Also encountered this issue a while back. For me it occurs when playing in large groups anywhere in the game (silver wastes, group events, etc.). I also opened a ticket with ANet because of that. After all the usual basic steps like deleting library folder, repairing the client or file system permissions they gave up.

I was told the developers were aware of this issue but still it persists for about 2 months now.

I can confirm MDressings problems. My game just crashed 3 times in a row while trying to sell items in gendarran fields. When setting to lowest graphics and sound settings it seems more stable, but this cannot be the solution.

Hope this will be fixed soon.
