Hi guys
- lv80 warrior (greatsword).
So i stopped playing gw2 soon as i got my halloween title, i felt pretty burnt out as i had 100% map completion + finished all jumping puzzles, in addition to this i had farmed both the armor and my desired weapon.
At this point i felt i should give it a rest till my passion returned.
Was hoping any players who have been around since the launch can fill me in (very very briefly) on any gameplay changes ?

I’ve actually found it fun asking for people to join the group for a dungeon. I’m a patient person and can wait 5 minutes for people to join.
I hated the LFD tool in WoW because it just pit random strangers with random strangers who didn’t talk to each other and just ran through to the very end (heck, most of them skipped all the bosses, because if you joined through the LFD, you couldn’t make any choices.)
I do wish there would be a world-wide LookingForGroup Channel, though. That might make things better.
But oh gawd, I seriously hope they don’t put in a dungeon/group finder. The last thing I need, and many others need, is another silent no-word run-through of dungeons just to farm.
Yuck.

Your wow argument is easily countered, you see the main reason ppl didnt talk was because it was cross server. Nobody knew eachother at all, and had no need to make a social attempt as theyd likely never see eachother again.
With that said, all anet has to do is implement the system for EACH server, so the only diff in this case is you’re not spamming lfg, you’re put in a group with ppl who you would’ve met with anyway but without said hassle.
Fact is this, spamming lfg using diff wording to avoid a badly constructed spam filter is tedious and quite frankly unproductive as you could be standing there for way longer than ‘5 mins’.
Your argument that spamming lfg, receiving ‘inv pls’ whispers, and ppl self inviting into your group, would somehow create more of a ‘convo/social atmosphere’ is utterly baseless my friend.

OP has 100% delivered in my opinion, this game needs something more and i especially agree with karma being useless atm.
If Level scaling was gone would you feel motivated to visit lower level areas again?

I steamroll through any low level zone as it is with my warrior, i rarely go below 90% and that only happens if im fighting with multilple mobs with more than 1 veteran together at the sametime.
If downscaling was removed the only difference id see would be that id kill everything in 1 hit instead of 2-3 lol.
Very useless, bring back the salvage/tools for karma vendors.
So you want ranged?

I agree with orion, the cross realm lfg killed the community not lfg itself, if it was implemented on a server basis only (which is what anet should do imho).
I support a lfg system!
I hope they never add such crap. It killed the world in WoW, people sitting in town waiting for a queue instead of being out there in the world.
You have no idea what youre typing about sir, you could go ‘out into the world’ whilst waiting in queue questing etc.
Only thing it would kill is the annoying lfg spam on map chat.

Simple fix, add Underworld and Fissure of Woe. I think the format of GW1 Underworld and FoW would translate very well to GW2. Large open map around the size of an explorable zone, replace the quests with event chains that lead up to final boss event and make it hard, not by just the monster strength but the event objectives as well.
That would be so awesome…put this in suggestions.
Path 1 and 3 you’d need to invite a random guy then yea.
Path 2 is possible with 4 players but it is indeed the hardest path of the 3 in CoF

How are people getting 30 for 2nd runs? This seems odd and unfair to say the least, as many get 20 and as the dev stated its intended that way.
It takes less than 30mins (less than 20 in some dungeons i.e. COF) to complete a path in this game.
With regards to the title of this thread the exact same can be said about the OP, laziness or ineptitude to finish a path?
The poster above me just made an invalid scenario, if you have a bad connection i suggest you look into a different ISP, as this is clearly an issue with your net and NOT the game.
As someone who’s pugged all of his COF gear POST EXPLOITS, i have managed to finish every single dungeon with pugs in reasonable time.
This is a l2p issue and/or laziness tbh, which is ironic considering the nature of this thread.
Many times i’ve wanted to see how armor/weapons/dye would look on my toon please PLEASE enable this option it would make life so much easier for many of us.
The amount of times i see players in LA map chat (myself included) asking ‘can anyone link x dye so i can see how it looks on my set’….I think it’s time for a preview feature.
Just because it’s a necromancer, it doesn’t have to be a minion-master. That’s narrow-minded. And the minion design is almost the same as GW, so I have no idea of what you’re going on about.

How on earth are you telling me its the same design as gw1? Did you even play gw1?
Minions were summoned from mob CORPSES in gw1…aslong as you fought you had an infinite supply of minions.
In gw2 you have to rely on skills that you use up on your slots and they have a cooldown so how you even compared the two is beyond me.
No1 mentioned Reanimator yet? Jagged horror summoned by that trait lose about 20% max health per second, making them last for about 5-6 seconds. Utterly useless; worst trait in the game.
Minions not having regen could very well be intentional btw. Played GW1?
In gw1 you could constantly create minions as they came from mobs you killed so you always had a constant supply as long as you was fighting.
Since in gw2 theyre skill based with 20+sec cd’s i think it only to be fair that theyd be given hp regen….im sure you could agree with that.
The fact is, all pets in other professions regen their health.
As they stand theyre a waste of multiple ulitily slots and should ATLEAST regen when not in combat.

I really hope the minion ai issues can be fixed asap, the fact they dont regen their hp makes them a waste of utility slots.
To sum up the issues in this thread.
- minion suvivability is terrible, please allow them to regen hp between fights.
- minions dont seem to engage in combat until theyre hit (even if i attack they wait till they get hit usually).
