ha yeah after last reset when everyone was being dropped etc we had 3 people basialy quit on the spot and im bout done myself and those people spent a lot on gems so sad….
Hate to say it man but IMO this issue will not be fixed…to prolly fix the skill lag and just all around bad networking they woul havto overhaul current setup….meaning money and that’s not about to happen 7 months after game launch if anything they are working on an expansion lol which prolly wont have a magic fix either so…just one of those failed business dec. to save money early on not tis costing them
Yeah im pretty much done…I tried tunneling just for fun to see if made any diff. barely if at all…I spend to much money on my stuff to play a game that feels like its from 1999

At this point its like swtor was except obv. not as bad lol…it comes down to their servers..and the way they handle everything. Its hardware limits on their end simple as that yes maybe better coding could help some…and I mean maybe a tad.
Its obv. not going to be fixed so ill proly be moving on wait for next mmo that seems appealing…I don’t pay good money on my own hardware and networking to have skill lag and pretend its ok….what a joke
Ya but they also don’t take 6+ months to fix an issue that was created during Beta…I would love to pay a monthly sub for better server…15 a month is a joke and if u cant spend 15$ a month than idk lol….
noreaster I am in the same boat…been playing since launch and watching things get worse mainly for wvw. Maybe MMO’s need to have monthly subs since that seems to help with maybe better servers and maintenance. Because the server that are used are a joke IMO this is 2013 not 2004. I and a lot of my guild are on the edge esp. after last nights drop outs in EB and making us all wait in qeue again…
I installed 8.1 as well no issues here. Did you update you GFX drivers or reinstall them after? The preview install can corrupt driers so may need to redo gfx and maybe sound.
Also check for any pending updates.
Yeah I member same discussion early in the game…the water under all the maps is hasto kill performance on reflections don’t see why this was never toggled with to help improve performance….I get why its there so u cannot fire off spells under the map yadadadada…but don’t have the water reflect when we cant even see it lol

This may sound crazy but when the game first released a lot of folks were having the same issue and it actually was due to networking…yes sounds crazy but its true. In fact my friend was having this issue so ad one day we decided to troubleshoot the issue and by accident when we connect the pc without the router the black screens went away…however I stopped playing for awhile after that for work reason and when returning the issue was fixed. Something you could try maybe refresh your router to default settings…or even try opening ports for the game.
I was never able to find a technical reason behind this issue except a possible workaround.
Yeup brands to get: Corsair/Antect/CoolerMaster/OCZ and theres a couple more etc.
When it comes to PSU never cheap out. If it comes down to a crappy psu to begain with the unit maybe stressed and therefore its lifespan will shorten drastically esp. on crappy psu with low watts etc. The only reason your system is prolly eating those psu is because your purchasing either not enough watts or just bad psu from unknown manufact.
Also when is the last time you did a fresh image on your pc? This may sound a little on the hardcore side. However working a tier tech and doing os imaging on a daily basis. I would rec. for any gamer to refresh their os atleast twice a year. Or every 6 months. You may have registry errors causing these issues.

These issues can always be hard to diagnose…esp games since its either the game or system. However what I mean by configure is int he bios your ram will have xmp profiles I would select an xmp profile if your not to knowledgeable on ram configuration. This will allow the ram to run at rated speed/voltage. However that is a suggestion. Also in the NVidia control panel select single monitor display if only using one monitor.

Have you checked more than just drivers…sounds like you have bad/unstable memory if keep getting this… for example have a friend who rescently was getting about the same error. After him dropping out so many times in wvw I got annoyed lol. Went to his house checked is rig and sure enough his overclock on his gpu wasn’t as astable as he thought also. His ram was not properly configured in the bios. Once I corrected the issue. The guy has played a week straight not a single crash.
Agreed the state of the perf. is not about to change anytime soon fact. The only increase in perf. they could output at this point would be a dx11 version. However i doubt they will do so unless they already have started some time ago….which again i doubt.
Also if you have a multi monitor setup use gadgets etc and wathc your cores. Mine will touch 90%+ while in wvw my min. fps is around 27-28. Also yes due to the way the game handles your cpu it can ehat up beyond what other games will do. I touch 80c after couple hours no biggy Intel is not junk you can push your cpu the tjmax is 105 for a reason meaning intel is cinfident in their hardware.
I also begain to believe it was my memory casuing this…since im running them at 2400mhz with an 3570k @ 4.9. However I run more intenisve games without issues. But did note that i had a some what close crash on farcry 3 involving the same driver bundle. And my friend told me it was most liely driver related and sure enough it was.

Hey there not alot you can do just the game engine during wvw becomes cpu bound.
Im running a 3570k 4.7ghz with a gtx 680 and 8gb 2600mhz. I will drop to around 25-30 fps with 75+ people on screen with spells going off.
Hey there…I believe the issue would be on your cpu if i’m correct. I run a 3570k 4 core at 4.9ghz and I drop to 26-30fps with around 75+ with huge spells bursting. So yeah a duocore would prolly settle in around 5 fps.

Just see a lot of people assume certain temps are the max safe etc. Yes Intel states 67c Tcase however that number basically means it will run 67c for prolly 5-8 years straight without failing due to heat. Now if hit maybe 90c gaming after a couple of hours that about the max I will go due to heating my gfx cards etc. Back when a lot of folks were running 920-950 i7’s and even earlier gens. Most people considered 75c 80c max. Also most didn’t go past 4.2-4.4ghz in fear of cpu chip failure. Well I can tell you that me and a buddy have a system we use only for testing/video stuff and the i7-950 has been runn 4.7ghz @ 1.53v for 2 years lol not a single sign of degrade.
Anyways just fyi Intel has a tuning plan that’s around 20$ for those that get worried of cpu death. Keep in mind these Intel chips sand/ivys are very strong and will most likely kill your mobo before they kill themselves due to intense overclocking.
Oh and OP man overlock that thing mannnn!!!! You got the K version for a reason here ya go my friend come visit the Intel CPU section for assistance over at overclock.net with overlocking or message me anytime.
Btw yeah like other have said a a lil 212 evo will work however…if you don’t want the do a custom loop get the new corsair h110 or the kraken close water cooler. They will allow to run the chip between 4.8-5.0 24/7 for monster gains
I may just be not seeing it, but are you using an aftermarket fan/heatsink? If you’re overclocking an i5-3570k to 4.0GHz, I strongly suggest you get an aftermarket heatsink and fan. I’m currently running an i5-3570k @ 3.4GHz with the stock fan/heatsink and it gets up to 60C when I play GW2 on nearly max settings; the last thing you would want is your processor to get too hot to the point it starts to cause physical damage. If the HDD you chose is 7200RPM and SATA 6GB/s (just looking at it, I would assume it is, but I’ve been surprised before), I would say to not even bother with an SSD unless money is no object.
First off 60c is a joke if you think that is pushing it…lol Dude the chips can run hard for years a 90c straight….they aren’t cheap crap like back in the day if you went over 80c your kitten died in less than a year….non sense. I have 2 3570k’s and 1 3770k the one 3570k is sitting solid at 5.1ghz 1.48v week after release and it reaches maybe 80-85c while gaming bf3 or gw2 etc. Point is don’t tell people that they need to spend money for no reason 4.0ghz is nothing these days….and a stock sink will easily hold you to 4.1-4.2. Unless you want the chip to last 10 years…
You dont need to do a backup as you dont need to fresh the image. Just follow this first steup in this guide and this should fix your issue. Hope it helps good luck.

Have any of you tried Disabling your os’s Net. throttling? This is a huge fix for most of what yall describe? That coupled with leatrix fix/tcp optimizer should help alot of you out. Both of those are 2 sec registry tweaks google…
Firstly having to troubleshoot issues with your pc is nothing new this comes with playing pc games…Also if you would have realised the issue is obv. you os image. Did you even google….? By doing a quick google search I was able to find mutiple fixes to your issue. Ill just leave this with you and hope you can figure the rest out. Your windows is most likely throttling your connection to GW2 for unknown reason. Also like Sartori stated did you even try leatrix fix? The most easiest fix ever to exist in existance? ;] Hope you get it figured out! But I would say disable your os’s throttling and you should be golden.
From personal experience the Ivy bridge line hands down gets better performance clock for clock on this game….Im running an i5-3570k 4.84ghz 47×103 8gb 2470mhz on a 7870 2gb and with shadows on med and shaders on med rest high I can maintain a solid 30+ in a battle of maybe 75+ i think i saw it drop to 28 once. But I ran fraps fps counter always so im always observing my fps.
I also would like to note that I did some memory for work for a friend and overlkittened his memory to 2600 under an i7-3770k and his min fps went up by about 3-4 in wvw solid. I havent seen him dip below 40 in a battle of 100 it sick lol. oh btw his 3770k his oc to 5.1.
One last thing man I really rec. building yourself a 3770k system esp. if you want the hyperthreading tec. If you have a microcenter near you id suggest looking them up because you can get a 3770k for like 230$ and a 3570k for 180$

I usually dont post however I see lots of folks having issues with this crash/freeze. After hours of testing etc on multiple platforms with games running dx9 I can confirm that the c00000005 error is coming from the pcie lane/ your gpu needs to be evaluted at its current speed and or voltage. My rec. is to iether lower the Mhz on your gpu or up the voltage to achieve a higher stability.
Yeah the smaa makes a huge diff. And distorts UI? Im not getting any of that.
It runs just fine on win8 maybe even slightly better on win8 than 7 due to several factors…however your issue sounds like faulty or wrongly installed driver may it be network drivers/realtech driver I cant say for sure…check you network drivers you can also buy a network card its what I do even on new z77 boards still can have issues of dropped connections etc.
Bro buy a h80 or kuhler 920 they are small water coolers much quieter than a full blown pipe cooler and easy as heck to install. Oh and buy intel tuning plan its like 20$ or so and you can oc the living crap out of your cpu….enjoy
Going from win7 64 to win8 64 im getting on average 2-5 fps higher than on 7 build. nothing huge but it is there. Also like above said feels some what smoother could be placebo but I’ve been told multi core is handled better like poster above stated.

Only experiance i’ve had in WvW was about 30ish people smashing a gate down ..my FPS droped to 50. So i guestimated i would drop to maybe mid 30’s if i was lucky in BIG battles. Im a notch down on my OC compared to yours. GPU wasnt an issue evem my 560ti droepd to 60% usuage at that point.
Your rig is fine man that sword guy is bs’ing you hard…the game engine needs to be optimized better simple as that. WvW is mainly cpu bound…

True. lol. But that guy said there wasn’t a setup that existed that would play WvW with that many people on screen at 45 fps minimum.
I really doubt your getting a min of 45fps with around 80-100 on screen…screenshot because I know multiple people with better rigs than in your sig that get a min of 30-35 with 80-100 on screen in fact next time your in SM with all three server smashing at the lord screenshot love to see your 45 min fps lols….Its not a matter of brute forcing fps it comes down to the limitations of the game engine itself this is a known fact…
Good setup at this point in time there really is no setup that will run WvW on highest settings and achieve a solid 40+ fps with 75+ people on screen with maybe 40-50+ on screen you’ll stay above 30 witch is very playable anymore than that the game engine takes a nose dive. Lots of people are running 5.0ghz+ i5’s and still dropping below 30 fps with 70-100 players on screen just how it is…
I tested these this morning before they pulled them due to down clocking 2d bug…very nice improvement across the board my fps jumped in LA by about 15-20 fps I was already getting about 60 but def. helps with smoothness also improved in WvW but not as much due to WvW being mostly cpu bound but still an improvement overall…my specs are…

Most of us are talking about WVW not pve….and if you say your getting 80 fps with 50-60+ people on screen than either screenshot it or stop lying…

Not sure why some of these systems are having problems, especially those with i7s and 680s.
I have a 2600K running at 4.5Ghz, 16GB DDR3, EVGA 570 2.5GB, OS drive is an SSD and the game drive is 2 SSDs in RAID0.
There is not a single instance where the game is unplayable and I play with every setting turned to maximum except for render sampling which is as Normal and not Supersample (because that alone drops performance by about 20fps).
Most times my fps is around 80. So, I am unsure of what some of you are doing to get it to unplayable levels with such high end systems. Sounds like it is something wrong with your system, your drivers or whatever.

Go for Berserk and Valkry gear basically a mix of 50/50 and…I run d/d backstab hs build witrh 30 in crit and 30 in acrobatics for survivability very fun and strong setup you can remainder of points in power or trick…up to you current hp 16k 43% crit 96% crit damage 2100 power
