories. and went through each story line of the orders. to be honest I really do not see my self making another character to see the other parts of the story. It’s not that they are boring, my biggest issue is the choices are an illusion. the story line it self if you drew it out on paper would look like a tournament bracket. a LOT of potential start points but it all branches up to the same thing in the end. In main story plot points, regardless of race/Order they end up telling the same story, with the same ending. at this point I feel you should have stuck with what you did in guild wars 1. one strait story. few choices, but when you made a choice you were stuck with it and it meant some thing.

in Guild Wars: Factions, you choose between the Kurz and the Lux. and for the next few missions you’re playing in Kurz/Lux areas, of course it ends in the same place, but it makes it worth going back to check out the other side of the story because any thing that happened on the Kurz side, was completely different on the lux side.

in Guild Wars: Nightfall, at various plot points you are forced to choose a path, generally the out come of that choice is you’re stuck with a certain hero set until you beat the game. and it was always interesting to go back and check out the other side of the story.

in Guild Wars 2, the choices are many. but they nothing seems real permanent about them. which is a big issue for a game that advertises a game with a epic story with a lot of choices that have an affect on the world. the way I fee the story runs for gw2 (correct me if I’m wrong)

Act 1 You solve an issue related to your start game questions.

Act 2 You solve another issue related to you start game choices.
-No choices made in Act 1 had any sort of affect on your Act 2 Story

Act 3 You are deciding what order you want to join, regardless of what missions you choose to do, the only mission that matters is the final mission when you choose what order to join, none of your choices will be referenced later on, you can avoid doing any mission from any order and still join that order as long as it’s the last mission choice.

Act 4 you are in training with your mentor from the order you joined, until you go to claw island. no matter what choices you’ve made before this mission, there is going to be one out come spoiler:mentor all ways dies to save you

Act 5 you began forming “the pact” and prepare for your return to claw island, once again none of your previous story mentioned, really doesn’t matter either.

You can still get the title. It requires 12 completed achieves, and there are 14 achieves to complete

16* the monthly achievements count too. (the ones that have to do with the holiday event that is.)

Besides, again, the point of the OP was feedback to Anet about how they could make more revenue and create good will instead of bad will.

Ohhh ok. So you people are whining that you want things for cheaper. I could have sworn this was a thread about not being able to use RMT to buy in game things. Oh wait, it is.

Sorry, no. Here: I’ll put it in the simplest terms possible for you:

Anet would have gotten $50 out of me if they’d charged a straight, reasonable price of $10 per skin.

Anet will not see a single cent from me. Especially not to buy gems to convert to gold to pay jacked up AH prices. Because ultimately, the price this way is too high.

So: they could have gotten $50 from me easily. Instead they get $0 from me. I am not alone. Do the math. Are there more people like me who will pay nothing at all if they can’t pay a reasonable price? Or are there enough people who will pay a more exorbitant price SUCH THAT they make up for all the people like me?

My bet is is that the people who will buy enough gems to pay 50+ gold on the AH for items, plus the people who will spend lots of cash for keys for the slot machine, do not in sum total outweigh the people like me.

It’s that simple.

ok that’s you, if you have been looking through the threads over the past few days, there are several people who say they have spent well over 50 on keys, maybe they won’t see a cent from you, but there are a lot of other people who will spend what you would have spent, and more on the keys. if they put it out as a item you can buy, all of the people who spent 100+ would have spent maybe 10, because a lot of them only wanted 1 skin. and chances are, any one who got a costume spent the remainder of the extra gems on keys and possibly bought more just to see if that could get that greatchainsaw skin, for vanity or to try and sell on ah for stupid high prices.

tl;dr: people gambling more than make up for what you and some others won’t spend on keys.

I’m not super big on the minis, but I have all the ones in the “special” category. I’m Hoping when they open the poly mock arena that’s by Rata sum, that they allow you to use mini pets, instead of collecting poly mock pieces like in gw1. I figure it’s not to far of a stretch seeing how they made “vanity costumes” quite fun with costume brawl.

i disagree. you’d have a less people complaining, but if you look at the prices of the gems to Gold ratio, not only did people buy a lot of keys but there was a lot of gold → gem / gem → gold activity. people weren’t just buying gems for costumes and keys they spent $ on transmuting their gems to gold so they could buy the skins off TP. I’m willing to bet that they made a great deal of $ for this event!

amazing job anet! and we still haven’t seen the other parts of the event! I loved pretty much every thing about this event, I dropped a decent amount of $ to get gems for all 4 minis, a lot of BLK, the Mad King costume and some bank space, didn’t get the skin I wanted but it’s what ever, every thing else you guys put into this game made the $ i spent worth it, thanks for the great event!

account ban? this is fraud, like with checks, this is a federal level crime and you can be punished to the full extent of the law for it if Anet chooses to go after you for this. and bragging about it on their forums won’t exactly help your case.

in any case every thing else has all ready been said, this is pretty much your own fault.
you purchased the gems, they were delivered, you purchased Keys, the were delivered.
the keys opened chests like they were suppose to and you received the items you gambled for.

also I really don’t get these people going on posting about how anet doesn’t care about their customers. to compensate a lot of these people, who spent money on BLKs the put out the mad king chest so you could get a free chest for every 2 you opened, the fact that the costumes and weapon skins are the only thing they charged for, they also added 4 act holiday event quests, which could possibly have some sort of reward even possibly a weapon skin at the end. just after quest 1 we got a unique back skin item. a free gem shop hat (free hats they have all ways done) they added a holliday DE and mining resource, and a small content patch fort the game. there are also weapon skins you can get in game if you put forward the effort for it.

personally I would love to some of the skins, but my luck wasn’t there either. I didn’t cry about it. even if people have these cool looking skins that doesn’t make them any better at the game, or mean they have better gear, just makes them lucky.

to my understanding you can craft weapons as well and you can “rent” the skins for 4 hours at a time for the Halloween event, I’m asking in another thread if the skins you can craft and the skins you get from BLC are the same, (I believe they are) but the ones you craft you can make any time of the year but you need to stock pile some of the materials because they will only drop during Halloween.

Craftable / buyable weapons are they the same?

so in another topic a mod said there are weapons you can craft, and there are weapons you get via black lion chests. so are these skins the same skins or are they different skins? (kind of like how armor is respectively different for each way you can obtain it)

a little more information,

My class is an Engineer.

there is a point in the quest where it asked you to collect dwarven relics but you can get the scabbard before you collected the relics. I’ve tried collecting the relics then getting the scabbard, then I’ve tried just grabbing the scabbard when I see it and trying to make a B line to the land point.

the weapon will disappear if you leave the water with it in hand. how ever it seems to drop as an item again if you use ` to switch back to your under water weapon, I managed to rig a quick fix with it buy dropping it close to land and targeting when you’re out of water with your land weapon in hand and pick up the Scabbard. it could possible take a few tries but it’s better than being stuck on this quest. hopefully this helps any one else experiencing the same issue as me.

ok, I was doing the stone Sheath quest, I got 90% of it done, grabbed the stone sheath and when I try and take it back to the safe point where you’re suppose to “escape” I can’t finish the quest, if I stay in the circle under water nothing happens. if I go onto land the sheath disappears and I can’t finish the quest I’ve run this quest 4-5 times now and the same thing has happened. every time. :-/
