Yes! I believe it does. I just recently came back to this game after leaving to play SWTOR and then after that WS (don’t get me started on this train wreck of a game) and I have fallen back in love with GW2’s beauty, optimization, and game mechanics – it’s a breath of fresh air.
Someone above summed it up perfectly.. it’s a jump in/ jump out game. I created a couple of new characters to experience the new leveling experience and it is definitely a lot friendlier to someone who is new or is coming back after a long hiatus such as myself. I like a lot of the QOL changes such as account wide wardrobe, dyes, mini’s etc.
I’d love to see more wardrobe options – the selection hasn’t changed much since release…and a new playable race or class.

Anyhow, my baby thief is currently running p/p and d/d. I’m purely leveling her right now as I’m relatively new to the game however once she hits 80 I’d love to pvp John Woo style and have her decked out like an old west gunslinger as you have yours.
Glad to see you’re having fun and I think the point here is to play the way that will give you maximum enjoyment so yeah it accomplished it’s purpose and I’m glad you posted it.
Yes it is possible to transmute the skins of higher level armors/weapons into your lower armors. My ranger is currently wearing the Berserker Duelist top and bottom (both level 75 ish) and she is only level 45.
Crystal Desert is a thriving server as well. Queensdale is always popping. When people are calling out DE’s I see anywhere between 15-30 people showing up to down the Champ troll or wasp queen. We had 40+ do the marsh event. True there are some zones that feel “empty” but there are zones in wow on high population servers that are the EXACT same way – and this is the most played game in the world. I remember questing through zones like Desolace or Hinterlands and seeing 2 or 3 people out questing. (I played on Tichondrius – which was one of the busiest pvp realms)
Saying this game doesn’t feel like an MMO because there is no “team dynamic” or because certain zones are empty is a very stupid statement.
My beautiful and sexy Norn Guardian, Gretchen Fiora. She is level 35 in a mash-up of the karma vendor gear w/ the hearty gladiator breastplate and legs.
And also my Norn Ranger, Ms. Mary Andrews (level 44). Looking stunning in a transmute incorporating the Berserker duelist top and bottoms. Probably the sexiest medium armor skin in the game imo along with the human t3 cultural.
Bump This guild is awesome. Super-active. There are events happening nightly. And it seems that there is no less than 15 people on at any given moment. A lot of activity and chatter. Great group of people. Not sure how Sinner finds the time to do everything he does, he leads this guild like he’s gettin’ paid!
Unfortunately ‘Holiday’ content is disposable. It’s here for a few days to a week then its gone. when you see the amount of work involved you start to ask yourself wether the time in development was worth the return in valu to the game and the community.
But this content can be re-used in the future. I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve done Children’s Week, Brewfest, Winter’s Veil, Lunar Festival, etc over in Pandaland.
Congrats to ArenaNet! Well deserved. This game is absolutely beautiful and incredibly fun to play. I haven’t had this much fun playing an mmo in years (since the late Vanilla/Burning Crusade days in wow, and for a brief moment SW:TOR). There are still some minor bugs and quite a few tweaks that could be made but it appears that anet is staying in touch with the community and continuously working on improving or fixing what needs to be fixed – and that is the most important thing as MMO’s are organic and they are perpetually growing and changing.
Every game burns people out. I’ve played wow since Vanilla and I recently walked away from a game I’ve devoted thousands of hours (and probably dollars) to because every time I’d log on I’d sit and stare at my main hovering on her mount in Stormwind and I’d ask myself… " Ok now what?"
You will always get tired of the PVE gear grind or dailies or auction house flipping or exploration or professions or pokemon pet battles or finding out your epics are suddenly obsolete with another expac or …..
every game is finite.
But I can say, THIS game has my rapt and absolute attention right now. It’s stunningly beautiful, the world/races/characters are rich with history, and it’s the only mmo I’ve played besides wow that just “feels” solid.
I’m in no rush to reach the end either, it’s the journey that is important. Like the poster above me so elegantly explained, it’s a hike. And the scenery is breathtaking

SW: Old Republic has a secondary dance, “/clubdance” emote which is a lot sexier than the standard “/dance”. Something similar should be implemented in this game – that way all the Carlton lovers can still have their beloved lame dance and the rest of us can get the TECHNO VIKING!
… I mean the way this game approaches pets is like you’re some merciless owner to a dog fighting ring in charge of throwing bait animals into the ring to get the dogs riled up.
If this is how much a Ranger cares about pets, perhaps we should lessen their use to the class.
Unless of course I’m the only one that simply throws pets in to the fray in hopes the pet can at least last the 30 seconds to cycle to the next pet?
LOL. I laugh because this is soooo true. The dog fighting analogy is perfect and now I think about it every time my Norn huntress swaps out her pets and bellows “NEXT!”

Hey there. You guys sound like a pretty awesome guild. My current guild is all but dead and I am interested in finding a more thriving gchat.
A couple of questions:
1) I’m new to Guild Wars (my highest level is 40) but definitely not new to MMO/PVP. I played WOW for quite a bit. So.. no 80’s.. yet… would you still consider me?
2) Crystal Desert – would it be possible to xfer there even though I keep checking and it says it’s “full”?
Still leveling up and questing on my Hunter (about to hit 40) and I alternate between my Lynx – high dps, and Black Bear – who can tank small groups and a debuff to weaken mobs.
