Leader of Tyrian Farmers Union
Tarnished Coast
Hey there,
I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. The Gem Store expects one more character for some reason than what is on the card. You can remedy this by just putting a space at the end of the numbers you enter. It should take it then.
Ok I have to throw this out there because I love me some speculation and it doesn’t seem that far off when I start connecting the pieces.
This line keeps coming back over and over in my mind:
“What Ronan knew and never told still lingers in the Dream.”
What if the seeds that existed in the cave that Ronan found weren’t actually seeds, but dragon eggs? More specifically, eggs from Mordremoth? Because Ventari and Ronan raised the tree with care, kindness, and a moral code, it grew into a being that was opposite of it’s parent. This wouldn’t necessarily make her a Champion of the Dragon, but due to her connection to Tyria, to its life, and to Mordremoth, she is definitely in a position to know of her true origins.
There are other lines that seem to suggest the Pale Tree is aware of this fact about her Sylvari:
“If you are not one with what you were born to be, you are lost. Worse, you are dangerous.”
“Please: go no further. In seeking to comprehend the forces that shape us, you will unleash them. Society cannot withstand that.”
It’s possible, in the same vein that the Great Destroyer was Primordius’ champion, that the entire race of the Sylvari was supposed to be Mordremoth’s. Instead, it could be that the existence of the Pale Tree inhibited his growth/consumption/awakening due to its peaceful and non-invasive nature. Consider how it grew; it’s roots spread across all of Tyria. Who else’s roots have recently started doing that? Thanks to Malyck, now that we know that Sylvari can be created outside of the Pale Tree, this seems to be a more likely theory. It would stand that Mordremoth would be most driven to uproot and destroy this opposition (much like Kralkatorrik went after Glint and Zhaitan went after the other sentient races) which is why he attacked.
The Sylvari that are turning to nightmare are ones that are embracing Mordremoth’s nature already inside their being. They are seeking their “true” nature, allowing the corruption of the dragon, which is why they will always be severed from the Dream of the peaceful Sylvari. The anomaly in this equation is the Pale Tree and her Sylvari, who are not acting as they were created to, whereas the NC and the others are embracing what they are.
As for the vision provided by the Pale Tree, I think it was nothing more than a glimpse of what would happen to the world without her influence. It clearly shows in the beginning that she is fading, and starting to die. The remainder of the cinematic is the consequences if we let it happen. Five pillars of fire and energy, five prominent civilizations to stand in the way of the dragons.
TL;DR; Pale Tree seed was dragon egg of Mordremoth, and the race of Sylvari were supposed to be his herald/champion. Pale Tree is nice, so she must be destroyed by the true Sylvari, the ones embracing Mordremoth and the Nightmare.

I actually suspect that the person that contacted Mordremoth was Phlunt. Scarlet was already proven to be working with the Inquest when she stole documents for them, and when Omadd found her he worked with her (and the machine). Omadd was also the one that convinced the Asuran Council to let Scarlet into the Colleges. Guess who is on that council? I’m pretty sure Phlunt is corrupt and is Inquest. He was amazed at Taimi’s invention, but immediately wanted to confiscate it. Taimi runs away with it and you chase her, and who shows up to try to stop her? The Inquest.
The Inquest are already infatuated with the power of the dragons, we see that across Tyria with all of their crazy experiments (and everything in and around CoE). I am not convinced they are actively working for the dragon, but likely more looking for a way to control one. They don’t want the unification of Tyria’s armies to ruin their chance at somehow harnessing Mordremoth’s power, so they attract him to the summit to try to have some of the leaders killed.

Greetings and salutations,
I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 since the beginning, waiting for the right time to finally join a guild while sharpening my abilities and familiarity with the game to the point of being useful. That time has come, and rather than scour through many Guild recruitment posts, I thought I should put myself out there and hopefully we will find each other.
About Me:
- Only have one level 80 character, a Human Mesmer that I love to play. Build is currently a custom healing/mantra/regen build with boon support and direct damage (30/20/0/20/0). He is very broken in; 100% Map Completion, multiple dungeons unlocked, some Fractals of the Mist experience (level 6 currently), and WvW.
- Have several alternate characters, but currently working on my Sylvari Thief which I will build into a lean, mean farming machine.
- Adept at leadership and teaching; very patient and willing to put the work in on a team of consistent players in order to progress.
- Social and mature; I avoid drama and situations that could possibly cause drama. Though I am usually mindful of my language, I am not offended by adult themes and have a very good sense of humor.
- I am not actively seeking a Legendary; this leaves me with copious amounts of gold to randomly purchase influence boosts and equipment for complete character rebuilds if needed.
- I am loyal, and you can expect 100% representation.
- I have enough integrity to hold up to my commitments; if I say I am going to be somewhere, I will be there, and early.
- I do have my own Guild (Tyrian Farmers Union), but I am using it as a mule between myself and the original founders, and we are just dumping our influence into it for something to do at the moment.
What I Am Looking For:
- A sturdy guild with about 15-25+ players on at peak times.
- Casual environment, but with members that are reliable and events that regularly occur. Essentially what I mean is that there isn’t required attendance, but people that say they will show up, do so.
- PvE oriented, including Living Story and holiday events. A word about this as well, I am looking for a Guild that is almost solely PvE; if you dabble in other things, that is fine, but I’m not very interested in a Guild that tries to do everything. I’m looking for this to be a specialty.
- A structured website that is more like a web portal than anything. Registration is fine, but my main interest is a feature that makes it easy to track and sign up for events.
- Must be on Dragonbrand. I’ve got a wife and a couple of friends that I like to play with, so transferring isn’t an option right now.
Feel free to send me a private message or just post a link to your Guild’s advertisement if you have one (website is fine as well).
Thanks for reading.

Here are a few methods that I’ve found to help:
1. Farm money through completing the explore paths of dungeons like Citadel of Flame, or do Fractals of the Mist, and put an order in the Trading Post for the material you want. These dungeons do indeed drop bags that could grant the materials as well.
2. Use the Mystic Clover recipe that yields 10 clovers on success (10 Mystic Coins, 10 Ectoplasm, 10 Obsidian Shards, 10 Crystals) – If you fail at the Clover combine you still have a chance of getting around 40 of a random tier 6 material OR 10 of a certain type of Lodestone. The Lodestones sell for quite a bit if you aren’t going to need them for a legendary.
3. The Laurel vendor sells a tier 6 bag for 1 Laurel that yields a random amount (3 or so) materials.
Good luck!
Also keep in mind that the lesser materials are easier to find and farm, are cheaper from the Trading Post, and can be used for transmuting into a higher tier material with the Mystic Forge.

Best option is bags, in my opinion. Actually if you farm some of the very frequent events in the 1-15 zones you will get quite a few. This event is one of my favorites for Jute Scraps:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Protect_the_weapon_parts_from_the_Flame_Legion
The Charr you kill drop Ritual Bags and Shredded Garments. The Garments always salvage into Jute, and the Ritual Bags have a chance to drop them. Plus the event happens every 8-12 minutes, so if you just hang out in the zone for an hour, you can easily get about 50-60 pieces, possibly more.
This is also a good place to get tier 1 inscription items, as the bags have a chance to drop those too.
As leather is only available from a few select things, some amount of farming is involved. You can salvage leather armor of the level range you are trying to craft for, salvage it from hides dropped from certain animals (Bears, Skale), or salvage it from salvage items (like thin leather straps, for example).
A very nice read, thank you for sharing. Definitely good things to consider.
Wasn’t Kormir tied to Abbadon in some way before the battle even started? I remember her being in the Realm of Torment because she was taken there by force, but stated that she couldn’t leave willingly while Abbadon still persisted. Something about a secret that she had kept about causing the awakening of the Apocrypha which led to Varesh being able to bring about the Nightfall. I think she had regret for keeping that secret, but was redeemed when she helped defeat him. The avatars of the gods also talked about giving her a “gift”, and that humans have always been capable of defeating evil. The gift obviously being granted the 6th spot as a god.

Description
We are looking for players with a desire to gain as much possible from the farming/gathering/crafting experience of Guild Wars 2. Whether it is a desire for riches, to be completely self-sufficient when outfitting, or just seeking the boons of well-spent influence, your reasons are your own. This guild is not designed to be a player’s primary home; it is more of a haven of downtime, where you can relax and retreat from whatever other guild obligations you might otherwise have. We do not have requirements of attendance, a percentage of your playtime representing us, or any real expectations except that of a respect for the game and the community.
Your time representing us is mutually beneficial. While under our banner, your actions will gain us Influence to help us afford to purchase guild-wide rewards. These rewards will be scheduled drops to make sure every member is able to gain their benefit, multiple times per week. In addition, our community will be that of a simple bartering economy, with members able to freely trade between eachother for gathering/crafting services.
We have an interest in WvWvW, because of the substantial benefits to our cause when our world holds more assets. The treks into that domain will depend on our world’s degree of control, and will also be scheduled to ensure every member knows our plans so they can choose to participate.
All that said, if you wish to jump on board permanently you are entirely welcome. We are extremely small and new, though the leadership boasts 10+ years of organized play (competitive and casual). As we grow, we will need permanent fixtures in the form of senior members and officers, and the guild direction may eventually shift from just crafting and gathering to other goals, depending on the wants and needs of those that choose to call us home.
Feel free to contact either Veniska or myself in game for an invitation. You may also respond here with your character name and we’ll look for you each time we play until you are invited. We look forward to playing with you!

I haven’t had this issue really. I typically take steps to avoid the pet, like snaring it or drawing it out a long distance from the Ranger and then moving in close with Steal, giving me some time alone with its master.
